@shauna43- hope you start feeling better soon! I actually feel pretty good.. wasn't very sore since there wasn't much to retrieve. Honestly feeling much worse emotionally than physically. I'm nervous to get the call tomorrow at work, but I really shouldn't take another day off. I'm sure you are going to get amazing news tomorrow!! Thinking of you too

@shauna43- you are just too sweet and def made me smile :0) which is saying something since they had me start PIO tonight and I had a little panic attach about that big needle! I'm sure it will be no big deal in a couple days but I did not feel like doing that tonight! DH was great and now I'm sitting on the heating pad :0)

Got my day 6 report. 6 out of 13 made it. Did a freeze all since I'm doing genetic testing. They we re telling me the grades but I didn't understand at the time. I do remember them saying 4BB and 5AA I think. Ultimately they said they freeze only ones that can make a baby.

@JamieH2000 omg i know pio sux. my butt would be bruised and sore after the first couple weeks. but i guess it does get easier. the heat def helps!!!! i start pio and patches  tomorrow oh FUN

AFM I'm just hanging out on estrogen pills and patches waiting for my next lining check on the 8th. I didn't realize how much invisible hair I had in my stomach until I went to change my patch! Yowza!!! Defnitely shaved my whole lower stomach before putting on the next one. Also, I asked my husband for a Crackpot (I meant crockpot) this morning via text. He about died laughing and said with the way I was acting I should have a crackpot. I guess I'm hormonal?! lol!

@shauna43 - holy cow that's a lot! Was your e2 pretty high at retrieval (if you don't mind sharing)?
AFM - day 7 of stims. They decreased my follistim yesterday to 75 after my E2 tripled since Monday. I think they want to start the antagonist today... but I think Sunday is looking like my trigger day unless anything changes.

Got my fertilization results...its not great but ill take it. out of 43 eggs 15 were mature and 9 fertilized. so now thet will call tomorrow to see how many are 4 cell. im a little  disappointed with it but glad i still got 9 chances.

Thanks ladies! I am still waiting to hear.. not sure when they will call... Trying not to obsess over it.. but its hard not to think about it when my butt is throbbing from the PIO last night! I tried having DH rub it and then heat pad.. but I think I need to try something else (assuming I am still doing it tonight). Maybe more movement would help, but they want me to take it between 8-11pm so don't really feel like doing much more at that point.

@JamieH2000 thanks! My tenative transfer date is the 16th, but depending on my lining could be the 18th or the 23rd. I'm really hoping it's the 16th (day after hubby's birthday) or the 18th. I've been having to travel back and forth to Houston from Oklahoma for treatment, but it just so happens that my husband has training  the week of the 14th Thru the 18th in Houston! That's also where we are both originally from so it'll be nice to spend some time with the family.

@JamieH2000 eager to hear your results. Praying for great news!  Do you know why you have to do PIO?  Why not the vaginal suppositories?  

@shauna43 that's still great even if it's not what you had hoped for. Fx they are all perfect! Are you sending them for testing?

@shauna43 I think that is GREAT news! From being in these boards so frequently, those who get really high egg counts, 20 and above, usually don't have all mature. Generally A LOT are immature, (90%) the quantity is high and the quality is low. In your case, 15 is EXCELLENT- you have both quality and quantity! That's a lot of mature eggs for a woman to carry!! and 9 embryos give you a high probability of a great quality embie! Don't be disappointed, you got great news!!

@shauna43- I understand the disappointment. I think your odds with those 9 are great though! Hope they all keep growing!

Well they finally called... both eggs were mature and 1 fertilized with ICSI. We will transfer it on Saturday. Praying that it continues to develop well. I know it just takes one and it has happened for people with just one.. but just struggling to feel hopeful after so much disappointment...Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.. It really does mean so much

Ladies... sorry if this is TMI.. but I don't know what to think. I didn't get any spotting after ER yesterday (they said I may), and now today I think I am.. its almost like EWCM, but brown.. I am nervous I am getting my period somehow? my progesterone was only at 5 yesterday so they stated me on PIO... I feel kinda crampy.. but sure not if that is from lunch, PIO, or just ER still...

