@NoraAurora Thank you for the answer. So it's decided I'll install bases and seats just to get familiar and comfortable then I'll take everything out until it's time.
A girl I was friends with in college is pregnant and crafting a little wreath to go on the door at the hospital. Is that a thing?
To go on her hospital room door?? Who has time to do that? Who even thinks of that?
The thought of doing this seriously just overwhelmed me. I feel like I'm already behind in setting up the nursery and getting baby supplies together, never mind crafting disposable hospital room decor!
@Julia70286 How does the Snuza stack up with the Owlet and the Angel Care? I'd love something like this but I know they aren't cheap.
@UponAStar16 Echoing others, I left my good jewelry in my jewelry box and bought a set of fake rings at JCPenney. Nobody's been able to tell they aren't real and I know my diamonds are safe.
I also sometimes don't feel like a reg. I don't usually bump at night or
on the weekends so I know I miss a lot but I usually catch up the next work day. And I forget about HDBD. I only remember to take it when I'm at work and I
can only have so many photos of my work bathroom lol.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
@Kaytee1087 I feel that way about my own bathroom. Lol.
I usually remember to take a picture for me but I don't always post it. I honestly hate the thread. Like others said way back (in the many pages that accumulated while I was sleeping!) there's too many HDBD regulars that I never see anywhere else, and since the thread takes SO long to load on my phone, it's not even worth it. Which sucks because I would love to see all your ladies bumps!
@CopperBoom86 The tacky has traveled North to Oklahoma where all these girls are psuedo-southern. And I hate it. I'm so sick of obnoxious bling on EVERYTHING, ornate and bulky cross accessories, and teal and leopard print... who even thought of that and how did it stick?! Gag.
Weird, I didn't see anything tacky like that on the doors here. Most were just a wreath with like a bear and a chalkboard to write the baby's name, weight, length and time of birth. I really thought most of them were cute. Maybe I'm tacky...
Just finished my glocose test! OMG, it was awful! They didn't give me an option on flavor so I had fruit punch. Yuck. But it's over now so we just wait for results.
bnsmith85 We did our L&D tour yesterday and there were a couple rooms that had decorations on the outside of the doors saying "Welcome [Insert Baby Name}". I personally wouldn't do it, but also spent the last 8+ years with University Housing and were required to make those kinda things so now I also probably try to avoid it. There's also a short time in the hospital - first one was out within 48 hours after delivery.
In regards to car seats, We had our son in May and I think in mid-late March was when we put in our car seat, but a baby boutique in town where we bought our seats was having a car seat installation even and I wanted to make sure a professional did it. Just note with a lot of those - we went to 2 different ones and they still have YOU do part of the instillation because they want to make sure if you need to move your seat, change vehicles and what not that you still know how to put it in correctly. So just a friendly FYI don't go with the expectation that they'll just do it for you.
I'm also hoping my posts don't seem to random on here, doing housing assignments for a University it's my crazy time of the year so I'm only able to sign on every so often and try to input when I don't feel it's been heavily hit on with the same thing I'd respond with.
Thanks for the ring suggestions ladies! I'm going to try getting it off with cold water and soap after work so I can stop being fixated on it getting stuck. Maybe will try the pregnancy chain thing or just go naked-hands!
@LMNOBaby & @AllyTheKid I was, and always will be, a JC girl. Also, @LMNOBaby, my friends and I were super obsessed with NSYNC. I was 19 during their last tour, but that was great because I could drive to their shows basically the whole time they toured. Therefore....I saw them 12 times in concert.
@UponAStar16 there's this awesome way to get stuck rings off with wrapping floss around your finger. It's on youtube for sure
When we went into the hospital the other night for my terrifying muscle spasms/insane heart burn, it was a bit intimidating to see and hear all the ladies that were in labor. Some of them sounded like they were in so much pain ahhhh.
@Kaytee1087 I have the owlet on our registry too, but that one is quite a bit more expensive so I reeeeeally don't think we'd get it, so now that I know we have the Snuza I'll probs be taking the owlet off. I saw the Snuza first and it has really great reviews. The Snuza attaches to the diaper and the Owlet attaches to the foot and has an app for your phone so it's a little more high tech. I've never used either, and don't know anyone who has, so I'm flying blind, or at least just by my research. Both seem like great products and both will give me piece of mind, so I'm happy about that!
GUYS. DH just casually told me about how the other day he delivered a baby! On a public transport bus on the way to the hospital. Cut the umbilical cord and everything.... and on arrival to the hospital was praised by the nurses for having done such a great job....
I guess if I don't realize when I am in labor I'm all set to deliver at home? Hahaha.
FWIW since a lot of you are talking about it- we completely hated our snuza with DS. SO MANY false alarms. The owlet I would be interested in, but I'm not going to spend that kinda $$ unless H decides he must has (he's the spender in our house).

his two friends who were with him, one was crying and one was shaking so badly he couldn't drive, which is how my husband ended up driving... then they were banging on the roof for him to stop the car because the baby was coming... hahaha. He said it's because at home he always helps the goats give birth
Ok. I guess I'm not really a "reg", but I do try to contribute here - am definately a weirdo, though so... there is that. Maybe someone should start a "Am I a Lurker?" thread???
Here's my rando: Waiting for my GD blood draw at the lab today and there was a couple sitting right next to me making out! I mean full-on smootching and slurping noises included! OMG I was so disgusted! The lady was right next to me and kept bumping my arm while she was sucking his face off!!! EWWWWW!!!
I gotta say that I was afraid to post on TB initially - y'all can be intimidating!! And, that I was really afraid to make this pregnancy "real", as I have experienced some losses... I hope to keep up with ya'll during the rest of this journey!
As for HDBD, I seriously just figured out what that thread was for and what the acronym stood for, like, 3 weeks ago lol! What can I say I'm AMA and not so hip!!

I would have said something to those people. That's ridiculous.
We're a super tame group. I'm surprised you were nervous to get started but we're happy to have you here. Also, there's a PGAL thread the for support specifically around your worries with past losses. If you aren't already participating there, you should
Not sure if HDBD is on there or not, but if you're ever confused about acronyms, the PSA thread at the beginning for new members has a link to TB acronyms, I believe.
anyone else notice how none of the (at least self-advertised) LFAF'ers post here anymore? I don't mean the lurky-loos on the name boards but also the ones who used to go here?
@kmolleltz - well if you're not cool then I don't want wanna be. Perhaps the Supreme Mugwump of the LFAF'ers (I'm assuming that's what they call the one with the most rainbow awards in their siggy) told the O16 members they aren't allowed to go here anymore after the last name thread invasion?
@NoraAurora Friendly wager that they'll magically turn up now that they were mentioned under the false pretense that even being mentioned by another board is "drama"?
Since I'm in a wondering mood, I also wonder if our Knottie lurker is still lurking randoms and waiting for someone to wonder why Knottie lurkers lurk but don't post. In order to defend the honor of Knottie lurkers everywhere?
I've never come across a LFAF person who wasn't super sweet. As a group, they might be opinionated and/or snarky but that's a generalization. Most of them have been around for a long time and have valuable input. Maybe this is an UO but if this group isn't their jam, that's ok. You can't agree with everyone on the internet

If you happen to be referring to the knottie that I think you are referring to, I actually liked that one.

While we're (loosely) on the subject....did you know that we were "pretty rough" over here on O16? This info brought to you courtesy of late night lurking due to sleeplessness last night. (March intro thread page 3)
