I know I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to give a quick update and maybe give some hope to ladies with Beta/bleeding issues.
I got 2 amazing betas (740 & 1572) and we were so ecstatic about the possibility of twins. Then I starting spotting which turned into red blood at 5 weeks exactly. It was never enough to fill my pad, just enough to freak me out. I was also experiencing period like cramping. We went into the doctor and they wouldn't do an ultrasound since I was too early but they decided to do another blood test. My 3rd beta came back as 1705 which being 3 days after the 1572 freaked me out even more. It only went up 133 in 3 days, not a good sign. So they wanted me to take another blood test 2 days later. I was a complete wreck waiting for my 4th beta, expecting the worst. It came back at 11,900! So thrilled!

I was still bleeding throughout this whole thing. Finally the morning I was supposed to have my 1st ultrasound(5 weeks 5 days) I wiped and there was a medium sized blood clot on the toilet paper. After the blood clot passed my bleeding stopped completely. It was so weird. At my ultrasound the doctor saw 1 very healthy baby measuring right on time and we could see the heartbeat! I was so relieved. I don't know if that was leftover blood that my body was just trying to clear out or if I actually had twins and lost one. I will probably never know. I am just so grateful that I am still pregnant and that hopefully things will keep going well from here. My second ultrasound is set for 8/12/16.

@Kerami1 - I'm so glad that you saw your baby and it's heartbeat! I'm sorry that all the bleeding gave you such a scare, though! Did they ever explain why the 3rd beta was so low compared to #2? FX for another great ultrasound on the 12th!!
No. I never got an explanation. They basically told me that they only expect the 1st 2 betas to double. After that, as long as they are still going up it is ok. I don't really feel like that is true but my least favorite nurse was the one who gave me the news so I didn't feel comfortable asking more questions.

@Kerami1 - such a struggle and emotional rollercoaster! I don't think I'll feel totally comfortable until after the ultrasound...or the end of the first trimester ;-) but so glad you got to see baby and heartbeat - I bet it was amazing.

@Kerami1 Congratulations! And thank you for that update. Makes me feel a little better. I'm still bleeding but never enough to fill up a whole pad/liner. In currently 5 weeks 3 days and started bleeding last Thursday. My RE wants to wait till next Friday when I'll be 7 weeks for an u/s if we can. But was told to let them know if I get more cramping or increases bleeding asap.
All three of my betas were where they should of been so I have no idea. I had a delayed skin reaction to my progesterone in oil injections...rash/red/itchy. I wonder if it's possible having a reaction to the progesterone vaginal capsules? Might be a little far fetched...who knows.
@sunflower5678 My nurses told me twins usually cause more bleeding! I'm so hopeful for you and as long as those betas are going up I'm sure it's nothing but good news for you!!!

My second beta came back today at 976, but my progesterone dropped from 27 to 18, so I'm increasing my already painful dose of PIO from 1.5mL to 2mL daily. Ouch. Hopefully it helps and Sunday gives me good news!

Thanks @AandDM2014 unfortunately I don't think it'll be good news, but we'll try again if it is. My first U/S (8/4) they saw an empty sac and prepared me for a m/c. I go back today at 1:30 for my second u/s (7 weeks) and there is still a glimmer of hope but I'm expecting to not see anything and preparing for the worst.

Thanks ladies. Unfortunately I did not get good news. They were able to see the yolk sac and fetal pole at today's U/S but it's stopped growing and has no heartbeat. I'm scheduled for an office D&C tomorrow at my clinic. I chose to do this because I didn't want to go to a hospital where I don't know anyone to have them do a D&C and I didn't want a natural MC at home because I was worried about the emotional pain of seeing everything come out. I have to take MC inducing suppositories tonight and take ativan tomorrow 1 hour before the surgery, but it's supposed to be pretty painful, so not looking forward to it. At least it will be a closure to everything and we'll be able to move on. Thank you all for your support and I hope that all your journeys continue in positive ways!

