Ahhh love celebrity drama haha Basically, Kanye put out a song a while back that talked about Taylor Swift. He said he had cleared the song with her and she thought it was cool. Taylor Swift comes out doing her wounded bird routine (sorry I'm biased) saying the song was hurtful and offensive (he refers to her as "that bitch" in the song) and basically saying Kanye is a bully that picks on her and that he never cleared the song with her. Kanye always maintained he did.
Last night Kim K posted a video on Snapchat showing that she and Kanye had secretly recorded the conversation where she approved the song. Now Taylor is saying he promised to play her the full song and never did, and he didn't warn her he would say "that bitch" so she still feels like she didn't get to approve the song.
ashleyp625 Mine only drew afterwards. I went in to the lab, they gave me the a smaller bottle of the sugary drink to finish within 5 minutes, as soon as I finished they noted the time and said that I had to sit in the waiting room of the lab for 1 hour then they'd bring me back to draw blood for the test.
Like a previous post said, I honestly didn't think the drink was that bad. Both time I've felt it tasted like sugary Hawaiian punch, but ours was bright red.
@Pupatella Typically on the birth announcements threads you post your announcement, a picture if you want, and yes, you may include your birth story.
Birth stories are also one of the only things that you are encouraged to make a separate post about and add a link to that post into your announcement so that others may comment and congratulate you personally, as well as ask questions about your birth story/ask for advice from your experience.
Here's another random.. Target had these little books for $1 each in that special section they have when you enter the store.. Thought they were cute and if baby destroys them by chewing/gumming, I wouldn't totally be put out.
For those who are planning newborn photos, how soon are you scheduling it for? I want to get lifestyle photos done when he's a newborn----but how is it possible to know how crazy life will be then? Most websites I'm looking at say within first two weeks... but will I be able to normally function then?
This could have been my petty problem for last week. But I showed up to my 'one hour' glucose test. Only to find out it was actually two hours. So I had one blood draw before the drink and then two more. They were running late, so for the last draw I all but showed up at the counter at two hours on the dot demanding they take my blood so they wouldn't force me to reschedule. Oh and their fridge was on the fritz so I had warm orange flat soda that burned going down. It even says on the side of the bottle, please chill to increase palatibility. Thankfully i passed. Phew.
DS has camp all this week from 9-12, so minus drive times I have a little over 2 hours to myself each day. Today, I sat on my butt for a bit, dyed my hair, shaved, took a long shower and read my book. It was awesome!

I'm having mine around 10 days after he is born. I'm also doing a lifestyle shoot at home and while I have had 2 c sections and there is a good chance of a third now I'm not sure I'll feel great but I'll just have to suck it up. Thankfully it's at home though so I can lay down and relax if needed.

My due date is Oct. 20th and the photographer suggested Nov 1. I thought it was a little soon (what if they let me go pretty late!) but she said that she usually schedules them for between 10 and 14 days after the due date and just makes an adjustment on the rare occasion it's necessary. She's coming to our house.
Thanks @Schell2013 and @scostel2! I just go back and forth as to whether I should do it or not! I don't wanna regret it, you know?
I don't regret my sessions with my first two girls. They did feel long and I was sore from my c sections but I look at the pictures on my wall in my living room all the time and love them so much. Those days go by real quick, it's nice to have pictures to remember them by, cause I was really brain dead and sleep deprived I didn't get many of my own that were of framing quality.

