Re: October/November IVF

  • @jamieh2000 Thank you! The nurse replied back and said there is a big possibility that I will miss the window for the transfer since the labs close mid December. If thats the case I will do FET in January, so that was a bit of a bummer since I know I will be extra basket-casey if I have to wait longer.  :D

@Colleen0516 I am crossing my fingers for you! 2 excellent embryos sounds wonderful!!
TTC #1: March 2011 (slightly before)
    Fur-children: 3 dogs + 2 cats (all rescued)
    dx: Endometriosis and Fibroids
2 Laps and 1 Abdominal Myomectomy
    6 rounds of clomid
    5 rounds of iui
Several HSG's sprinkled throughout the years to up my chances of a BFP
Several dilation of cervix because they suspect the scar tissue is hindering it from fully opening (partially adds to the severe cramps all month)
IVF #1 Gonal F, Menopur and Cetrotide
    ER 12/1/2016
    ER-Retrieved 22 eggs 10 fertilized
4/4 day 5 embryos were normal for PGS!!! 2 boys/2 girls
    FET 1/10/2017
    Gallbladder surgery 1/10/2017
FET estimated end of Feb, beginning of March

  • @Colleen0516 I think transferring the two best ones is great! I'm actually surprised you wanted to transfer 3. My clinic only does 2 max I think. Anyway sounds like you'll have frozen ones as back up? Good luck take it easy and let those beauties get snug.

  • @shauna43 it's my 6th transfer, I've transfered 2 embryos 4 times with no viable pregnancy. We transfered 3 embryos last time and I had the ectopic. I had anxiety over 2 (day 3) embies bc I've done it so many times. But in he end, each round is different and I can't compare them. Just need to trust that these are stronger than my past ones!

  • With everyone's impressive follie numbers, I'm kind of disappointed with my 12.  My largest is measuring at 17, the doctor said they want to see them measuring at 20 for maturity. I'm waiting to hear back from my blood work this morning and I'll go to the doctor either Sunday or Monday.  My retrieval will be either Tuesday or Wednesday.

@Colleen0516  I can't imagine how hard it must be.  I hope its a sticky gluey transfer.

Okay, I'm I weird, I swear I feel stuff happening like my eggies are growing after doing the Menopur this morning. I woke up early because I was nervous about all the mixing. It isn't easy and it requires really having to think.

  • @kwolf002 my transfer history. I'm only 30 so age hasn't factored yet. But I've done so many transfers (both day 3 and day 5) with 2 embryos, she wanted to be more aggressive last time and this time. We did 3 last time,  but they all were similiar in advancement. This round, 2 were much better than the others.. so we went with those super embryos.

@shauna43 I know, I kinda wondered why we didn't wait til day 5 either,  but since 9 weren't doing so great and 2 were, she didn't want to chance losing the 2 that looked great. She believes some embryos will grow strong in the dish, while others may not but will grow strong in the uterus. So she put them in and we're hoping they strive! It's gotta be intense to be an RE- pressure lol

  • @Kp214 What do you mean by asking if I'm doing a different protocol? All of this is still pretty new to me.   I haven't started my meds yet....that'll be the next cycle once my hysteroscopy and mock transfer are done.  I was told that I'd be on the antagonist protocol though??

@Colleen0516 Congrats on the transfer! I have a good feeling for you!

Had my CD3/4 ultrasound and bloodwork today. Doc said the ultrasound looked great. I was told that I'd get my bloodwork results today but surprise surprise it's nearly 3:30pm (had blood drawn at 8:30am) and no phone call.  My guess is no one will call until they open on Monday.  It's annoying that they made it a point to say that I'd be contacted today because I've been anxiously waiting to hear from them.  I would have preferred that they not have said anything so that I wouldn't have gotten excited.

So now being the pessimist that I am, I'm worried that maybe they lost the bloodwork or something happened to it and now I'll have to push things back to get a new set of labs during my next cycle  :s

@Colleen0516 Congrats on a successful transfer! Fingers crossed for you.

