Not exactly nursery related but I'm working on storage options right now. We have a major lack of storage in our house and the baby stuff is taking over already. I got this idea for bottle storage from Pinterest
Great idea @NicholeL16! We might have to use that one. I have every kitchen anything you could think of so my kitchen cabinet space is limited (read: non-existent).
Also... the furniture people just called to schedule the nursery furniture that arrived today! YAY!!! This time next week, the nursery will have more than the stroller in it!
We ordered our mini crib yesterday and what do you know, it showed up at 9 am this morning! As I am the handy one in this relationship (and DH is away for the weekend and can't yell at me for lifting stuff) I went ahead and put it together. Not nearly at the level of all of you but I still wanted to share The crib hooks on to the side of the bed so there's no gap and it's quite stable. Once the mattress comes it will be flat with our bed. We also ordered a rail for the open side to be closed during the day when I'm not in the bed.
Aside from that I was planning on cleaning out my nightstand and one of my drawers for baby's stuff. According to former comments I am grossly underestimating space requirements. I already have most of his newborn clothes and they take up virtually no space. What am I missing?!
You guys- we finally moved the guest bed out of the nursery! And our crib came earlier in the week too, so now I just have to put it together and place it against this wall. Moving the bed has caused me to so much anxiety for the past several weeks, this feels like a gigantic accomplishment.
I put the crib together today, so now I'm just waiting for the mattress to arrive. There is still a lot of stuff that needs to be moved out of this room, but I'm relieved to have made some progress this weekend.

We got our dresser this weekend, but DH still has to put it together. After that I just have to hang up the stuff for the walls and wait for our shower on August 28th. I did get Bean's closet organized by size and color, yeah I'm a little OCD sometimes. I can't wait to finish to post a picture. I'm envious of everyone that's finished already!!
I made some major progress organizing the closet this weekend. I saw this over the door rack idea on Pinterest. I found it at Target for cheap and I love it.
@nlane0723 (sorry this isn't exactly on topic) how did you guys find doing the ship lap? Your inspiration picture is basically how we are redoing our foyer but I am slightly anxious about having the added work of doing the ship lap.
I used this tutorial and it was super easy (and cheap). Less than $50 for an 8x15 wall (with a large window). The hardest part was making cuts around the window and outlet. @maf9866
I finally have something to share after drooling over all of your nurseries for months. The first coat of paint is up on the striped walls. The other two walls will be gray. Hooray for progress!!
I've lurked on this thread for so long while I finish up the nursery. There are so many gorgeous designs here!
My nursery's more or less finished at this point and the bedding came in today but these pictures were taken before I put the bed skirt on. The high chair was made by my great-grandfather and used by my grandpa (so it's 80+years old) and the rocker was my dad's that my mom recovered in a color that matched the room. I made the decorations that are over the dresser and my mom crocheted the blanket that's on the end of the crib.
Sorry if the pics are big, I've never posted pictures on here and I'm not sure how they'll turn out!
Thoughts on using this maybe over the crib? My mom made it to use at the shower and the colors match what we're doing in the nursery.... Plus the paint color on the letters is the same as what's on the nursery walls (but I'm worried that'll blend in too much. Opinions welcome

@krzyriver I'm hoping to make a DIY version of that mobile... I'm not super crafty so we'll see how it goes, but it looks doable!
