Don't worry @Megan324 two weeks ago I went in and they said it was just pee. It happens! He will be here soon enough!! How about the contractions though?
@seitzy3 they didn't really say much except that he was reacting really well to them, his heart rate would accelerate like the perfect amount for how strong they were. so that was good to hear!
@Megan324 better safe than sorry! Glad you are able to look at it from the bright side of longer cook time for baby. Before you know it it'll be the real deal
Also, BTDT Moms - The day before I went into labor with DD, I was sick to my stomach and just generally felt "off" all day. I've heard other Moms echo this experience so it's almost what I've been waiting for - a day where I feel just generally miserable - as a sign of labor on the horizon. But then I realized perhaps it's really not that way for everyone... Has anyone experienced labor without the sick / miserable feeling beforehand? Like went to bed one night feeling normal as can be (at 9 months pregnant) and woke up in labor? Or, even crazier, had a perfectly normal day only to go into labor that same evening? Just curious to hear others' experiences...
Edited because words.
Yes. I had a normal day (or a day that was no more miserable than any other day once you're past due) and my water broke as I was going to bed.
@JennM205 Thanks for checking. I actually feel almost worse today. The nausea is really bad. I had to go find my ginger gum that I was chewing in the first tri for my morning sickness. Now my stomach is churning, too. I'm actually wondering if it's a bug or something I ate.
And I feel bad about my reply to your post yesterday. I didn't really have much to contribute to your question. I think I just got excited at hearing that someone was feeling like I was before going into labor. My brain isn't functioning as well as it does when not pregnant!
@LizC216 Sorry to hear you're feeling worse! I really hope you start to feel better asap! And don't feel bad about your response to my post!! We're all here to share anything and everything, right!? I felt your response was more than appropriate and was hoping, for your sake, that it would turn into some baby-related news!!
@MrsVoorhees Did your labor start with your water breaking or contractions? It may be just me but it seems there's a pattern to those whose water breaks in that they feel just dandy beforehand...whereas labor starting with contractions seems more likely to begin with a general ill-feeling. (This is by no means a scientific hypothesis, haha - just a pattern that seems to be developing...)
@JennM205 I felt fine day before going into labor, had an ultrasound did some errands, never expected to go into labor spontaneously. Woke up the next day at 8am with contractions about 5-7 minutes apart and I think water broke sometime during labor. I had never felt a contraction before that day.
@AnnaS930 Thanks for sharing - you are a definitely exception to my un-scientifically recognized pattern. Haha. In reality, it's all a crapshoot, isn't it!? Six of one, half dozen of another. Maybe it's just time to stop trying to predict the unknown (easier said than done). Too bad these giant bellies don't also come with crystal balls...
Babies are here! I just got wheeled to my room from recovery.
I won't have pictures until family gets to see them (so tomorrow, maybe), but they were born at 11:56 and 11:57 AM and are 8 lb (wow!) and 5 lb, 10 oz.
They've both got hair (one black, one reddish brown) and are cute as can be!
We haven't decided who's getting which name yet.
Extra added bonuses: they removed the giant mole on my ribs that I've wanted gone for ages while I was in the OR and apparently I have scoliosis (news to me). So, yay?
Don't feel embarrassed @Megan324 you did the right thing about going in to get checked. Today's not the day, but it's not long now! You've got this!
@MojieJo congrats mama! Can't believe the size difference between them! They sound perfect though and I can't wait to see pics! Enjoy! Glad everything went smoothly.
Yay @MojieJo!!! Congratulations!! @JennM205 I was having a perfectly normal happy day the day before ds2 came and my water never broke. He was literally born in the sac! I just woke in the middle of the night with contractions.

@MojieJo so excited for you! They sound precious, what a beautiful thing. I can't imagine being pregnant and then getting TWO squishes, yay! Enjoy those snuggles and I hope you recover quickly. If you want, you can still post briefly on the announcements thread and edit to add pics tomorrow. No pressure though, I know you're a busy mama now!
@MojieJo Congrats! Glad it all went well, and can't wait to see your baby boys!
@Megan324 Don't feel bad about going in! Better safe than sorry, and I know it happens to a lot of women where they'll go in thinking their water broke, and it's pee or discharge. The hospital is used to it. I was excited as I was reading through your posts, but I'm also glad baby boy will get to cook longer!
@MojieJo - Yay for babies!!!! So glad everyone is doing well. And they're great sizes!! I can't wait to see your little men....congratulations momma!!!
Last check an hour ago I was 5cm. The cervidal through me into actual labour with only 1 min in between contractions. My Dr said she has only ever seen 4 people go into active labour from cervidal. I got my epidural at 2:45pm and my water broke by itself a few seconds after. I'm so happy they didn't have to do it for me. They took the cervidal out so now it's all me. So the cervidal went in at 10:00am, contractions started at 10:30 so not so bad at all for an induction time wise!