@DDRGirlie Hoping for some great quality embies in that bunch for you!

@SwtAnana I hope someone ended up calling you. That would be extremely frustrating if not.

afm I have been stimming for six days, seven including the first Lupron dose. It feels like forever!!! I finally have my first u/s check on Monday. Man.
  • @lyrnwnab- Really hope you get great news tomorrow at your u/s!

@JuliaAnn86- That is a great update! FX for another good update!!

AFM, today was my first ultrasound. I was honestly on the edge of a panic attack from anxiety. I was so scared I would have 1 or 2 lead follies like last time (which was evident at my first u/s). Luckily DH could come with me and he was there holding my hand which helped. While obviously I wish I had more, we had 6 growing on the good side (4.9-7.9) and 2 on the bad side (3.4-3.5). I don't have high hopes for the two on the bad side, but the tech said everything is where it should be after 3 days of stims. Now i just need those 6 to keep growing together!! My clinic won't do an ER for less than 4 mature follies, so anything more than that is just cake. Waiting for the call, but I'm assuming i'll stay on the max dose of follistim and go back on Tuesday.

  • Congrats @Colleen0516 with the two great embabies! And congrats to all others with good news thus far! Rooting for the rest of you all!

afm- egg retrieval tomorrow! We will be freezing what thrives because I've developed a polyp that they want to remove before a transfer takes place. We will also be pgd testing the embryos as well.

Have any any of you developed polyps as a result of stimming? Also, what's the potential timeline for a frozen transfer? I want to transfer and be pregnant..yesterday.
  • Hello ladies!!!  I've been lurking for a bit as I wanted to try to catch up on the board, and not sure about my cycle yet.  I see many great ladies in here and unfortunately quite a few familiar names....really hoping all the positive energy is going to bring everyone a BFP!!

As for me I did 2 rounds of ivf back to back with converting the last to an iui. My body isn't responding as we hoped so I guess that low AMH is causing me issues.  Even though I didn't want to, I did take this past cycle off yo give my body a rest.  Now would I love AF not to sure and have my miracle, absolutely....but seeing how things have gone figured I should start preparing myself for what's next

@mous sorry to here about the polyp but hopefully that's just a short detour for u. Wishing u all the best on ER!!

@JamieH2000 ur looking good, that's a great us!! Hoping everything keeps growing together and those baby ones catch up!!  Laughing whatbubwrotenabout AF, that was me last month so I could start stemming, first time in 2 years I didn't cry when AF arrived ugh!!

@Colleen0516 really rooting u on praying ur twins are super sticky for u!!!

@SwtAnana it's so true, that's all I ever feel like, I wanted to be pregnant on number 2 already let alone still TTC number 1.  You're also not thenonlynone that has good and bad days, it's normal and like all the ladies have already said.  I find its so true and here is the place we can voice it.

Theres so many too name @BecauseLove @Isthisthereallife best of luck to all the beta testing, tww, FET and ladies stemming!  Great things are coming!! Sparkling baby dust to all!!

  • Had my ER yesterday. Had 6 retrieved, was feeling bummed because I was hoping for at least double digits... But got the call this morning that of the 6 eggs 5 were mature and all 5 fertilized so they want to grow them out to blasts for a possible 5 day transfer on Friday. So keeping my fingers crossed xx.

Happy to hear all these other good results, they are giving me hope!

  • @BecauseLove ask your doc to prescribe zofran! And be sure you're taking that doxy on a full stomach with plenty of water. I'm the same way when it comes to antibiotics and the zofran helps tremendously.

@taradise99 it only takes one!!!' If 5/6 fertilize that says a lot about your embryo quality, right?

@hopeful_mom I'm really rooting for you. I hope af doesn't show and you have your little miracle without going through another crazy cycle.

