@annabenanna Does it have to be world map wallpaper? What about something like this hanging in back of the crib? This is from RH Baby, but I'm sure you could find something similar for less. Looks very cute so far!
My dog got really really sick yesterday. All over the house. Of course this was one of the few days that I left the door open to the nursery. Thankfully I own a carpet shampooer. I'm worried things are never going to smell right though.
@NicholeL16 ugh that is awful! My dog tends to throw up a lot and thinks the nursery is his room so we're planning on getting the carpets cleaned in September. We didn't have a chance to get them cleaned before we moved in last year so they could really use it anyway.
@ibabyloveb87 Thank you! She seems to be doing better today. I'm very slowly introducing her food. I tried to start with white rice but she just played with it. @LGW2015 I have a shampooer we picked up at Goodwill for cheap and it has been a life saver. I don't know how I would have managed yesterday without it.
@annabenanna do you have a hobby lobby near you? They had a pretty big one that looked similar to that one with the rope attachment for hanging. Super cool and almost bought it for our loft. Not expensive either!
Catching up.... I love that map idea @annabenanna! $150 is a lot, but keep an eye out and keep searching. I bet you can find something closer to the $50 range. Also, does it matter if you did wallpaper over the molding? Almost like it doesn't exist. I bet there are tutorials on that.
@NicholeL16 SO glad your pup is feeling better. Reach out to me if you're having trouble slowly introducing food again. With our dog's pancreatitis, if he has an attack we have to be careful about food after. Also, not sure which end your pup's sick was on but, pumpkin (like canned pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie mix) is the best for when things are.... trying to think of a good way of putting this and failing.... not as solid as you'd want them. If that's the case, feed your pup straight pumpkin for a couple of meals and it'll get things back like they should be (unless there's some bacterial issue).
Oh God... FI said he doesn't plan on finishing the garage until it isn't as hot outside... so you mean probably October? The same October our baby is due in IF he even stays in that long??? Uuuuuugh!
Umm AllyTheKid not ok, u need to seriously regulate. I haven't been ragey or bitchy this pregnancy except for the nursery. I want it done how I want it when I want it, I totally let the hormones rage when H was dragging his feet.
@bnsmith85 good to know about pumpkin! We had one sick dog last week and now the other is sick, so I'm guessing they gave it to each other and it might be bacterial but I'll still try it! The usual white rice hasn't been working
@AllyTheKid I would be freaking out haha. But are you planning on having the baby sleep in your room at first or anything??
we are slowly making progress--got the crib set up yesterday! Edited to add I bought this pottery barn crib used (in new condition) from a local mom's group for 200 bucks...Yesssssss.
I would regulate, but then I'd feel like an asshat. He's always so exhausted from work, and it's sooo hot... Due to it NOT being an emergency, I'll let him do it his way. We can stay in our room (future nursery) with the babe until the garage is done. NBD. He still has to run electrical wire through the walls, finish hanging sheetrock, cut put a doorway from the garage to the house, frame that in, finish walls, paint, install carpet... he has basically framed in our new closet, built the wall against the garage door, and hung some sheetrock. Whatever though, I'm over it. It'll get done eventually.
With my first we didn't have a nursery until the kid was 3 months because that was when we moved. It wasn't the perfect situation, but it wasn't the end of the world.
@samkins - that picture of your pup! Our dog sleeps in DS toddler bed when we're at work. I can always tell because the sheets are all messed up when we get home.
@NicholeL16 - Hope your pup is feeling better - poor thing! We've definitely learned with kids and dogs that carpet cleaners are a must!
OMG @gatorMom2014 I can't get enough of your striped walls!! They're amazing!! And nice score on the crib - its curved sides go perfectly with the contrasting straight lines in the stripes. I'm in love.
Thanks @lmnobaby ! I'm so happy with how the stripes turned out too. I almost didn't get the crib because I thought it might be girly, but I decided I loved it and it didn't matter.

I don't think it's girly at all!! Quite the opposite, it makes a strong statement. Plus it was too good a deal!!
Loving all the updates everyone is posting!! My dad is coming to our house this weekend to help paint the nursery. My project is to paint the unfinished bookshelf. I can't wait to have everything painted so I can start to decorate and put everything back in the room!
@gatormom2014 I got DS1 a more girly crib and I loved it (Franklin & Ben Liberty Crib)! We did the stripped wall for DS1 as well. Also this photo is very blue- the non stripped walls were a lot lighter in person. We are reusing the crib for this baby- but are going for a more neutral grey/white theme.
@allison.smith.6212 yay! thank you for this! gotta make sure the dimensions fit... my challenge with decals is that the wall i'd attach them to has those ridges. ugh. thanks for thinking of me though!
annabenanna I ended up scrolling through the whole page and there's quite a few maps that are really cute. And for that price, you may even be able to measure between the ridges and cut the decal to go in between them. I'm not sure if they sell them outside of Zulilly (I'd assume so) but maybe they'd have even more options too.
Re: Setting up nursery?
@samkins you win for cutest dog pic this week. That is too adorable!!
