Went to TJ's with 3yo last week. She dropped and busted open a 1 lb container of organic blueberries into our basket. While I frantically scooped them up and figured they looked ok to buy, despite not needing berries, she dropped and busted open a container of baby tomatoes. Onto the floor, 5 feet away. Employees tossed that one. I fled in shame as soon as possible.

Ugh, I'm sorry. How such tiny beings can cause so much destruction is beyond me.
My random for the day is I really should be at work but I was just too tired and sore, and standing up makes my cervix hurt, so I am home working on a big long legal thing that is due later today and watching Fiddler on the Roof on demand. I stand by my choices.
We have a Trader Joe's about 15-20 mins from me depending on traffic, but I've yet to go in there. I would love to, but it's in a crazy busy shopping area and I haven't the interest in dealing with that lately!
I want a Wegmans after hearing you all talk about it! Maybe someday we'll get them down here.
PP sex was not good for me until I weaned DS. It took 4-5 months before I wasn't in a ton of pain during and after. Hoping this time around is better.
Just finished my growth scan at 35 weeks, LO is 6 lbs 7 oz and I'm 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced. I know that means nothing, but it makes me feel like all these contractions are at least doing something.
They did say I had borderline high fluids, enough that they want me to do another ultrasound at 37 weeks. I asked if they would drain it or what would happen if it was still high and the nurse practitioner said they definitely wouldn't drain it at that point and made it sound like they might induce. I'm sure the levels will be fine, but now I am slightly freaking out that they may induce at 37 weeks. I'm so not ready.
Is anyone opting out of cervical checks (outside of actual labour)? I've been checked before in previous pregnancies, but I feel like it's always a disappointment, because it never really led to anything. I'm really not keen to be poked or prodded until absolutely necessary this time, but I'm wondering if anyone has turned them down before?
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@themaritimemama I will be opting out. I don't see the purpose and I'm too nervous it could start something that isn't ready to be started (regardless of if that's even possible...I'm just too nervous about another preemie!) My doctor offered one on Monday and I said no.
@Themaritimemama I didn't quite make it far enough to opt out lol but I do know I was technically "allowed to" when the time came per my OB. I did try to opt out during my induction ("I'm only 34+5 you idiot, of course I'm closed" were my exact words) but had to get checked anyways The check is what quickly prompted my epidural. I could not STAND the sensation! Quivers.
@Megan324 that's awesome news! I know you were worried about it so I'm sure that's a relief!
I didn't find PP sex to be an issue and I EBF for 15 months with DD. The first few times weren't great but after that I felt like it went back to normal, thankfully.
I had my 36 week appt today and I was only "about a 1/2 cm dilated" today and not much effacement going on. I go back on Tuesday for my 37 week appt so I'm hoping to see some progress. My induction feels so far away (8/31) even though I know it will be here before I know it. I need to tell DH we need to have sex this weekend to try and get things moving. It's been about a month since the last time. This baby's head is so low it just doesn't sound appealing. But I want him out already! They estimated him to be 7lbs. 4oz. today at my growth scan, which is 71st percentile. I'm a little nervous about his size with about 3 weeks to go!
Also, on the topic of Wegman's. A woman from a FB group I belong to said that her's has something like a children's drop off/ play place. She lives in NY I believe. Is that true of all of them? That would be amazing!

I am. Didn't get any until I was in labor before. Don't see the point of putting myself through that discomfort.
@Sarafuss most of the Wegman's I have been in have those. I never knew how they worked, but they're a little play area that's closed in. Not sure if they all have one or not but the majority in western NY have them I believe.
@diagonalley - I know this has been a stressful week for you.. tomorrow you can wake up being the most pregnant you've ever been! That's amazing!!!
@MrsVoorhees - We are having the same date night tomorrow night! Our movie theater serves meals so might opt out of popcorn and have dinner.. or have both, because.. obviously.
Mostly reading today with a few comments as I'm still stuck training so can only open the screen when my trainees aren't here. Womp womp.
oh wait! the other comment I really wanted to leave was @Megan324 - You've done an awesome job on baby boy so far, mama! I seem to remember some stress/guilt/pressure around your GD diagnosis and family members? (I could totally have the wrong person), and you managed it extremely well.. this is in now ways to say if baby boy had been measuring large that you hadn't still managed it well, but I'm really happy that you found some relief in your growth scan after all of your efforts!
Considering I shiver at the sensation of a pap smear, I think I will opt out of cervical checks as long as I can. I don't know how my doctor handles it but he's a pretty laid back, let's let nature take its course type of OB, so I'm hoping he won't push it. I might do it at the 37w appointment if offered just so I know what it feels like. *Cringe*