I didnt expect to get 43 mature eggs. but i thought i was going to get at least 20 because thats what she measured on ultrasound. i think what happened is that my re doubled my dosage half way thru which caused all those immature eggs. at the same time i think it made my larger eggs overmature which is why i lost some eggs and went down to 15 mature. thank you guys for making me feel better and im reallg ok with the  number.  its actually one more fertilized than ive had in previous ivf. i know i have no reason to be upset and im thankful for what i have. but just thought i was going to get a few more. they said they wpuld call me tomorrow to see how many are 4 cell.  

Jamie i had spotting after ER hopefully thats what it is. did you tell your clinic?  im glad you have one still growing. ill be praying for sat so you can transfer. will they call you with update tomorrow ?

Hi everyone.  I had to take 2 days away from the boards because i've been fighting terrible headaches.  I have to spend the whole day looking at a computer work, which killed my head, so i didn't want to come home and get on the computer.  I missed so much excitement!!  AFM- still on TWW.  I feel like a kid dying to open her christmas gifts, but its not christmas yet.

@shauna43  wow that was a large ER!  You got 9 chances!  Thats amazing!  Grow emboss grow!!

@JamieH2000  the day of my ER i was fine.  Took some tylenol in the recovery room and used heat packs all day.  The next day.... O M G  I had pain and spotting.  The nurse told me to drink gatorade to alleviate the pain.  I HATE gatorade!  I spent 3 days in pain, bloating and discomfort before i went and drank orange gatorade.  Believe it or not, it helped tremendously!!  My pain was worse at night, and the night after the gatorade was much better.  

@Colleen0516  Im so happy for you.  Ive only been on this board a short time, and i'm sure my hormones are talking, but I teared up a little reading your messages.  You deserve this after all your struggles.

@JamieH2000 so glad to hear that one fertilized. and you have just 2 more sleeps before transfer! i very much understand your disappointment but i'm glad there's still a chance. I had some light brown spotting as well the day after retrieval. The clinic said it was left over from the retrieval.
@DDRGirlie Sorry to hear about your headaches. i hear ya about staring at the computer screen all day. Good luck getting through the TWW.

AFM, this wait until Sunday is longggg. My doctor actually called today which I feared was bad news but she just wanted to confirm that we didn't want to genetic test the embryo since we just have one, and rather try for a fresh transfer. I agreed. Then she said that the egg took a bit longer to fertilize so we might even push retrieval until Monday. So crazy. Hope I get the chance! She gave it a 50/50 shot of surviving.

@shauna43- that's nice you get an update tomorrow! I hope I do when they call tomorrow with my transfer time. I didn't ask at all today.. but I assume that they are 2 cell and that is considered "fertilized". Keep us posted!

@ddrgirlie- Glad you are feeling better now!

@lrynwnab- praying so hard for your 1 embabie too! I hope you can transfer it on sunday! This process is so hard, but if it works, it will be worth it.

AFM, my spotting stopped.. so hopefully I am fine. I didn't ask about lining at all at my last appointments, but last sat it was 7.6, so hopefully its looking good by Saturday for a transfer. Trying to get up the courage for the next PIO shot. I was in a ton of pain today and could barely walk. I am trying warming up the oil first and going to make DH rub it in a lot longer and harder, then heating pad. Any other pointers?

I have been absent from the bump for a few days as well. I had my sonohysterogram today. So, after everything I read about it, I wasn't concerned about the discomfort. Everyone said it was no worse than a pap smear....ummm hell to the NO! I hurt my husbands hand from squeezing it so hard. I was not expecting that sort of pain, and i still have cramps right now. They only found one fibroid, but were concerned because they saw several bumps. The bumps ended up being large contractions and it was bizarre to visually see my pain, lol. I am just happy that we are ok'd to go on to the next step, which are stims!

@JamieH2000 i started pio tonight and it did not hurt at all. my hubby used a smaller needle *dont know size or if really supposed to. using the smaller needle hurt less and also he had to inject it slower. also try putting the heat on before you  inject maybe that will help it ease its way in. good luck!

@Iwrynwnab good luck on your transfer. i have had slow growing embryos in past. try not to worry. praying your  embryo makes it!  (((hugs)))

@shauna43 what do you mean by smaller needle? you should be using a 22 gauge to inject. Don't use any smaller than that because you need to be sure you inject into the muscle. If you use too small, it wont reach the muscle and the PIO wont work as effectively. 
Draw up the liquid with a 18 gauge, and inject with a 22 gauge (1 and half inch needle).

