@Trgree1712 I bet it was harder back then! I saw some pics on Pinterest when I was pregnant with DS and fell in love, so I knew that's what I wanted to do this time. And now, I see stuff EVERYWHERE! I have to stop myself from buying it all, lol.
@sarahg8r actually I found it on clearance at Carters. It worked out because I was looking for something different and it felt perfect since we live in Florida.
Finally got the painting done for our nursery! DH's aunt did the mural and then I had him change the three remaining walls to pink from the mint green to make it girlier! Can't wait to finish the remains decorations!
Sorry if these are huge.. First time posting pics lol
I don't think I posted these yet, but this is our itty bitty twin nursery. I'm still waiting on some art to go in the frames above the dresser and two quilts my mom made that are the same fabrics as the frames over one of the cribs.
It's not fancy but everything has been bought, put together, washed, organized and as ready as it's going to get. I've also got 1,000 something diapers hiding in that little closet with my hospital bag lol.
Also not fancy but essentially complete. I hope DH still finds the time to put up the two shelves we have so I can put babies books up, along with his other little teepees. I also keep trying to fix the big teepee better but am having no luck with the way the fabric hangs. Please LMK if anyone has suggestions on that ! I packed then unpacked the diaper bag so the crib is full of "potentials" because I don't really know what I am doing ! Plan to put the PNP in our bedroom when baby is born- that or a not pictured bassinet that my mom is recovering in the teepee fabric that is on the bedskirt.. May take more detailed pictures tonight since this isn't really the best on the details. Can't hardly see the quilt that my mom also made with his name on it, the arrow pillow or the feathered mobile hangings we got at our baby shower that I really like so much!
Can you return or sell the first one @Megan324 and put money towards the new one? Do you have gift cards or anything to buy the new one? I never feel too guilty if I've got gift cards or store credit. ;-)
@firsttimemomma417 I love that rustic wall! Did you guys do that yourself? DH and I actually want to do a shiplap wall in our living room behind our couch, but we haven't figured out how to do it yet
@SLou24 thanks! Yea we found some old barn wood and hubby did it! And I love the way shiplap looks!
@VeraMali thank you! We pronounce it ben-aye-uh, it's a biblical name that we just love. I've heard other people pronounce it ben-eye-uh, but we like the long A sound better.
We are just about complete, but it will do for now. We have the essentials together! Can't wait to finally have her here. We are doing one more thing in the corner and making a book nook, but we'll get there. Enjoy! I've loved seeing everyone else's nurseries and all the diversity!
I have been so inspired by all you ladies and your beautiful nurseries! I definitely had fun putting this room together, and all the shopping! Just a few finishing touches left here and there.
The room looked so big when we started, but ended up really cozy when we got all the furniture in there.
IKEA is a 2-3 hour drive from our house. We went about a month before I finding out if this was a boy or girl and settling on nursery decor. So we had no idea what color furniture to get. We decided to get some unpainted furniture. In retrospect it would have been easier to just make a future trip to IKEA. Here I am less than 3 weeks from my due date and I am still painting furniture. We finished the dresser a little over a week ago. We also have a low shelving unit that will be finished by Labor Day. What were we thinking with unpainted furniture!
Then we bought some gorgeous curtains. I went to hang them and the anchor screws went properly gripping the drywall because it is too soft. That means that now we have to investigate if we have any leaks that are causing the drywall to be soft. This nursery is never going to get finished!
I originally was going to leave the baby's room the same as it was for my son, but I started having STM guilt about not doing anything special for this baby. And I had the urge to redecorate. My mom hand painted the lighthouse on the wall. The spot where the light is on the light house is actually where the video monitor attaches to the wall so it kind of looks like the beacon :-). We have been finished for a couple months but never got around to share. I have since bought some new bedding and changing table cover but the rest is still the same. Oh and there are doors and trim on the closets. I love how it turned out. Made me more excited about baby #2 coming.
Finally finished the nursery with under 2 weeks to spare. Feeling accomplished! The theme ended up being stars, chevron, and elephants haha. Just gender neutral for now!
Almost have everything set in the nursery! Feeling good about our progress this weekend. Still need to organize the closet and dresser drawers, but it's mostly done!
We FINALLY got the rug today. I'm still waiting on the glider ottoman but I can't wait to share any longer! This is our gender neutral nursery. Once we know if it's a girl or boy we will order a more gender specific mobile, and a few accents here and there. I filled the nursery with two paintings I bought in Africa from the job I had to leave because it requires 75% travel but I really wanted our little one to have the map over their crib so they would get the travel bug and the paintings flanking the window are from Mauritius and South Africa. The hippo on the shelf is from Nigeria.
My mom made the blankets, changing pad cover, and most of the pillow cases (minus the two from Target and the two covers I made--my very first sewing project!).
