I've been sitting on an exercise ball for at least half of each workday, then for maybe an hour in the evening as well hoping I can get baby boy to engage his head. I'm 99.99999% sure that at my appointment on Thursday my OB will have to be up to her elbow checking me and will once again shake her head and say "nothing happening. head still floating around" which I 100% know is totally OK and maybe even ideal at 38 weeks along (my body really likes to stay pregnant), but I also know that I will have tears when I get back into my car.
This sounds like a pity party. Do not sympathize with me, going past a due date is a gazillion times more ideal than delivering early. I know this. I need to get over it. Just need to remember that I'm done with work next Friday regardless and will deal with shifting time off to make that work. I'm so done here!
Fiancé gets major points. I guess he found my excel sheet where I made an inventory of everything we own and what we need to buy, saw what we needed and when he was at the store he remembered we need a new food processor and bought one!
This is so unlike him to do so I was floored.
I also have an excel spread sheet!! I found a list of "necessary" baby items (I think it was a target baby registry thing) and wrote them all in, made columns for "have" "on registry" "don't need" "will buy later". Major points to your FI! That's amazing
@geminigirl16 You are definitely not alone in your feelings of 'OMG, this is happening!' I've definitely hit the freak-out mode more than once in the last two weeks. As I get closer to 37 weeks (Friday) I know it'll just increase. Thankfully DH is super excited about meeting our LO so that helps calm the anxiety.
Congrats to all the new mamas!!! The huge influx of babies coming also make it feel more real. I love seeing all the squishy cuteness and now cannot wait to hold mine (even though we still have to put the carseat bases in, finish packing the hospital bag, finish washing clothes....Ok breathe, breathe...)
@MojieJo Good luck at the dentist - I am not a fan either and am thinking of you. Also (incase I'm not on) good luck on your planned C-section - can't wait to see your boys!
@AnnaS930 So jealous of your fall weather feeling! We were there yesterday but have gone back up to 90s today. However, yesterday made me even more excited to have a Fall baby and share all Fall things with them.
@blondie080300 Thanks for the support and reminding me that my doctor mentioned the same thing. A fully effaced cervix should mean a shorter, easier labour which is a definite positive. I guess in my head I keep telling myself that I have till 41 weeks and I'm not sure that's the case anymore. This is the kick in the butt that I need to finish the remaining items on my to-do list. Also, good luck with your rash - hope it's nothing serious!
@JennM205 I think there was something in the air last night. I too, slept blissfully last night from 9:30 to 7 am waking only once to pee and crunch a couple of Tums. Now I need to follow your productive lead!
Hope the BP drops for you @themaritimemama and that you aren't induced today. And good luck with the dental work @mojiejo I hate dental work on a good day let alone pregnant and right before an induction.
I hope eveyone has a great day today! Trying to strike a lot of tasks off my list today - wish me luck!
ETA: @LakeR2014 Sounds like you and I have a lot of the same feelings and remaining items left! Good luck, we've got it this!!
@AnnaS930 Reese was way the eff up there until the day I went into labor. Eight hours later and there she was. I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and baby is still hanging out super high. Hang in there. Labor can happen in no time.
I had blurry vision again this morning, during which time I tried to do my makeup. (I have limited time to get it done before Hurricane Reese descends on me and demands to play with my brushes.) It went away after 20 minutes so I'm riding it out until my appointment at 1:15 today.
I had different insurance with my last pregnancy and they had much better customer service. I am trying to get my breast pump ordered. I sent a message to my insurance provider asking what is covered and what providers are in-network. They said that for in network providers, 100% of the maximum covered allowed amount is covered. What is the maximum allowed amount? It then gave me 2 websites for in-network providers. On one website, the provider says that it doesn't support my insurance. The other website isn't even loading. So frustrating!