AFM - AF arrived this morning (with a vengeance...these cramps! yikes!) The nurse said that the very earliest we'll have the genetic test back is this afternoon. Here is to hoping that it still pans out and I don't have to go on BC for two weeks. Although I have a feeling that's whats going to happen.

@shauna43 if your doctor gave it to you then i'm sure it is! But it wouldn't hurt to call and check. After all you've been through, you don't want a needle messing things up! 

@Isthisthereallife I am feeling good. Im so happy that I am not bleeding. Ive never had a pregnancy where I have gone this long without spotting or bleeding of some kind. Phew!! (so far! dont want to jinx it). 
I have a sonogram set up for Wednesday. I believe I will be 5w2d at that point so I think we are just looking for the sac! 
Why would your genetic testing make a difference if you start or not? Wouldn't it only effect the embryo transfer part? You are just starting IVF right?

@Colleen0516 Yes, our plan was ER and then a fresh transfer. The idea was that if something were to come up on my DH's genetic test, then we'd need to put a hold and talk to the geneticist. I'm hopeful that because we come from different background, it would be a non-issue. Plus the diseases that I'm a carrier for a pretty rare and background specific. 

I am so glad that the bleeding stopped! Can't wait to hear back about your sonogram on Wednesday!

@colleen0516- Thanks for your post about the PIO needles.. I just realize I have been switching the needles for the injections. I actually think I have been using the bigger one, instead of the smaller one, to inject! Maybe that is why my butt hurts so bad!!

The clinic just called and my transfer is at 10:10 tomorrow. I said, so this means the embryo is still growing? And she said she didn't know, she just had instructions to call... Not sure if they don't check on day 2? I have heard some places don't want to disturb them more than needed? I just don't want to go in tomorrow and have them be like sorry, it stopped at 2 or 4 cells and we have nothing to transfer. Do other people get day 2 updates before a day 3 transfer?

@jamieh2000 oh boy!!! that HAD to HURT. The other needle is so thick  Yay for a time!!! as of now, the embie is growing... so it just needs to hold on a little longer, then it will be back in its normal home and will cozy up and stay with you

@jamieh2000 I'm glad you got the call thats exciting!!  Agree with @Colleen0516 as usual  Your lil bean is fine so i've been told they did not disturb the embabies, they look at them on day 3 and decide then if the transfer is happening or going to day 5.  Usually if you don't have many and are doing a fresh transfer they schedule it for day 3.  Someone on this thread went through that i believe, maybe ddgirlie?  Theres quiet a few so i could be confusing the people, my apologies.  You're on the right track keep the faith and the magic is going to happen!!!
@colleen0516- Thirlled the bleeding has stopped!!  Hope you're feeling great and excited for you to see your sac and bean in the perfect spot!  I can't imagine this roller coaster you're on.  Amazing what a pro you become knowing everything through this process. I still haven't mastered these shots but do them better.  I usually do the gonalF first as its easier then menupar but last night i swapped it, does it matter?  Thinking maybe my body will respond better, who knows.
@Isthisthereallife do you get the call yet?  Hoping you can start!  I feel like you'll be able to!  I had the same issue as you some type of gene issue BUT because my OH is different he really couldn't be a carrier of it too.  I'm feeling good for you, hope u got the call!!  PS my cramping was KILLER this round too!

Hey guys! i got my Day 2 update. my clinic  checks day 1,2,3 and 5. anyway the 9 are still growing but 4 are leading the pack with a AA grade and no fragmentation. 5 are still 2 or 3 cell. cant wait to get day 3 results.
@jamieh2000 good luck tomorrow. im sure your little embryo us going strong let us know how it goes.
@kwolf002 ive done 2 fets but not sure about timeline. i think it depends on the day your fet is scheduled .  i think every place is different too. hopefully the wont make you wait too long.

@Hopeful_mom I did get the call. Starting BC on Sunday until the 21st. Will do the baseline on the 23rd and the stims the 26th. Tentative ER scheduled for 12/4 then FT. This is all assuming DHs results are clear.

I wish I could say I wasn't disappointed but nothing we can do. Just have to wait it out. Hope that your acupuncture went well! Do you like it?

@kwolf002 It's around 7 weeks after retrieval give or take a few days. 
1-2 weeks to get AF, 2 weeks on BCP, 3 weeks to get uterus ready with estrogen and progesterone.