I've always wondered but never googled, what is the issue with high fluid? Why would that be a problem?
My confession is that I want to skip my last regular OB appointment next week. I'm having a RCS in two weeks & no cervical checks. I don't see the point in my husband having to take another day off work and lose money just to drive the 30 mins to the hospital, painfully waddle the long way into the office, & wait 1-2 hours in a germy waiting room with my 3 year old for a less than 5 minute appointment just for the Dr to listen to the heartbeat and ask me for the 300th time if I'm sure I want a tubal.
awesome, I'm glad to know there are others opting out. I had decided this time that I would refuse any students or people training this time, as I've had through labour EACH time, so I feel like I've helped the medical community enough at this point. I just hadn't quite decided on the cervical checks. I'm most likely being induced after I hit 37 weeks unless I go into spontaneous labour, so I don't really feel like there is a point.
@VeraMali if you don't have any reason for concern, just forgo it! I wouldn't miss mine because of my blood pressure, but you already have an end date in mind. I would keep it until the last minute (the latest you can without still getting charged or whatever) and then go with how you feel.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
Baby B is still breech and A has moved into the center, so there's next to no chance of him being able to flip back. They're going to schedule me for a c-section between the 22nd and the 24th. So one more prenatal appointment next Friday and then early the week after my boys will be here (assuming they don't decide to come earlier)!
Doctor confirmed I'm losing parts of my mucus plug (I lost some more last night), but that my cervix is closed tight and I'm not having an unusual amount of contractions (still can't feel them). So it looks like I've got a while yet. Hopefully I make it to my scheduled c-section date!
Had my GBS test today, which was a little painful but quick and no big deal.
All of a sudden, though, I'm putting on a ton of water weight (almost 7 pounds in two weeks). My doctor's not worried, but I'm getting frustrated. I've been on the lower end of average for weight gain until now, so this kind of sucks. More than a couple minutes on my feet (or wearing shoes) and my feet puff up like bread loaves.
@Themaritimemama so I totally posted that in the wrong thread, I meant it to go in FFFC oh well. I wish I could forgo it but since my doctor insists on scheduling it if I cancel it for any reason other than labor & don't reschedule my insurance can choose to opt out of paying for anything else. I'll go but I'll most likely be a cranky b!tch the entire 5 minutes I'm in there with her.
I'm entirely too far behind to catch up on this thread and don't have the time now but wanted to pop in and say hi! I hope you are all feeling as well as possible! I can't wait to see more birth announcements!
We are still at the hospital, I'm discharged but Evin had to stay (I get to stay too just not a patient). She is having a hard time maintaining her weight and peeing. She's lost a pound. My milk is sloooowly coming in so that should start to help. Right now we are supplementing with donor milk via an SNS.
Also, I am Team Cervix Checks! Even though I had them all the way through 41 weeks last time and was still "a loose centimeter" up until the day before labor.. I just don't mind them. Yesterday's wasn't painful at all but she said "yeah, nothing going on up there yet" which I was really happy to hear at 36 weeks (gets harder to hear by 40).. so maybe it was too high to even reach? Who knows.
@reesaXden For the record, the Love Tit is for the beautiful picture of Evin, not for her staying longer in the hospital. I hope her appetite picks up soon!
I only have two more OB appointments until my induction. I plan to accept the cervical check at 36 weeks, but deny it at 37 (or maybe vice versa). I'd like some idea of where I'm starting off before they induce.
Also my random... I fell asleep while rocking McKenna for her nap. Lay her down in her crib so I can finish my nap in bed then I'm wide awake as soon as I get there. Boo.
Oh! And my grocery store has their Cadbury scream eggs out! So naturally today when I went I got two to go in the snack bag for the hospital. Also go DH a Reese's pumpkin, but forsee that not lasting more than 5 minutes after he gets home from work.
@AnnaS930 several ppl have suggested the continuation of the Randoms thread group. It's a really great group of women who brave/can keep up with these threads.
@camichael84 Halloween candy already?! That reminds me I never picked out or ordered LOs costume...
@ajn092 I thought it was early, too, but I'm never one to turn down a Cadbury egg! Also, it leaves me hopeful that Starbucks will have their pumpkin cream cheese muffins by the time my baby is born. I'm seriously dead set on having one no more than 4 hours after she's out of me.

Mine wasn't painful at all today but I am 1cm dilated and its already soft. Is that normal? I'm also 36 weeks.
Sometimes I wonder how complete strangers do not look at me with absolute horror several times a day when I'm out and about. Baby moves a significant amount and he is not a delicate mover. Sometimes I feel like I might fall over when he gives a particularly good shove to one side and when he turns over from one side to the other I KNOW it's noticeable. My entire belly moves. Yet no one has said anything to me like "OH MY GOD DO YOU NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE OR PERHAPS AN EXORCISM?!"
@Megan324 I think it's pretty normal! More dilation than that or no change is also normal at 36 weeks, it just depends on the woman/pregnancy. I was at about a 2 from 36 weeks until I went into labor at 39+1.
@bibliobebe I feel the same way about my belly/LO, but then I can't remember ever noticing movement in any other pregnant woman I've ever seen. It's amazing how little notice we actually take of other people, not in a sad way necessarily, just how much our brain filters as "unnecessary detail".
@Megan324 there's nothing that's really "normal" per se when it comes to dilation at 36 weeks. Some people are totally closed, some are 1cm, some are 4cm. That's why I don't do them.
@Shiva14 I had borderline high fluid for both twins at an ultrasound a few weeks ago. The next one it was normal. The MFM said we might have just caught both of them right after peeling. Gross.

Is that normal? I'm also 36 weeks.
Which I guess is nice of them.
