Ooohhh yeah. My niece doesn't have a blanket and she is in the one with no arm holes but her feet her zipped up. SIL said it's because she doesn't want her to learn to get out of the crib, but she has never tried before just bc she has always been in the sac. I was told she freaks out because she doesn't like "night night" time not because of the sac. But I guess if you have been in it your whole life you wouldn't know any better haha!
I don't judge for using a sleep sack as long as possible because every kid and situation is different, but I do feel bad for your niece that her arms are being restrained at nearly 2 years old. (If I'm reading that right.)

Oh no her arms are free. I meant to say there were arm holes and just her feet were zipped. And hey, you do what you gotta do to get your baby to sleep. I get it!!

Yeah, that's different if the arm holes are open. If her arms were down, I would feel really bad for her!
I'm sitting here reading all of this swaddling talk and, at first, thought to myself that we already have a couple of the swaddle-me's in a few sizes as well as some A&A swaddles so we should be good. DD preferred the swaddle-me's and they were so easy to use... Then, I thought - wait, every kid is so different - what if this one doesn't like the swaddle-me's and we have to resort to a more "advanced" swaddle. There are so many options of brands and techniques. I started to feel a little overwhelmed. And then I realized I will still have all of you ladies, and all of your experiences to help guide me if/when that time comes. Total relief. This BMB is awesome.
@diagonalley yep! I think pretty much any of them besides the special brand they sell at Target are bigger. And softer and easier to swaddle with because they're so big.
It's not even 9 am, I just kicked my shoes off under my desk (flip-flops because I just don't care anymore) and my feet are so swollen that the straps left lines. Ugh. This just started again within the past few days.
@UnwritteN12 Sorry about the swelling. That was one of my least favorite things of late pregnancy last time. I will say I'm impressed with two babies in there, you've made it this long before it started getting that bad!
GRR how am I going to make it sitting in this chair at work for the next 6.5 weeks!! Sooo uncomfortable!!! I try to walk a few minutes every hour or so but my office building is only 1000 sq ft and it is WAY to hot outside!!!
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
The barista at Starbucks just told me I'm the cutest pregnant person ever. thank you for that, barista!!! You totally made up for the fact that you're out of white mocha syrup!
@kosmo86, I wish I had encouraging words, instead I'm saying this: I don't know!! How ARE we going to make it?? I need to be suspended in water for the next few weeks! I suddenly feel like a ginormous pregnant woman who needs to lean back just to breathe or do that ugly sit where my knees are spread out and my belly can expand down!!!
@kosmo86. I get up to "go to the bathroom" about every 10 minutes and I really only need to go about half that often. I also brought some yoga pants to slip on and stretch it out when I can. Personally I like deep squats, so I just hold on to a railing or a counter top and get looooow. My office is pretty casual, small and health-focused so I can get away with a lot more than others can. I'd try to find ways you can stretch at your desk for extra relief.
I also have a lumbar support pillow and box under my desk to prop my feet up. And occasionally I say "eff it!" and leave early
So the nausea has come back in full force and I just cried at my desk when a well-meaning coworker asked if I was alright. How embarrassing!
Just visited the nurse at my office who gave me a gravol and now I am debating heading home. I feel bad as I have work to do, need to train my replacement but all I want to do is crawl back into bed.
@geminigirl16 Just chiming in to make sure you're getting enough fluids. My doctor said if I start getting nauseous, light headed, or have a headache to think back and make sure I was drinking a lot. She said those are the first most common symptoms of dehydration. She said with the really hot weather lately she wanted to make sure I was aware of the symptoms. Just passing a long in case you realize you might be low on your water intact for the day. I'm sorry you're having the nauseous feeling...that's horrible anytime but especially now.

I think the days of getting complements about how cute my bump is are officially in my past. Maybe it's corresponding the the time when I embraced the waddle. Or wearing exercise clothes in public.

Well, she caught me on a good day, my hair is clean and I have a meeting today with my new boss to tell him what I do, so I look clean today, at least.
@PoodleDoodleOoo I'll get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night sometimes just to get up and stretch my hips. I don't know how those of you stuck at a desk all day do it.
I wish my toddler understood that leaning hard against and/or using my belly as a trampoline hurts me. I feel bad because I keep having to ask her to readjust or get off of me, but when she pushes up against where the baby is, they are painfully squishing me.

