@turtlemomma I wish you had some more clarity after today's appointment. I can't imagine the stress of not just knowing one way or the other. FWIW, you seem incredibly strong.
Omg... I went to spend all my money at Destination Maternity (haha) and come back to SO much stuff! Wouldn't trade you girls for anything eff that first time mom board! Lol
@TurtleMomma - what a frustrating non-answer. I'm so sorry you're family is going through this. I hope you get some answers soon!
eta- I always like the random bump pics. I just can't help but support a fellow preggo... Even if they are rando's
Dang! I come home from a baseball game to 70+ comments here!
+1 to the regs conversation. I try, but don't know what to say a lot, so I hope people think I go here!
I never know what I'm supposed to do about the lurker bellies on HDBD (when I can get my crappy wifi to open the pictures).
@TurtleMomma- sorry you still don't have a clear answer :-/ I hope they get to his eval sooner rather than later and you get some clear cut answers so you can all move forward.
I'm so far behind! You miss 10 hours on the board and it's like a week of real life has gone by
For packing a bag - last time, I was dilated 2 cm at 33 weeks and my doctor said I could give birth at any moment (I ended up making it to one day short of 39 weeks), so we packed our hospital bag at 33 weeks. We'll probably do the same this time around because it worked out fairly well. We would not have had time to pack last minute. Since I'd basically been in early labor since before 33 weeks (I had NSTs weekly from 33 weeks on and I was having tons of non-painful contractions), I went from water breaking to painful, very close contractions almost immediately and I had my baby about six hours later. I could definitely not have driven myself to the hospital. If my husband hadn't been home, I would have called a cab or an ambulance. They say the second time tends to be faster. That worries me a great deal. Third-time (or more) moms, was your second labor shorter than your first?
@TurtleMomma How frustrating to not get a clear answer. My nephew has Asperger's and it took a long time to get the right diagnosis for him so he could get an appropriate IEP in place. And it's hard to get anything done without a diagnosis. I'm sorry you have to wait so long.
@F47 I definitely don't feel like I've earned any regular status. It's so hard when I only discovered the community half way through. Everyone already had so much more time to get to know each other. I've tried to participate as much as possible and follow the rules so I don't make anyone mad! It also doesn't help that I was t really thinking when I signed up and I would have chosen a more 'name' name then my old college assigned screen name...
Oh but I will say even in the short time I've been on here, when I look at the hdbd board I don't recognize half the names... I am still so bummed about my B belly that I haven't participated (that and I hate pictures of myself). I do like to see what everyone is wearing though!
The test we did was a pre-screen (the STAT test in case anyone is curious) so we weren't expecting definitive answers, just pursue-or-don't-pursue formal testing.
Regardless, the developmental preschool that he's already qualified for is where he needs to be according to our evaluator. I'm doubly happy we have that already in place. They said regardless of if he's on the spectrum they can definitely work on a lot of behavior modification techniques that would be of benefit for him.
Thank you all for the positive vibes and well wishes.
@maf9866 if I'm not mistaken, I believe you can change your name. I don't know how, but I'm pretty sure it is possible.
Once I realized I was going to kee coming and posting I looked and couldn't find anything short of making a new page. Then I second guessed doing that because I didn't want anyone to think I was a troll with multiple profiles so I just sucked it up. Now I wish I had just created a new profile right away.
If anyone does know of a way, please let me know because I'd feel like slightly less of a 'stranger' if I made more of a normal screen name.
I think about posting in HDBD like, once a month or so. But I hate pics of myself and I'm super skin-suiter paranoid, so...then I just don't. But maybe someday!!
Y'all are making me feel so much better about almost never posting in HBDB! I don't remember to take pictures, by the time I remember I'm wearing something I don't want photographed, I don't feel comfortable asking people to take pics of me, but I hate always using my bathroom, and most of the backgrounds in my house are completely cluttered. I did the start of the 3rd trimester and I'll have a pic from the shower I'm sure.
@maf9866 - I changed mine by emailing community@thebump.com.
FWIW, I think your user name is fine.
Thanks! And thanks, haha. Sometimes I feel bad when I think of others trying to tag me. I feel like they are thinking 'what is that random string of letters and numbers'.
I plan to install both the car seats after my shower next week. I'll be almost 29 weeks, I don't plan to keep them in the car, I just want to test them, make sure they are in correctly and make sure the drivers seat can move back enough for H. Question: I know if you're in an accident the car seats need to be replaced. My question is do the bases need to also be replaced in an accident? For example could I install bases and leave them in my car or is it better to wait and install before taking babies home?

you need to replace bases if in an accident as well.
GUYS. I logged on this morning to 120 new posts in this thread. I know I'm like 8-9 or so hours ahead of most of you but dangggg y'all got chatty! Haha. Proud to say I read every post.