Loss/procedure TW @emgem819 I'm so sorry. D&Cs aren't fun! If it makes you feel any better, I was fully awake for mine, just had 10mg of Valium and 5 or 10mg of hydrocodone/acetaminophen combo, and it wasn't all that bad. Sure, it was painful, but nothing I couldn't handle. I think it took a total of 5 or 6 of the h/a and a few of the 800mg ibuprofen I was prescribed. over the two days following the procedure. I know this won't help, but maybe it'll make you smile a bit: the sensation of it is weird and strange, but also interesting. I/we chose to look afterwards, just for a bit of closure, and there wasn't really anything to see at a growth of 9+1. I hope your DH is able to be with you through this challenge!

Thanks @AandDM2014 that does make me feel much better! My RE is going into it saying its a procedure she doesn't do often (mostly they send ppl to hospital) so that made me nervous. She also said it was a very "uncomfortable" feeling so to be warned. "Weird and strange but interesting" as you describe makes it sound a lot better!

TW/MC mentioned @emgem819 I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I miscarried in November at 9+3 at home, but measuring only a little above 6 weeks. Like @AandDM2014 mentioned there is not much to see at that stage, but it can be a visual process that for some is very upsetting. Glad you chose an option that worked best for you and your emotional process. Wishing you well during your procedure and your recovery. When you are ready there is a great group of women on the TTCAL board who I have found life-saving during this horrible process.

Growing baby grow!! 8/25/2016-another ultrasound at 7 weeks and baby has a heart beat of 129 BPM and is 10mm/1cm! Grow baby grow some more!! Graduated from RE at 10 weeks and had ObGyn appointment at 13 weeks. It's a girl (found out via panorama test) EDD 4/13/2017
I know I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to give a quick update and maybe give some hope to ladies with Beta/bleeding issues.
I got 2 amazing betas (740 & 1572) and we were so ecstatic about the possibility of twins. Then I starting spotting which turned into red blood at 5 weeks exactly. It was never enough to fill my pad, just enough to freak me out. I was also experiencing period like cramping. We went into the doctor and they wouldn't do an ultrasound since I was too early but they decided to do another blood test. My 3rd beta came back as 1705 which being 3 days after the 1572 freaked me out even more. It only went up 133 in 3 days, not a good sign. So they wanted me to take another blood test 2 days later. I was a complete wreck waiting for my 4th beta, expecting the worst. It came back at 11,900! So thrilled!

I was still bleeding throughout this whole thing. Finally the morning I was supposed to have my 1st ultrasound(5 weeks 5 days) I wiped and there was a medium sized blood clot on the toilet paper. After the blood clot passed my bleeding stopped completely. It was so weird. At my ultrasound the doctor saw 1 very healthy baby measuring right on time and we could see the heartbeat! I was so relieved. I don't know if that was leftover blood that my body was just trying to clear out or if I actually had twins and lost one. I will probably never know. I am just so grateful that I am still pregnant and that hopefully things will keep going well from here. My second ultrasound is set for 8/12/16.

@Kerami1 - such a struggle and emotional rollercoaster! I don't think I'll feel totally comfortable until after the ultrasound...or the end of the first trimester ;-) but so glad you got to see baby and heartbeat - I bet it was amazing.

All three of my betas were where they should of been so I have no idea. I had a delayed skin reaction to my progesterone in oil injections...rash/red/itchy. I wonder if it's possible having a reaction to the progesterone vaginal capsules? Might be a little far fetched...who knows.

@emgem819 I'm so sorry. D&Cs aren't fun! If it makes you feel any better, I was fully awake for mine, just had 10mg of Valium and 5 or 10mg of hydrocodone/acetaminophen combo, and it wasn't all that bad. Sure, it was painful, but nothing I couldn't handle. I think it took a total of 5 or 6 of the h/a and a few of the 800mg ibuprofen I was prescribed. over the two days following the procedure. I know this won't help, but maybe it'll make you smile a bit: the sensation of it is weird and strange, but also interesting. I/we chose to look afterwards, just for a bit of closure, and there wasn't really anything to see at a growth of 9+1. I hope your DH is able to be with you through this challenge!

@emgem819 I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I miscarried in November at 9+3 at home, but measuring only a little above 6 weeks. Like @AandDM2014 mentioned there is not much to see at that stage, but it can be a visual process that for some is very upsetting. Glad you chose an option that worked best for you and your emotional process. Wishing you well during your procedure and your recovery. When you are ready there is a great group of women on the TTCAL board who I have found life-saving during this horrible process.
