Re: October/November IVF

  • @ChristinaV2015 Fx!
    @Winnie81 Welcome!
    @Colleen0516 Good luck!

For me-I had ER yesterday. Still crampy and tired, but it's over.
They retrieved 15 eggs, fertilized 9. I'm pretty happy about this. Next eggs are freezing and getting tested with PGS so we'll follow up in a few weeks with our RE. Trying to stay positive!
    33yrs old, married '14, TTC 2yr.

  • Hi all!  Update from me - Egg Retrieval is tomorrow morning at 10:45.  Had about 13 follicles measuring, most in my right ovary.  Left ovary was really slow to the game this time.  Feeling bloated and cranky and ready to get these things out and hopefully fertilized.  Best of luck to the rest of you on your journey!  You all rock.
    TTC since November 2013
    5 failed IUIs
February 2015 - BFP naturally (ended at 5 weeks in chemical pregnancy)
August 2015 - first IVF cycle (14 eggs retrieved, 10 mature, 10 fertilized, 2 blasts)
September 2015 - BFP (ended at 6.5 weeks in chemical pregnancy)
    February 2016 - FET (BFN)
September 2016 - second IVF cycle (19 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 12 fertilized, 1 blast)
    Diagnosis: unexplained infertility

  • @JamieH2000 and @spring512 thank you both for the warm welcome!

TTC #1: March 2011 (slightly before)
    Fur-children: 3 dogs + 2 cats (all rescued)
    dx: Endometriosis and Fibroids
2 Laps and 1 Abdominal Myomectomy
    6 rounds of clomid
    5 rounds of iui
Several HSG's sprinkled throughout the years to up my chances of a BFP
Several dilation of cervix because they suspect the scar tissue is hindering it from fully opening (partially adds to the severe cramps all month)
IVF #1 Gonal F, Menopur and Cetrotide
    ER 12/1/2016
    ER-Retrieved 22 eggs 10 fertilized
4/4 day 5 embryos were normal for PGS!!! 2 boys/2 girls
    FET 1/10/2017
    Gallbladder surgery 1/10/2017
FET estimated end of Feb, beginning of March

  • @colleen0516- Yay!! So excited for you and can't wait to hear how it goes!

ChristinaV2015 - congrats on being PUPO! and having a lot left to freeze! When is your beta?

@jodes727- I haven't gotten to transfer ever, so no advice, but hope everything goes smoothly for you at the next apt!

spring512 - congrats on ER! 9 is a great number. FX for great PGS results!

kjones202 - good luck tomorrow! Are you doing a fresh or frozen transfer?

Isthisthereallife - The med delivery can be overwhelming, but hopefully they give you what is needed to get lots of eggs/embryos. How is the red meat/liver/raisin diet going?

@Rmarble23- I have you down as beta today! Good luck and let us know how it goes! Hoping you are our first BFP of the group!

AFM- AF decided to come today, so I go in tomorrow for baseline and likely start stims tomorrow. I am hoping for a good AFC tomorrow, though I have heard that Estrogen Priming can make you start with less follies, but then they come later on.... just going to have to remind myself to stay calm and not stress. This will be hard since in my last cycle, each monitoring appointment gave me worse news. Trying to stay hopeful... but its hard sometimes after my last experience.

  • Hi all! I'm going to jump onto this board as well, since I'm hoping that *something* will be able to get started in November! Just added my info to the spreadsheet.

Hi again to all of those that I know from previous months, and hi and welcome to those that are new!
  • Hello ladies! I joined the board the night before I started my injections but had to wait until I could post! This is my first cycle of IVF. I was so nervous but I'm happy to say I'm feeling pretty well and happy. When does the crankiness set in? My husband isn't looking forward to that. My ER is set for sometime between the 24th and 26th. I'm scared about that. But you all give great support here and I hope that I can do the same for someone. Good luck and baby dust to all
  • rmarble23 yay!!! Congrats!!! When is your next beta? Can't wait to watch that climb!

@JamieH2000 I'm glad AF came and you get to start!! Good luck!! It's gonna be great and we're all here for you!

