@Shiva14 Was it you who mentioned a week or two ago that you might be induced due to high fluid levels? I'm in a similar boat and am wondering what you and your OB chose to do (assuming I have the right person in the first place...)!
Also, BTDT Moms - The day before I went into labor with DD, I was sick to my stomach and just generally felt "off" all day. I've heard other Moms echo this experience so it's almost what I've been waiting for - a day where I feel just generally miserable - as a sign of labor on the horizon. But then I realized perhaps it's really not that way for everyone... Has anyone experienced labor without the sick / miserable feeling beforehand? Like went to bed one night feeling normal as can be (at 9 months pregnant) and woke up in labor? Or, even crazier, had a perfectly normal day only to go into labor that same evening? Just curious to hear others' experiences...
@JennM205 So I was just wondering about this, this morning. I'm the opposite though. I feel so completely off and gross today, but can't pinpoint what's wrong. I feel nauseous and just generally off. It's not just fatigue either. Just blah. I've heard others say they've felt like this before labor, but I can't remember what exactly I feeling like with my girls. Basically at this point, I'm hopeful that anything is a sign of impending labor.
Not really sure where to put this but thought it might be helpful. I know in the past people were talking about grooming prior to labor shave/wax. I got my very detail plan for my csection, in it is very strict process of showering the night before and morning of plus shaving. Absolutely no shaving of the area as any nick can cause potential risk for infection. Might be something to keep in mind even if planing normal labor just in case the unexpected happens.
@asht Interesting. I got strict instructions, too (c/s is tomorrow afternoon) and mine don't mention anything about shaving (or not shaving as the case may be).
It must vary from hospital to hospital, but I can see why it might be a good idea to skip shaving or at least be very careful.
I know my first one they shave me bald. Was pretty shocked when I felt down there. This one says if they need it trimmed they will do it. I will prob do it tonight and not again before, the thought of not having it at least trimmed and the mess after isn't appealing to me
Having some intense BHs steady about five minutes apart for the last hour. I don't want this to be real labor. I really really hope that she will stay put at least until my OB can do the c/s. I do not want to end up with an emergency section tonight by a complete stranger.
@TheTamedShrewFingers crossed your contractions don't pick back up. This past month has been totally weird for me too. I went from feeling perfectly fine to having constant BH, tightness and lightning crotch. I can't believe I still have four weeks of this...
@JennM205 I had no symptoms prior to labor. The whole day went as normal, and I even remember telling my MIL, mom, and grandma that it was clear from how I felt that I'd be lasting until my scheduled induction date. Water broke seemingly out of nowhere with having no prior contractions. It was an obvious break as well. It actually worries me that I wouldn't actually recognize labor this time since last was so completely obvious that I didn't have to second guess it.
@camichael84 I actually feel the exact same way! When I was feeling sick the day before DD was born, I had a sneaking suspicion something was up. I woke the next morning undeniably in labor. There were no false alarms, no second guessing, none of what I've had this last month with all the BH and false *hope... It's so much harder this time to know what's really real. Though maybe that's because I haven't encountered it yet. Maybe when I do, it'll be like, "Oh. Yeah. THIS is the real deal." (Let's hope!)
*When I say hope I don't want it to be misconstrued. I'm not 39 weeks yet and certainly don't wish for an early-term baby. It's just hope in reference that my body is sending real signals at the right time.

Yes it was! We are doing a follow up US this Friday to see if they are any higher or have gone down. I am only borderline at 24, otherwise I would have had the scan sooner. I'm not sure exactly where we'll go from there if they are high still but I have researched it quite a bit. The biggest risk factors seem to be umbilical prolapse (umbilical cord gets "sucked" out with all the water ahead of baby and is obstructed by baby's head) which is why they tell you you need to go to the hospital immediately if you have high fluids and your water breaks. However it still seems like the risks are fairly low. I'm almost an hour from the hospital and will likely have a very fast labor, so that is playing into their consideration. There are a few other scary risks as well but again, although they are twice the normal risk they are still pretty low.
That being said, whatever my OB says on Friday I am going to go with. I will be sure to update. Did your OB mention monitoring you any further and do you know what your levels were?
@JennM205 (sorry for double posting) I had many days of contractions and playing the guessing game but actually had no symptoms the day I went into labor. My water broke as I was getting ready for bed and then the "real" contractions started immediately after.
Guys I'm not sure but I think maybe possibly my water broke, I'm waiting to see if it stops or if it continues or what before I go to L&D but yeah this is what's going on this morning
@Megan324 ahhh! How many weeks are you again? More sweet babies (maybe). When my water broke it only trickled a teeny weeny bit, then baby's head blocked it, so even if it's just a small portion it could still have broken. Did you feel a pop or are you having any contractions?
@Shiva14 wow I didn't even know that was a possibility with excessive fluid. Yikes! Glad to hear the risk is low. Wishing you the best! I haven't even had an ultrasound since like 20 weeks. Did they find that early on?
@Megan324 how are you feeling now? Thinking of you!
@Shiva14@rock1cherry I'm 37+5 so it's still too early!!! I woke up at 5am and I just felt wet. It hasn't really stopped feeling like that so I just put on a pad and we will see if I'm just peeing or if it's really my water!
That's a good idea @Megan324 our hospital suggested I do that as well if I'm not sure. Guess it depends how wet you were. I sweat a ton sleeping and I've had extra wetness down there for a while too. I sometimes wake up and wonder oh shit is this it? Nope... Fingers crossed its not go time. Cool little one cook!!
Hey ladies! I'm currently at the hospital just getting prepped for my induction. Just waiting to see if we are starting with cervidal or going straight to pitocin and breaking my water. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can skip cervidal! I'll keep y'all posted when labour starts!
@Megan324 if this is it, baby will be fine! I know it's still early term and you'd like to wait another week or two, but at this stage you should have a normal, short hospital stay and bring home baby with you. Good luck and keep us posted!
@rock1cherry my fundal height was almost 3 weeks ahead so they ordered a growth scan at 35 weeks and found it there. They obviously weren't too concerned since they scheduled my second scan two weeks later and not a week later, but they want to make sure it's gone down or at least stayed the same.
I am in L&D. I'm having regular contractions and they are about to check me to see if it's really my water or not! Ahhhh Baby is doing great though he isn't in distress

I've got my IV in and I'm getting pumped full of fluids. Just hanging out on an NST, waiting for them to do my epidural and get me into surgery.
Apparently my blood pressure has decided to go high, which sucks but everything else is fine.
Baby B had the hiccups (heard it on the heart rate monitor) and now he's sleeping. I think he's conserving his energy so he can be a wild child once he's on the outside.
@MojieJo Good luck today! Can't wait for pics of your boys!
@Megan324 Good luck to you as well! Keep us posted on what they say but looks like today might be the day!
@LizC216 I meant to respond yesterday but got sidetracked. Feeling any better today?
@Shiva14 Thanks for the info! My levels were 25.4...so just barely outside acceptable range. Last week, my OB was suggesting I strongly consider induction. Today, a different doctor made it seem unnecessary unless I go past 41 weeks. So at this point, I'm happy letting baby decide. I've always been fearful of induction and I feel the risks of complications from the high fluids are low enough to not intervene.
False Alarm! Womp womp. just lots of discharge and CM. (At least it wasn't pee lol) I'm half happy because it's early and I want him to keep cooking and half disappointed because I was getting excited to meet him today. Thanks for all the well wishes guys-- I swear next time will be for real!

@JennM205 I actually seem to get a huge burst of energy the day before labor and get a lot done.
