@floatingelephy oh man it was SUPER cheap and from homedepot.com I had even purchased the under rug not slip all over the place thing and didn't need it because it had one built in!
@PerraSucia I see the difference in colour now! Duh... haha. Sadly I'm in Canada and $80 would probably get me a welcome mat. I was thinking $246 WAS a really good price.
Guys!! It's coming together and I love it so much!
I gave up on the aqua rug, as we tried 3 different places and found nothing close to the color we wanted in the size we needed; but, we are still doing aqua accents everywhere.
The next part is really hardest for me, so I'm hoping my SIL can help me pick the decor for the walls. I really suck at it, but I want it to look nicely tied together!
Also, the pile of stuff on the tall dresser are all the really dark colored cloth diapers, since I started diaper prepping last night! I'm extremely excited about that too, (and apparently a big 'ole AW) so I'll post a stash shot once I'm all done prepping and stuffing!
Baby girl has a guard elephant above her crib I yesterday decided that I want to add in some additional art work so I have some prints that I will frame and place around the room. I think I want to put a few small ones on the wall above the elephant so she has more to look at...maybe some owls
So question on sleeping arrangements for the baby -- are people just doing a crib, a crib and bassinet, both? FTM, and trying to figure out what the best option is (safety, comfort, development, etc.).

I'm doing a crib and a pack n play with a basdinet attachment. That way the baby can sleep with us for a few months before we transition her to the crib.
We will have a crib in babies room and a pack and play in our room so the baby will room in with us for the first couple months, then get moved into the crib in her room.
I'm doing a crib in her room, and a pack n play in ours. She will sleep in the PnP in our room for at least 6 months (maybe a year) but I'll have the crib set up in her room probably for naps and stuff!
Also, I am so excited because when DD was about 3 I gave her glider away to a pregnant friend. She texted me last night and asked if I wanted it back... UMM YES!!! Yay, one less thing to buy!

We have a cot (crib) for the babys room & a cosleeper cot for beside our bed for the first few months. Not sure how long we'll keep her in our room before moving to her own, kinda thinking up til shes 6months? FTM aswell so playing it by ear.
FTM & +1 team bassinet in our room & then to the crib. The AAP just released a SIDs update suggesting at least 6 months (ideally 12) sleeping in the parents room, so now we'll probably start the crib in our room.
Also, Heck yeah my $50 ottoman and 30% off rug match the nursery. You're gonna have to trust me on the rug, I'm not unrolling that sucker.
I saw that AAP update, I think it's great! For me, middle of the night feedings are so much easier when they're in my room. I'm also fine with co-sleeping as they get older. But the kids rooms are all upstairs and if the baby is crying the whole time I'm getting up there, it will be that much harder to get her to settle!

I was about to say the same thing about the new recommendation. Even without the recommendation it just makes sense to me. oh and we only have a 1 bedroom apartment, anyways!
@WinchesterGirl - I think I remember reading that you chose to go with the "Charlotte" glider and ottoman from BRU. That's the one I had chosen online (in Graphite) but never got to sit in it. Is it super comfy? What color is yours, now I'm thinking I might need to go with the lighter gray since our furniture is dark.
@imalwaysme79 It is fantastic! I'm a shorty, so a need a bolster pillow behind my back. But seriously I could just about nap in it, and it is my favorite seat in the house now! I hear that's a good thing, since we'll all be spending endless hours sitting in them once our LOs are born.
I believe ours is in the color "stone"? It is actually the color of the floor model in our store - we didn't special order a different color.

Ceiling, walls and trim are officially painted! The curtains were my grandma's (the original Betty) so I like that Baby Betty will have them. H is cleaning the carpet now and then I get to move in the dresser and crib. Glider shopping next weekend-- a Christmas present from my parents :-)
2nd picture is from before the trim was done but shows the color better.
@Gretchypoo those curtains are still in great shape! I really like the way everything came out, it looks so nice! It look very warm and peaceful in that room and that's even without the furniture being in there yet.
I really love the colour @Gretchypoo. Any of the tester pots ive got so far seem far too light & cold but im worried going darker will make the room too small & dark
@Gretchypoo that looks exactly like the color for my little girl nursery!! What other color accents are you going to use? I want to use some pink, but I want to throw in a few more too and I can't decide.

We' re doing pastels with some navy blue to darken it up. Im loving salmon pink, yellows and greens/ blues. We're not making it hyper girly. I'm going to make some cloud shelves and hot air ballons to put up :-)

Navy is a good idea actually!! I was thinking the yellow and green too. Funny about the hot air balloons, I almost bought the Balloon Ride bedding set from Target this weekend!!

We almost got it too! my mom is making us a quilt, tho
Finally worked on the nursery a bit today. Mainly to avoid doing other cleaning I probably should have been doing. Haha. Put the crib together and went through the baby stuff we have and organized it in the closet so I know what exactly I still need to do and what I need to get. I sat in the rocker for a while afterwards and just rocked and stared at the crib. In three months a lot of us will have had our babies! Or be having them within a couple weeks. That's crazy! it's not a huge room, but the dresser will go next to the rocker I'll have a changing pad on it and then the mirror I've been working on painting the frame of. The little book stand thing next to the chair will be getting painted mint and will have a small lamp, a few bedtime stories, and probably my little basket with nursing supplies. Obviously I will have to put up curtains and blinds as well. THinking about trying to find some throw pillows and a small rug to help pull everything together. The closet looks crazy packed because of the baby stuff from dd that's put together. Like the ever saucer takes up a ton of room.
@PerraSucia We did it diy. At first we were marking the wall for chevron, and than we decided to keep marking the wall to see what else we could do. The whole wall was covered in chalk lines. The hard part was taping. It took us the more time to tape than it did to mark the wall and paint.
Re: The Nursery Thread
I start painting tonight--we'll see how much I get done before E's mom arrives tonight for an unexpected visit.

This thread makes me feel so inadequate. My nursery still looks like a Babies R Us stockroom after a minor earthquake.