@annabenanna We did ours right between 10-12 days old with DS and I was post c-section so I was worried. We ended up with an awesome photographer who had chairs for us (we were in studio) and got the family photos out of the way first and there is a LOT of positioning, changing of lighting, moving hands etc so it's a lot of down time. I think it took us two hours and while I felt tired and sore, I was in no way worn out or feeling like I couldn't handle it. It felt nice to get out, chat with an adult about things that weren't my boobs or poops, and get something done. I wouldn't have wanted to go within the first week like some people try to do, by the middle of week 2 my body was getting itself together and we had an understanding of babies "schedule".
That said, I've not began looking for a photographer this time.
All this talk of the glucose reminds me that since I didn't see my MW at last months appointment (I went to the OB for a growth scan) that I'm behind on that and getting the blood work for the rhogam shot. I guess I'll be having a busy week.
@annabenanna... They say you should do it between 7-14 days of age because at that age they basically sleep through anything (after is when they start being more aware of movement and noise while asleep). I think if you have a photographer experienced with NB photography, they'll be well equipped to handle a 7-14 day PP mom I also think it's super worth it bc they're just so damn cute
HUBBY FINALLY FELT A KICK!!!!!! Sorry for the caps I'm just so excited as I'm 28 weeks today and he hadn't felt it yet which was starting to seriously bum me out, but he felt a good kick, even saw his thumb move up as our little guy nailed him hard.
@bnsmith85, I hope that by day 14, I would have had a shower by then and look slightly human. I'll send her an email for dates today. It's becoming so real now!

Any other VBAC mommas taking birth classes? My only other birth was an emergency c-section due to pre-e, but I know what the hospital is like and how to care for a newborn so I'm not sure if I want/need them? I just thought I'd put my feelers out there and see what other c-sec/VBAC moms are doing.

I would just like to take a moment to express the importance of vigilant and consistent dental and oral care during pregnancy- My teeth and gums have gotten so bad over the last two years, my dentist says due to my body giving all of its nutrients to the babies, and putting my teeth and bones on the back burner. Take your vitamins! Get plenty of calcium! Brush and floss!

If there was more here other than the standard hospital one that I already took with my first I would be interested in it. Specifically I would love to do a hypno baby class cause I do hope to not use much if any pain meds. They don't offer than here, I know you can do it online and I might consider that route. I'm not taking anything unless it was that.

Agreed. After my first pregnancy, I had a lot of problems with my teeth and ended up needing a couple root canals. I chipped an old filling in between my front teeth two weeks ago, which made me get to the dentist rather than holding out until after pregnancy (wasn't sure about x-rays but my ob ok'd them). Turns out I needed two fillings and a root canal.
I need to make an appointment with my dentist I need to find a new one cause the one I love is just too far away and has hit that age where he's missing routine stuff. I'm also trying to take my vitamins again (got lax there) especially since my iron levels are getting low. Brushing I got though!!
I didn't know teeth could be a problem. I'm a noob obviously
My mom would tell me at the beginning of my pregnancy make sure you get your calcium because the baby will leech everything and you could lose your teeth. I would respond with the baby taking its calcium isn't what causes teeth issues, it's the all day sickness and the acid from puking that causes teeth issues....maybe she knew more than I gave her credit lol just don't tell her I admitted that!!
I made hubby eat a piece of fresh cayenne pepper WITH seeds for shits and giggles
That moment when you think DH just got up from the recliner to come sit with you bc you're stressed about vacation prep at work and home and he wants to be supportive.... But then he grabs the neck massager
I posted this in Twatwaffle Tuesday - but my landlord hasn't accept my July rent yet (we do e-transfers) and it's kinda freaking me out as I don't know why. I just sent her an email, as well as a text, just in case her email is the issue, but now it's a waiting game to see if/when she responds. Luckily when I view the transfer on my bank, it shows the date I sent it, so I took a screen shot of that, just in case, but ya, I don't like loose ends like this.
So I have a friend who constantly complains to me about her weight. Before I got pregnant I was on a really strict workout routine with a personal trainer and was trying to watch what I ate for most of the time. I've become a little more slack since being pregnant, but I try to walk a couple times a week. My friend refuses to help herself but still complains to me about how nothing fits and all I want to say is GO TO THE GYM. But she says she doesn't have time. I mean, what does she want me to tell her?! Plus, I'm pregnant so complaining about weight to me isn't exactly helpful.

@ibabyloveb87 I can't stand people who do this. I understand venting, but constantly complaining about the same thing, especially when it's not something they're not going to be open to criticism about, is pointless and obnoxious. If you're that unhappy with something, at least try and do something about it. It's hard and it's daunting, but at least put some effort and I'll respect that.
@nataliemaephotography if you see this (I never get notifications on mobile but, in case you might), did that thing with your security deposit from your ex-landlord ever get sorted out?