It really is awful! My stomach is always sore from her jabs.
@camichael84 I feel your pain! I'm constantly torn between telling DD not to sit this way or that, not jump around me and my belly, etc and wanting to just pull her on top of me and squeeze her. I'm on pelvic rest after my L&D visit last week so I can't pick her up anymore which means I don't get good "squeeze hugs". Honestly, it's probably bothering me more than her. I just can't wait until I can scoop her up and squeeze her again!
@kosmo86 yesssss, sitting in a work chair is awful! Although, I am grateful for my ability to recline; we took my grandma to a play last night and were sitting for 4+ hours in some of the most uncomfortable chairs ever. The manager also came over and laughed at me trying to get comfy in my seat (I'm sure I did look ridiculous, but not a reason to comment on it).
@KimmySchmidt I had a good 2 weeks of people smiling at my bump and telling me it was cute. I have officially passed into the side eye my bump stage, or jaw drops when they realize I have 2 months left. This is gonna get old real fast.
Swaddling - I'm going to have to secretly swaddle my babies. My mom, for some reason, thinks it's a form of child abuse. Seriously. She gets SO MAD about it that we can't even have a conversation regarding it. My older brother swaddled my eldest nephew and my mom says nephew just screamed and screamed and it looked like it was torture. I've asked her before why so many people do it and swear by it if it's horrible for the baby and by that point she's upset because she's thinking of how uncomfortable the babies must be with their limbs all bound up.
So... Obviously each baby reacts differently to different things. I'm going to see how ours reacts to swaddling. If he screams and cries while swaddled then we're obviously not going to continue, but if he calms down and acts comfy then why not?
@MrsVoorhees Why are they ALWAYS out of White Mocha syrup?! I never get a drink with WM in it but I'm constnatly hearing Starbucks baristas tell other customers there's no more left. I guess I need to try that stuff.
@camichael84 - My kids have to constantly be reminded too. Somehow I got both of them on my lap last night to read a book. Elle was pressed up against my boobs in a really odd way and Robert usually is jabbing his elbows into my belly. It's all I can do some days to not say "Don't touch me!"
I can use my amazon completion discount 60 days before my due date and I've just come to the realization that that is two days from now. I'm over here like:
I've actually been thinking about it recently. I remember having a weight restriction after McKenna was born. I'm wondering if that means I won't be able to pick her up for a couple weeks. I feel like that would be really hard on the both of us. Especially while she's adjusting to not being the only child anymore.
So I have been so proud of myself for being able to keep up with my cardio routine this pregnancy (even though I have to slow down and take lots of walking breaks). Well it's official. I am literally too fat to jog now. I just tried doing a very slow trot on the treadmill, and my body was all "NOPE!"
I took DD to swim class this morning and thought I was going to die just from the sweltering humidity in the indoor pool. My hands and feet are so swollen that there is no way I could get my ring off. I never swelled this bad with my first pregnancy. F*ck summer.
@RN1stBae lol people are still sitting with their legs closed? I've been spread eagle since about 20 weeks! Started because of pelvic pain and now it's that and the giant bump. Oh, and the whole "I stopped trying months ago" thing.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom - I need my legs closed to support my belly! i can't let it hang down or the weight pulls too much and hurts my back even more! It's so weird feeling though- my belly takes up like half of my lap.
@LakeR2014 Thank you for the kinds words and reminder about my fluids. I have drank some water today but probably not enough so I will be conscious of keeping my intake up. The gravol finally kicked in but I am really feeling over with being pregnant today. Crossing my fingers that tomorrow is a better day!
After crap sleep on Monday I decided to go ahead and take half a Unisom last night to help me stay asleep (I haven't yet refilled my Diclegis prescription) . Got in bed about 9:30 and by 10 I was out. DH woke up me around 7:30 to kiss me bye before work.
I'm usually up around 7, which is about the time DH starts making a ton of noise getting ready for work. He even flops down on the bed to put his shoes on. He's my daily alarm clock, that sweet man.
So he wakes me up and I say "bye, see you later" and I think: "I'll indulge and sleep for a few more minutes." A minute later I wake up and it's 10am. I'm just glad I work from home or my boss would be upset with me today.
But you know what? I refuse to feel guilty. Sleeping super duper late after a rough night's sleep any other night won't be an option soon so CARPE FLIPPIN' DIEM.
@KimmySchmidt I didn't pay attention to the music. It was a pretty cheesy video (Dudu, anyone?) but I'll have to watch it again just for that.
@AnnaS930 good to know about the A&A easy swaddles. Will have to check them out. I love the softness of this brand but I swear we'll spend this kid's college fund on those blankets.
@UnwritteN12 I'm also surprised you made it so far with twins, in the summer no less, before having significant swelling.
I don't want to start a twatwaffle thread, but I'm pretty sure twatwaffle of the week goes to Fred for the following infractions:
1) yesterday he tore apart three big boxes full of little juice boxes. He punctured three of the little juice boxes so they leaked all over the carpet. Like dude, you don't even LIKE juice boxes! Why you gotta do that to me!!! He also left a lovely cardboard mess all over the place. That jerk.
2) Then today, I tooted a little bit (just a little!) and he was all "i'm gonna stick my nose in it" and wasn't even casually trying to sniff a little (like he normally does) - he just went right for it. Like mmmm, yeah stinky! gotta stick my nose in that! In public, of course. So embarrassing.
3) he had the nerve to dig in the work trash right under my nose and managed to be stealthy enough to tear apart a muffin wrapper. He's supposed to HELP MITIGATE my hearing loss - not take advantage of it! Again that jerk!!!
Also thinking how are there two more months? So humid, our ac isn't doing a good job more like I think it's going to break....
I'm at the airport to fly into my hometown for the showers. Baby will have been on five plane rides before birth. I'm on a tiny 12 row plane, so small we have to shuttle over.

Took one bite and totally wish they were scrambled instead.
