@bnsmith85 my SO and I are on the search for soft bedding. Everywhere we have been to the bedding just didn't feel like something we would want on our LO. It's cute my SO is the one being extra picky for the babes.
@afry613 Serena & Lily has very soft crib sheets. We got them for DS1 and after 3 years of use they are still extemely soft and the color hasn't faded at all... And those sheets got washed a lot!
@MRSCORKER I used a dresser and a closet for LO. I organized with putting onesies and pjs and comfortable pants in the drawers- along with his towels wash clothes etc and I used one draw to house things that he wasn't fitting into yet. Then I hung up all the outfits and onesies and tops that weren't comfy or undershirts. I also hung up all his jeans and shorts. You get so much clothing at the shower and you end up buying so much i think it helps to hang some of it so you can see what you have. I also hung the older sizes clothing- that wasn't pjs or comfortable clothing.
I haven't been able to work on the baby's nursery because I'm on bedrest and we need to redo the floor in his room... It has a lovely slant! Old house- they reinforced the foundation but never fixed the floor. So hopefully we (my father in law) will get started on that in the next two weeks. He's just finishing up our new mudroom now. I'm lucky he's so handy and wanting to help!
but I am going to start ordering somethings so I can have it ready to be decorated when the floor if is done! Jealous of all these beautiful nurseries!!!
We made a lot of progress over the past month. We are almost done. Just have to get the decals on the walls and get our glider, changing table and get the sheet set in the crib. Our theme is "Love you to the moon and back" and we will have some Mickey Mouse thrown in there. Love how it all came out!!
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
We got his dresser today and it feels so much more like a room already. I'm so thankful for this board where I can post pictures every step of the way. I haven't been tempted to post much of anything on social media since I can do it here.
Still only have a crib. I am ordering curtains in the next several weeks and DH should have the other furniture refinished in the next week or so, but it felt so good to organize SOMETHING in his room! They're all in his closet now until I have the changing table.
Note: I realize Baby B won't need goggles for a while but DH was a swimmer so my dad found it appropriate to get him swimmy diapers and his first pair of goggles.
@krzyriver Yes, and I don't want to be that girl. We posted our announcement and then the gender. I posted about being happy after hearing the heartbeat for the first time and then a bump pic on the 4th. Other than that I've kept it on TB
@MRSCORKER... Oh the joys of putting together IKEA furniture. Lol... My desk is IKEA and when I was putting it together a few years ago I literally had the ENTIRE floor of the living room covered in furniture parts and pieces... And our living room is pretty large. Best of luck to you and your H while you put together the baby stuff!!
@Kc0825 We only did four under the existing shelf and the bar. I wanted at least five or six cause they were so small, but my dad was afraid they'd be too close together. Here's a wider shot of the closet: I didn't want to put a lot of time and money into it because we rent, but I needed a little somehing in there. It was kind of useless the way it was.
Here is my current nursery don't be too jealous. I know I know, it's a little too fancy but only the best for my babe We are currently building and it won't even be done until the end of November.

My nursery looks like yours! Only maybe 2 weeks ahead. So much for nesting.
Welcome to the 3rd trimester... yesterday I was hit with extreme nesting mode. I started out with just planning on doing my normal weekly cleaning. I was quickly distracted by organizing the spare room/office (read: random crap room) in the basement, the nightstand drawers, and the bathroom shelves and cabinets. I've been sorting, organizing, and throwing out junk throughout the house since this winter, and now only the garage is left. Nothing directly related to baby or nursery, but I feel like there is more space and organization to figure out where to put baby's stuff. Also, we settled on the final decision of furniture arrangement in the nursery. Now we just need some decor... and like everything for baby lol! Can't wait for my shower on August 21st!
DH and I picked out the floors we want (we have to put down new flooring in the whole upstairs) the other day! We decided to go with hardwoods and DH can just install them himself.
We also went to finish registering yesterday and we changed our mind on the color scheme. We were doing lavender and green. Now we are doing a minty/aqua color, much more our taste.
We have a crib and changing table that needs to be put together but can't until the floor is in. We also have a dresser that needs to be painted which I should go ahead and start soon.
The first thing I need to do is get the ceiling painted, paint the trim, then paint the walls. That way, once the floor goes in, the room will be ready to set up/.
@mrszoess Thank you! I wanted the closet to still be useable for hanging larger clothing (in case we're still stuck here when he's older lol) but make it useable for baby too. I'll probably put some baskets on a couple of the shelves and throw socks/caps/etc in them.
I'm so jealous of all of you who are so far along with your nurseries! It's been so fun watching for inspiration. I've done absolutely zero except for buying a used crib (great deal on a new-condition pottery barn white sleigh crib) that is in pieces in my basement. I've had the hardest time deciding what I want to do for colors. I finally found something on Pinterest that I want to try, but of course the woman who did the post doesn't know what colors she used because she ended up mixing two together! Wish me luck not totally screwing up the colors (and please let me know if you have suggestions on similar colors you have used!). Also I found someone to paint the lines, so I have less chance ending up a Pinterest fail lol.
@gatorMom2014 My sister did that in her dining room and it turned out so beautiful.
Our mattress came today (after Amazon told me it was lost in the mail). I love how it looks with the sheets on can't wait to get our bookcase later this week- then we will just have decorative stuff to do.
I need to set up her crib, but I'm debating on painting it ... it's a different wood finish than the other furniture ... any paint tips from my DIY mommas ?!
@mommabear444 I would be very careful painting the crib, since LO may decide to teethe on it when she gets older. You don't want her ingesting paint. We ended up with a hand-me-down crib in a different finish than the furniture I had planned, and we ended up painting/refinishing the other furniture rather than repaint the crib for exactly this reason.
@Julia70286 love Disney! Just wanted to add that Walmart has some pretty good discounts on tsums. They look slightly different then the Disney store ones but they are legitimately licensed. They have sets of the small ones for $8, medium ones and those new tsums that are like dream lites (the have a soft glow and sounds).
DH's dad made a crib skirt and valance with material we bought at Joann's! He's going to add a backing to the valance because the material is pretty thin, but I love how they turned out! Not sure if you can make it out, but it's classic Winnie the Pooh material.
We have the room painted!!!! Waiting for my shower (7/30) to do the rest. Im going to see if a friend can paint a tree onto one of the walls for me. Unfortunately I won't have any furniture until after the shower. but I can't complain since my parents are gifting us the furniture.
Today I'm hoping to finish putting the shelves in the closet of my son's new room so we can get him moved to a new room and use the smaller room for the nursery. I really just wanna start doing things in there. At this point I don't think we'll be able to paint but O well I guess. I see everyone nurseries on here and they look awesome. Super jealous!
We are in the process of painting the nursery. We got our other son moved into his big boy Jake and the Pirates room! My sister in law also finished our first piece of decor for baby's room! I love seeing everyone's progress!

Crib rail covers work if you have a baby who likes to chew on the crib. We did that with DS and they worked great!