Yes, this was 100% my experience too. With E I had a checkup on a Thursday, was somewhat effaced and 1cm, and Saturday morning woke with first contractions, 4cm by 10am when I check in, he was born by 8pm after a very easy labor. I'm definitely a person who goes from 0 to full in a reasonably short amount of time. I am just dreading that all occurring 10 days past due again! hahaha I'm being a baby basically
@AnnaS930 I get it. Late pregnancy just sucks all around and the whole unknown of when it will happen makes it even worse.
Yes! It's the unknown. I have been super lucky with an easy pregnancy, and if someone said right now "you're 38 weeks, but have 3 more weeks until your baby will arrive" I could totally swallow that. The 0-4 week range at this point is overwhelming. I don't like surprises...
@marajay6 Do you have a Target nearby? Their breast pump program was awesome and took care of everything for me. You call in and give them your insurance info, they check eligibility and email you once they confirm. Then, you just tell them which pump you want (although I think your only options are the Medela PISA and the Ameda Purely Yours), they process the order, and you pick it up for free at your local Target. For me, it took less than a full day, although they say it can take 2-3 business days to process.
@marajay6 - not sure which websites you're using.. I've used yummymummy.com and www.breastpumps.aeroflowinc.com both with no hassle, but that might have been due to having easy insurance (Aetna)
Pretty sure I burned/blistered my finger on my hair while straightening it this morning...
On another note: Late September mamas, what would you think about getting a "Still Pregnant" or something of the like thread going in the semi near future? It's hard to stay patient with all these adorable new squish babies on the board and mamas making progress and/or being weeks ahead. This might just be my own pity party, but thoughts??
@PSUBecky23 I bought some super, super cheap makeup brushes and put them with mine, and DD totally doesn't see that they're not the same brushes so I do my makeup and she "does hers". I love manipulation.
Also, @AnnaS930 DD1 was super high until everything was done. Meaning, fully effaced, fully dilated, ready to go, but no head in place. She dropped eventually
@AmMcc12 - Honestly, thank goodness I've been due at the beginnings of months each time as I get really impatient/jealous as babies start being born in rapid succession. I think that's a great idea as it can't be easy to be a "few weeks behind" the trend of the board!

Yeah, freaking tell me about it, September 30th.... Killing me.
@AmMcc12 Great idea! I have to remind myself that I'm only 35 weeks. I tell people who ask IRL "just a few more weeks", but it's really still a month to go.

@Jabreen & @AnnaS930 - thanks for the tips. A little bit of Googling and I found the correct link for one of the companies recommended by my insurance. I have my pump ordered.
@cassloumy - well on the plus side, visiting the gyno with your SIL can't get much grosser/more detailed than we get on here.... or can it? Do you know if the doctor's office you're taking her to can offer free translators? Mine does if you request it in advance (for future visits, obviously).
Actually, I learned that the hard way. I was in the OB's office getting a colposcopy and in bursts this lady who starts chatting away in sign language while my nether region is just BAM right there, and she was all "I'm so sorry, I'm so late, they sent me to the other clinic, blah blah blah" and I'm like "WHO ARE YOU, I DON'T SIGN!" apparently, my previous doctor noted my hearing loss and requested an interpreter without my knowledge and despite the fact that I don't know or use sign language resulting in the most awkward and embarassing encounter ever...
Good luck @themaritimemama - hopefully your BP is under control!
@Blondie080300 my "going into labor at work plan" basically looks like this: So, I'm guessing we're on par with preparation.
@megan324... you have an excel sheet with an inventory of all the things you own and what you still need? Damn, you have your sh*t together. I'm way impressed.
Also impressed with your FI, but mostly impressed with your organizational skills.
36 weeks today and someone was like omg, you're 9 months pregnant now! No...no I'm not. 4 weeks does not equal a month. Considering Saturday was one month til baby, and last Monday was 8 months from my last period, I still consider myself 8 months pregnant. I just don't get the 4 weeks thing! Totally a pet peeve of mine. I likely got pregnant the end of December, baby is due the middle ish of September. That does not equal 10 months!!
@diagonalley - that drives me up the wall too! Pregnancy is like 9 months and a week(ish) long to hit 40 weeks. There's more than 4 weeks/month - average is 4.3. Can't forget the .3 or your math will just be so so wrong.
Speaking of organization.. I was doing the dishes last night and my husband picks up my To-Do list that has been on the kitchen counter for the past 3 months and says "Looks like we've done everything on here, ok to throw it out?" ... I nearly cried. First buddy, that's a very loose usage of the word "we".. but thank you for moving that glider for me (1 item of the 50 on the list). Also.. it's only been complete for 2 days, can't we keep the list with all the check boxes checked off in plain sight for a few more days??
I let him throw it out, but seriously regret that.
Here's a random thought of the day.. This baby was conceived in the days surrounding E's 1st birthday.. think E will figure that out and be totally weirded out someday? Like, we threw a 1st birthday party, put him to bed, and started trying for another? Because.. that's totally how it went down. Even had to do it quietly since my very hated MIL was spending the night at our house (as she always tends to do when we host parties.. ugh).
@AmMcc12 - Honestly, thank goodness I've been due at the beginnings of months each time as I get really impatient/jealous as babies start being born in rapid succession. I think that's a great idea as it can't be easy to be a "few weeks behind" the trend of the board!