Also, when people talk about how they hope they are a regular I always wonder who is considered the judge of the regulars. Like they sit on a throne with a wand and sweep you to the side of regular or SS or lurker or what...
Wow so many comments!! I'm probably not considered a regular because I lurk more than I post. But I do read most things!! But usually by the time I catch up I feel like I have nothing more to add. Lol.
Also, where is this secret new group? I'm guilty of just looking on this BMB group pretty much exclusively...
My current non related discussion random, is our stupid apartment fire alarm went off last evening. H is out of town so I had to get cats in the carriers, and walk down the flights of stairs by myself. Major ugh. I was so out of breath when I finally got out of the building. I can not imagine doing that by myself when I also have to get LO out as well...I talked to H last night about it as I think it wouldn't be bad to do some drills.
And after all that, I see police cars pull up about 10 minutes after I evacuated, and start talking to the fire fighters. So I'm guessing someone pulled the alarm maliciously. People really irritate me!!
So I realized apparently my hands started swelling because my wedding ring used to be a little loose and now it won't slide over my knuckle (didn't try cold water, soap etc yet). I was just wondering if people usually ends up taking off your rings when your hands start swelling and if so, what do you do with it during the rest of the pregnancy? I never really take off my ring usually so I f I take it off I'm kind of scared to wear it on a necklace because it doesn't seem secure...
What the heck ladies! I can't keep up with you guys!!! Lol
@kmolleltz There was about 118 when I just checked and I'm in the states, so I was apparently just too lazy to bump last night. Lol
@Pupatella I wouldn't consider you a lurker. I feel like I see you around fairly often. But I'm guilty of lurking more than posting too. It's hard to keep up sometimes cause I feel like I'm always on when no one else is. Lol
@UponAStar16 My ring has been in its box since I hit my second trimester. I'd wear it around my neck, but jewelry has been bugging me lately so I don't bother. I never wore my ring every day anyway because of my job.
@UponAStar16 I can't wear my wedding band so it sits in my ring box, but my engagement ring still fits so I put that on. I take it off to sleep though cause I find my hands swell more during the night (even pre pregnancy) but I know ladies that take them off and wear a fake or just doesn't wear one until after the swelling is gone when the baby arrives.
I pretty much never post on HDBD because I 1) hate selfies, 2) still look more bloated than pregnant and 3) have an irrational concern about judgey internet strangers lol
I've been wearing my rings on a chain around my neck and wearing a gold & silver band in a larger size on my ring finger. I do miss wearing my rings and I miss wearing cute necklaces that I can't wear now because my rings are around my neck and it looks too busy. @UponAStar16 I've never felt like my rings were in danger of falling off the chain or anything but I am using a good quality white gold chain with a strong clasp. I probably wouldn't use a cheap one for fear the clasp would break. They make necklaces that are specifically for wearing your rings around your neck during pregnancy. I've seen them on Pinterest. I'm sure a quick google search would bring up a bunch of options.

I was a die-hard NSYNC fan (and I was like 19/20 at the time - that's hard core!) - Lance was alllllllways my fave back then! Of course, him later coming out was the story of my life. Jonathan from NKOTB was always my favorite back in the day - and my little high school boyfriend came out in college!
Anyway, Lance has never not been hot in my eyes. Though, he's definitely upped his game!
@UponAStar16 I finally just took mine off for fear of them getting stuck and having to cut them off or something as my now-sausage fingers continued to swell! And, because I like jewelry too much, and adding different necklaces to outfits, I stored mine away and went the fake route. I found a simple "engagement ring" for like $15 that I got in a size up and have been wearing that for the last couple weeks.
A girl I was friends with in college is pregnant and crafting a little wreath to go on the door at the hospital. Is that a thing?
To go on her hospital room door?? Who has time to do that? Who even thinks of that?
okay... glad to hear I'm not the only one. I guess if you just have an itch to craft something, it makes sense. What she's making is super cute so far. But I can tell it's going to take a lot of time and then she's only going to get a couple of days' use out of it (unless she uses it in the room somehow), she's not going to give 2 shits about it at the time of, and then she's going to have to deal with lugging that home on top of everything else they're going to be making sure they have when they leave the hospital. It's decided... I will not be crafting anything for the door lol.
@bnsmith85 Knowing me, if I DID craft anything for the door, I would most likely forget it at home as we headed out to the hospital. Therefore I shall save myself the grief and NOT craft anything for the door. I mean, we're only there like a day or 2 (barring any complications...), right??
@CopperBoom86 The tacky has traveled North to Oklahoma where all these girls are psuedo-southern. And I hate it. I'm so sick of obnoxious bling on EVERYTHING, ornate and bulky cross accessories, and teal and leopard print... who even thought of that and how did it stick?! Gag.
