My son was conceived the weekend my dad and brother were visiting. It was before they showed up, but my brother was able to do the math. He was trying to ask me about it and I just gave him a look and said "Is this really a conversation you want to have with your sister?"
Crazy busy today with a job interview for a higher position in my company (fwiw I don't recommend doing this at 37+ weeks pregnant) but wanted to stop by to say hi and congrats to all the mommas on their squishies!
I totally tell people I'm 9 months pregnant at 37 weeks, especially when I need to make sure they know I am close to having a baby (yes insurance rep, I am looking at you and your non efficient timeline). I know it's technically 8, but if I don't say 9 months now it's not like I might ever get to say it haha.
@camichael84 - my birthday is 9/30, which puts my conception date dangerously close to New Years Eve... although I'm pretty sure my mom went past my due date with me. I'm not asking.
I've had so many people say after hearing my due date..." *long pause while they figure it up* we know what you were doing on New Year's!!" No. I was sleeping. She was conceived sometime Jan 6th-8th when I was ovulating. Lol
That's what you get for lying about your due date! hahahahaha. No but really.. people just don't need to say those things.

Ok clearly I'm not the only one who's creeped out when people do this. Like no, stahp counting back to when you know I last had sex, just no.

Shut it, all of you!! Haha it's so uncomfortable while you're sitting there, waiting for them to figure up when they think you had sex.
My mom has divulged to me that I was conceived before my dad left for a skiing trip, while she was trying *not* to get pregnant. Thanks for letting me know I was a mistake.
This baby was conceived Dec 21-22 (ovulation prediction kits) which is close to my birthday/Christmas, so it seems like it was holiday sexy time but really it was whenever the tests were positive
I'm mobile for the next 2 days but congrats to all the new mama's and their little chunks!!! DH always knows when I'm looking at the birth announcements because I actually squeal.
DH and I are off to Vancouver today, my nursing exam is tomorrow at 8 am... And I am dreading it. I have long ago accepted that I can't know everything, but it's still so nerve wracking. And I'll get my results like 24 hours after writing and I'm just dreading opening that email. I take failure really hard, and I really don't want to be moping for the last month of my never ending pregnancy. Also, including travel costs and the cost of the exam, it costs about $800+ just to write it... So that's fun. Wish me luck ladies!! You shall all be my good juju. Especially if a squish is born tomorrow, that's the best juju. So no pressure or anything to those getting induced today
@yellowrose314 good luck!! You totally got this, and after tomorrow you can breathe a sigh of relief and not have to worry about this exam anymore (excluding getting the results). All the juju coming your way!
@yellowrose314 All the good juju coming your way! Those big exams are very hard to prepare for.. Enjoy a nice dinner out in the city tomorrow night after your exam even if you're completely stuck in your head wondering if you passed or not. I moped for weeks after my Pharmacy Law exam convinced I had failed and somehow passed it, so don't overthink it until you get the results, then go from there!
My step SIL has two April babies and her husband's birthday was in July. They're 1 year apart. It's like"Meghan, you still have to use protection on Patrick's birthday. You can't have a baby every spring."
Congrats to all with new babies! I'm on mobile and can't keep names straight between looking, scrolling and typing @yellowrose314 good luck tomorrow on your exam!! This dd was conceived on dd1s 2nd bday, I havent had anybody do the math out loud on that one. I'm at the hair salon getting my hair done for the last time before baby gets here (and the next 6 months probably) and it is hot af in here. Im a sweaty mess and my hairdresser is probably totally grossed out. Good luck tonight @kosmo86 and tomorrow @MojieJo!
@KimmySchmidt lol that's too funny. My brother is 9 months after my mom's birthday and I'm 9 months after my dads. we try not to think about it haha
Stop!!! Just stop!!!! You're making me think math thoughts, thoughts that I should never think about...my brain is about to explode...I do not want to be thinking about this.....it's not right.
So the guy next to me getting his hair done is a very pretentious hipster. I just overheard the end of his convo which included this "just got back from my trip over there. Oh yeah they looove Americans there (dead serious, not sarcastic). I developed an accent while I was over there" I'm just betting whoever met him loved him lol
@yellowrose314 Good luck tomorrow! I hope you can have a little bit of fun in your travels afterwards (at least dinner at a new place or something!!)
I have a coworker who, when announcing her second pregnancy, openly shared that the baby's due date was also her son's birthday...because she can only stand to have sex with her husband after she's really drunk and that only happens on New Years Eve. I was like, "Wow." I mean...we aren't even close!
Random for working moms taking leave: For your out of office on your email are you just keeping it the typical 'I'll be out of the office from blah to blah, if you need anything please contact blah.' Will there be any mention of you being out for maternity leave in your out of office?
@yellowrose314 good luck on the exam! Sounds like you're prepared as much as you can be and are in a good place mentally. At least you'll get the results quickly and after tomorrow can go enjoy your prenatal massage and focus on LOs arrival
@AmMcc12 I love the idea of end of the month check ins. I searched previous BMBs and couldn't find much. I think June had one as a place to vent, which got the conversation started, but it would be nice to have something with more structure to start. Just random thoughts but maybe if we included due date, how we're feeling physically/mentally, what we're looking forward to the most, a "im happy to still be pregnant because..." (to help stay focused on the positive) such as "I may be up 4x a night to pee but I'm able to immediately fall back asleep...that'll change when baby gets here..." and maybe a "i wont miss about being pregnant..."
My random: I'm seriously considering buying fabric to make my own baby wrap. As a non crafty person this could turn out great or go horribly wrong lol.
@PoodleDoodleOoo Ha! Should have checked the syntax in that sentence! Nope, I made pickles. Full stop. I also made banana muffins. Pickle-banana muffins would definitely qualify as one of the grossest combos I can think of!
@LakeR2014 I included mention of "Maternity Leave" when I was out with DD and will do so again this time. It's not necessary if you're not comfortable including it but, for me, I think it helps call out that I'm not going to be back in a couple days or a week, we're talking months here!
re on counting back from due date. I just counted back from my own birthday in November and realized...Valentine's Day. How have I never done that before?!
Also, no one has outright said anything about New Year's baby to me yet...but my due date is 9/25...which is eerily close. I have a feeling that some people in my family have done the math in their heads and are just good enough to not say anything.
@PoodleDoodleOoo I literally starting laughing out loud and choked on my lunch when reading your message and seeing your GIF about going into labor at work. That was awesome.

@PSUBecky23 I should add that my boss is also pregnant and due a few weeks after me so that is why I felt comfortable enough sharing my dilation update. LOL.

Stuck in the box but my OOO mentions maternity leave and does not give a time frame of when I will be back.

@LakeR2014 I've already been sharing with the other attorneys on my cases that I'll be going out. And many of them already knew from seeing me at depositions/in court. It's no one's business but I have no problem sharing so I'll put it in my OOO email message.
This kiddo was likely conceived on or very near my birthday. That was purely coincidence since we were actually trying to get pregnant and had been for a year, but I've wondered if the kiddos will figure that out at some point too.
Re: August Randoms!!!
I haven't finished my clothes but I'm almost there

My boss just asked me if I was dilated yet. No, just no.
You've been studying and preparing so hard.
My brother is 9 months after my mom's birthday and I'm 9 months after my dads.
we try not to think about it haha
I should be doing the thank you notes from my shower, but instead I made pickles and banana muffins. They'll get written eventually...