Afm- thanks all for the well wishes. Got 23 retrieved! That's waaayyyy more than we were expecting, although I'm assuming many were just itty bitty and not yet mature. Will find out tomorrow how many fertilize!
  • Hi all - love hearing everyone's good news.  We just got a call from the RE saying that they were able to biopsy one blastocyst (out of the 12 embryos).  One.  Ugh.  I'm so sad.  I know that all it takes is one, but it's still disappointing to go from 12 to one.  They said there are a "few" that are still growing and they are going to check them again later today or tomorrow.  Anyone else who has done embryo biopsy have a similar experience?  During our first IVF, we had 10 embryos and only ended up with two blasts.  Neither of which resulted in a pregnancy.  So we're nervous.

Need some positive thoughts sent our way - thank you in advance!

September 2015 - BFP (ended at 6.5 weeks in chemical pregnancy)
    February 2016 - FET (BFN)
September 2016 - second IVF cycle (19 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 12 fertilized, 1 blast)
    Diagnosis: unexplained infertility

  • @kjones202 I can totally see why that is upsetting. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and vibes. Hopefully your others keep growing and the one you have is strong!!

@mous 23! Wow! That's awesome. Hoping for lots of mature ones.

AFM, I'm a bit frustrated. Through my insurance, they did a blood screen last week which showed my iron is up to were it needs to be. So hopefully the dr will accept those results and we can cross that off the list. The bad news is that my genetic testing came back today and I tested as a carrier of Canavan Disease and Familiar Dysautonomia. Neither of which I've ever heard of, but sound just plain awful based on what I read. Now DH needs to get tested and 1. That could take two weeks and my period is due next week, 2. He could test positive and then what.

I know the big picture is thank goodness they have the screening for that so we can be proactive about it before hand, but the thought of yet another delay really stinks. Like all of us, we just want to be pregnant yesterday.

  • Wow, it's pretty cool to see everyone's journey unfold. I want to wish everyone continued strength and peace throughout the process.
AFM - had my baseline today. No cysts. He counted 15 follicles on the L and 20 on the R, but I think I read somewhere that only about half will end up being productive so not really thinking too much about that. Waiting on the call regarding my blood work but I'm pretty sure I was given the green light to start stims on Friday. He also mentioned that there may the be likely event we need to freeze because of OHSS. I have been kinda mentally preparing myself for that possibility but I'm hoping it's not what happens. Any advice on how to prevent it? I've read Gatorade, lots of fluids, then fluid restriction, high protein... so much info out there it's hard to discern what I can do to hopefully ward it off.
I am also unable to pay for acupuncture, but there is this great "foot spa" near me that just opened and a 60 min foot massage is $30. I think I'll just get foot massages a couple times a week!? Hopefully it's not sketchy but worth a try to stay relaxed
  • @kjones202- sending you so many positive thoughts! I hope some more make it to biopsy and that the one embryo is perfectly normal. Hang in there!

@isthisthereallife- there always seems to be something :( hoping they can get his test results back asap and they are normal. If he is a carrier, I assume they can do PGD testing on any embryos to screen for it? I would hope his results wouldnt delay the cycle because it would still be like 12-14 days after AF before ER and regardless of the results you still have to get the eggs...

  • How many follicles is too many? My is E2 is close to 5000 with 40 follicles. I'm afraid of Ohss!
  • @BecauseLove Doxy is super strong so plenty of water and a full belly will help. Im not big on taking medication, ironically enough, so maybe try some ginger candies to help?

    @kjones202 Toes and FX!

@kwolf002  I kind of had the opposite question.  I have like 15 follies and I'm triggering tonight.

AFM, i'm triggering tonight.  Going for my lost soon and blood work tomorrow morning.  I'm happy that today will be my last injection.  I'm so done with injections already.  I blame the hormones because I am so emotional - not cranky, which i'm happy about! LOL.  My ER is Wednesday morning.  I'm scared and nervous about the whole thing.   Maybe i'm still emotional over last night's Walking Dead.