Kp214 oh no!!! That really stinks. I've never had it, but I hear it's not fun. I hope you feel better really soon!

Thinking it's going to be a weekend retrieval/hopeful 5 day transfer sometime next week.... My issues are tubal, I've had three ectopic pregnancies and my first IVF resulted in a miscarraige at 12 weeks. The others didn't take. I'm currently with a new RE and my protocol is lupron, menopur and follistim. GL to everyone:)

  • mandasand - how did your baseline go? Hoping that AF miraculously showed up over night!

@kjones202 and @Colleen0516- Can't wait to hear how ER went! Hope you are both resting comfy at home now!

lrynwnab - glad stims are going good? when is your next apt? Hoping for lots of growth for you!!

caseyw8784- Good to "see" you again and really hope you can get started in Nov!

Knottie42f33742093f9c95- welcome! Glad stims are going good and you are only 1 week from ER! Keep us posted!

taradise99 - Definitely join our group! Wow, I am so amazed by your strength (and anyone who has gone through this multiple times). I really hope that this is your cycle. I think to add a siggy, you just click on the little torso figure in the top right (preferences) and then there is signature settings.

AFM, baseline went ok I think (still waiting on the call back with doses). My AFC is 9.. I wish it was more of course ... but hoping we can get most of those to grow and actually get to retrieval this time. I start stims tonight (Follistim, low dose HCG, micro dose Lupron, Dexamethasone, and Human Growth Hormone). We are throwing everything at this so just praying it works. I am finding myself to be very anxious this time.. and not sure how to de-stress really since everything is so out of my control. I am going to accunpuncture twice a week instead of once, but I just want this so bad its hard not to continually think about it.

  • Welcome to the newcomers!  I hope this is your cycle.

@Colleen0516 15 is great!  Eager to hear the fertilization report.

@JamieH2000 9 is a good AFC.  I've read with estrogen priming that more follicles can appear later during stims and that follicles tend to be good quality.  Hoping these are both true for you and myself.

  • @rmarble23 congrats!!! That is wonderful. So happy for you!!!

@Colleen0516  Glad to hear everything went well, 15 is a great number

AFM  My weekend was bittersweet. My sister in law just announced that she is expecting. She's been married and trying for a whopping 2 months, so that hit me a bit harder than I expected. I am extremely happy for her, I just wish things were that easy for me. FX this IVF works and we can raise sweet babies together.
Anyway... I had an ultrasound and blood work this morning, depending on how things come back I'll either be triggering tonight or tomorrow with ER on Thurs or Fri. Fingers crossed for good quality/amount of eggs! Then I'll have my transfer sometime mid Nov :)

@JamieH2000 You have a great plan in with a great doctor/lab! :) I know it's hard to destress, but do your best to keep the faith going. You have an idea of what to expect this round and hopefully all the steps you've taken have set this round up for success. Thinking of you!!

@kp214- I really hope that is true about EPP! Any update about ovulation? Hoping you can get started soon!

JuliaAnn86- that is so hard when close friends and family announce. So happy for them, so sad for us always :( That is exciting you are triggering tomorrow! I believe they switch people to a lupron trigger if OHSS is a risk, so your estrogen was probably pretty high.

Isthisthereallife- thanks girl :) the support from all the ladies helps me keep it in perspective. Its so nice to have others understand this process when no one else does! How many more days of BC for you?

Anyone else doing micro dose lupron instead of an antagonist to prevent ovulation? I just realized now I get to take both morning and night shots. Lucky me :)

  • Congrats to the ladies on their retrievals today!!  So excited for fert reports!!

@rmarble23 congrats! Starting off the group with a BFP!

@JamieH2000 my Beta is 10/25, can't come soon enough

AFM: found out yesterday that I have 2 snowflakes if we need them later... staying positive that this cycle worked!  I'm super overly emotional and cry for literally everything.  Trying not to symptom spot!

Any of you ladies planning on POAS prior to your beta appointment?
  • @JamieH2000 I am taking microdose lupron with Gonal F every day. No ganirelix for me. So many shots! My next appt isn't until Monday. Sooo long to wait.