Or October 3
Shut it up, you!! gah, October sounds soooo much further away hahaha
@PoodleDoodleOoo thank you thank you. I couldn't have done it without these past 5 months of no school or work lol
I have 2 spread sheets, one is strictly baby like @rg1 and the other is *everything* else- down to the last spatula.
This is just straight up life goals for me. LIFE GOALS!
We have so many things in my house and I'm not even sure what it all is. Pretty sure we still have items in the basement that were from the previous owners... or possibly the previous previous owners. I'm not sure.
@AnnaS930 Both of our girls were conceived around Christmas. McKenna potentially on Christmas day, and Layla potentially after a company Christmas party. I also wonder if they'll ever figure it out, and think Mom and Dad just loved getting down at Christmas.
@PoodleDoodleOoo it helps that we are just starting out so we didn't have that much to begin with. I'm plan on updating the list as we go. It's already been super helpful.
@camichael84 - my birthday is 9/30, which puts my conception date dangerously close to New Years Eve... although I'm pretty sure my mom went past my due date with me. I'm not asking.

Omg, I can't even imagine what that must have been like! I probably would have screamed like I was being murdered if someone busted in during an exam like that!!!
Japanese is SIL's first language and there aren't a ton of interpreters around here for that, so we were unable to find one. Usually my brother- who's bilingual- goes with her to doctor appointments, but he couldn't get off work today. I was the next best thing. I just took notes of what the doctor said so that my brother can discuss it with her tonight. It was just a breast exam, no pap (thankyouJesus), and I was clearly the only uncomfortable person in the room. SIL has mentioned in the past that she's usually the naked person in the gym locker room, so I guess I should've seen that coming!
Gah! I just made the mistake of opening my work emails. Bad move!
@Megan324 Your list makes me reminisce of when I had my first place. I totally had a list like that - detailed down to how many pieces of cutlery I had. These days i am more like @PoodleDoodleOoo! God knows what some of the stuff we have floating around our place.
@AnnaS930 This guy was a new year's eve surprise from ovulating early. EDD is 9/26 based on LMP, but 9/22 since we're pretty sure of conception date (travel precluded much activity around that timeframe). Things that baby probably doesn't want to know!
@camichael84 - my birthday is 9/30, which puts my conception date dangerously close to New Years Eve... although I'm pretty sure my mom went past my due date with me. I'm not asking.
I've had so many people say after hearing my due date..." *long pause while they figure it up* we know what you were doing on New Year's!!" No. I was sleeping. She was conceived sometime Jan 6th-8th when I was ovulating. Lol

I'm sitting in my ob's office on the longest NST ever since baby girl doesn't feel like moving around a lot right now. I'm so over these.

Things we have
Cooler
Wine fridge
Bottle opener
Things we need
Wine
Beer