@Colleen0516 congrats on getting 15 eggs!
  • @JamieH2000 woke up this morning and knew AF was going to come! Had my baseline this morning. He saw 8 follies for sure which is the highest it's been the last year of ultrasounds! TMI - Doc took out the ultrasound wand and there was lots of that gross brown blood that I get my first day of AF! So I officially started! Haha! Had to wait around over an hour while they filled all my prescriptions. I had to pick up the Lupron at another pharmacy because it's not covered at the military clinic, but it was only $98. I start Lupron Thursday then add Menopur and Gonal-F on Saturday. First blood work on the 25th then they will call me with instructions on continued injections. I'll probably have another US on the 27th.

  • ChristinaV2015 - two snow flakes is awesome! Hopefully you won't need them (soon at least), but I think that having some frozen takes a little bit of the stress out of the TWW hopefully.

lrynwnab - have you started the Lupron yet? I have only done it last night and this morning, and so far headaches both times after :( this could be a long two weeks. My next appointment isn't until Sunday which feels like its a long ways off. What is your dose of Gonal F? I am going to be on the max dose of follistim (450) so I really hope this works.

mandasand - YAY YAY YAY! So happy you can get started and aren't delayed!! Sounds like you will be on micro dose Lupron as well? I think there are going to be a few of us with ER around 11/1ish!

@JamieH2000 No BC for me...just waiting for my cycle to start naturally. I think I ovulated a few days ago and I'm guessing I should see AF around the 31st-3rdish. My natural cycles, however, are pretty long and unpredictable so who knows. I can't wait to get started! I'm sorry you got the headaches with the Lupron. Are you able to take advil or anything?

@JamieH2000 yep...Lupron protocol! I'm doing 20u am and pm, 300u Gonal-F (they decided to switch from Follistim to gonal), 2 doses of menupor...double concentrated (1cc of liquid, 2 vials of powder).

My sister did IVF 10 years ago, she told me she had a bad reaction to Lupron. Hoping that doesn't happen to me!

On on top of all the anxiety of course I'm exhausted and have cramps from being on my period. I tried to get my work projects in a good place so that I could take it easy but that hasn't worked out as well as I wanted...I manage a department and on top of my projects, supervising a whole team is exhausting right now! Yesterday after by baseline and getting my 1st set of meds, I had to meet the team at an offsite meeting, then go over to another pharmacy to fill the Lupron, then go into work, I didn't get into the office until 3 pm. If anyone has been to San Diego, traffic is terrible. I was pretty exhausted. My next two weeks are filled with meetings, my goal of "taking it easy" isn't panning out!

    @Colleen0516 yay! Great numbers!

I'm curious for those that may have already had their retrieval - how many follies did the doctor see at your baseline versus what they retrieved after stimulation?

  • Bummer for taking shots in the morning and night! I started cetrotide this morning. Hopefully that's not time dependent because I like to sleep in a bit on the weekends. Thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet @JamieH2000
  • I did Lupron last cycle, it worked for me! I got pregnant, but it was ectopic (But it was still a pregnancy) She didnt like my embryo quality though and wanted to try a different protocol so we switched it up this round. It worked! I retrieved more eggs than ever before. Everyone is different, everyone needs to find their protocol!!

  • I was wondering, how far in advance did you figure out what stims you would be taking? I am so new to this that i have no idea. They have my AMH level which is 6.25, and my sonohysterogram is going to be around the 27th. I just want to make sure i get enough time to shop around for the best pharmacy price since this is 100% out of pocket for us  :#

TTC #1: March 2011 (slightly before)
    Fur-children: 3 dogs + 2 cats (all rescued)
    dx: Endometriosis and Fibroids
2 Laps and 1 Abdominal Myomectomy
    6 rounds of clomid
    5 rounds of iui
Several HSG's sprinkled throughout the years to up my chances of a BFP
Several dilation of cervix because they suspect the scar tissue is hindering it from fully opening (partially adds to the severe cramps all month)
