My friend keeps sending me pictures of all this super ugly old used baby gear and goes "do you like this? " I don't want to be rude or hurt her feelings but I also don't want her to spend money on something I wouldn't use... Am I a horrible person? if she gave it to me I would smile say thank you but she hasn't bought it yet so I feel like i should tell the truth?

My husbands grandma did this a lot last time, I would usually tell her that we already have one in mind, but thank you! It seemed to come across okay.
@Megan324 - i get that a lot from MIL. It got so bad that I basically said that we're not interested in second-hand items unless we know the original owners because of safety and cleanliness concerns. That's not necessarily true, I'm fine with certain second hand things that can be cleaned properly, but it stopped the daily emails of "do you want this crappy item?"
Just had an appointment with my OB this morning for a growth scan (31 + 4).
Both babies are head down again (!), although B is in sort of an backwards 7-shape (feet towards my midline) up under my ribs and halfway down my side because his brother is hogging all the space. I'm feeling pretty pleased because that's exactly how I thought they were positioned (it also explains why I can't breathe; B's legs are basically entirely under my ribcage, pressing on my lungs).
They're weighing in at 4 lb, 4 oz (A) and 3 lb, 12 oz (B). Doctor says they're concordant, so I don't need to worry that this is the first time they haven't been the same weight. Both are average weight and looking good with normal heart rates.
A is sunny side up and B is facing my back. We couldn't get any pictures of B because of how he's sitting, but we caught A opening his mouth and sticking his tongue out so we've got a short series of ultrasound pics showing him doing it!
I only gained 1.2 lb in the last 2 weeks, but my weight is still on track and my BP is good.
One more bi-weekly appointment and then I switch to once a week appointments! Eek!
Oh, and MIL was wrong (surprise). They haven't dropped. They're in the same position (or maybe very slightly higher) than they were a month ago.
I'm very happy right now, although my mom made a comment about "how small they are" for the time I have left (she just doesn't get that they're average sized for their gestational age and babies grow fast towards the end despite having had two herself), but I'm letting it roll off my back. She means well, it's just misplaced concern.
I wish I had my OB in my pocket all the time to remind me that things are fine when people start commenting on things they clearly know nothing about.
So many BH today. Since my cervix is so thin this time, I'm supposed to go in and be monitored if they pick up at all, but I really don't want to. My body is just so weird. I went to L&D 4 times before I had DS2. Each time I was having legit contractions 5-6min apart for hours on the monitor, but then it would stop. So it's not like completely false alarms, it just makes me feel so dumb every time.
Anybody else producing colostrum yet? I had super sharp pains in one boob last night and it felt a little engorged. I squeezed, and sure enough colostrum came out. I have a message in with my OB because it's yellow/white on one side (which is normal) but orange/pink or white streaked with blood on the other side. I know it's normal to get blood sometimes when bfing, just not sure about at this stage.
@fireflygirl12 I'm definitely producing. It's been a few weeks for me. Usually, it only comes out if I hand express, but I do have some spots in my bra now, which must have happened when I lean over and squish the girls a bit.
I have been getting "spots" in my bra for my left boob for weeks now and a couple weeks ago (TMI?) I was actually leaking quite a bit. That hasn't happened since then though.
@fireflygirl12 We have! His name will be Felix How's the name choosing going for you guys? Still waiting until birth to make the final call?
@MojieJo practice it girl! I rarely get called out or asked nasty questions, and I attribute it to my RBF. No, sorry, mama doesn't want your opinion.
I am really bummed that there was no bachelorette on this week. I need a new show; any suggestions are appreciated!
ETA: I got my tdap yesterday and my arm is super sore. My doc kinda acted like it was ridiculous that I was getting it in the first place, AND asked me if it was safe in pregnancy. DUDE, shouldn't you know this? Jeez.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
Just had our annual benefits meeting very stressful that I have to pick out new benefits 4 weeks before my due date. Does anyone have a HDHP as apposed to an regular HMO/PPO. I have never had an HDHP and I am nervous to switch but it looks like it will save me money.
RedMar- prime day kinda sucked last year but it is worth looking at. They are having sales all week to gear up for it and I have actually found a few small good deals already.
fireflygirl12 yet I have been seeing colostrum. I am pretty close to having leaky boobs at this point, the tinyest bit of pressure causes leaking.
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
Thanks for the support, girls. Spoke some more with my brother and found out SIL got there before her dad had the aneurysm, so she did get to see and talk to him some before it happened. I'm so glad for that.
I'm pretty sure baby boy flipped. I went from having all movement down low to having all movement up by my ribs. Defiantly a feeling I need to get used to!
@UnwritteN12 I am so glad you posted about craving ice today because I had the most INTENSE craving for it and had to stop at Jimmy John's for a cup full on my way home! I do suspect it is my anemia even though I tested just below normal iron levels 2 weeks ago. But I will talk to my doctor next week about it just to be safe. I do take iron in my prenatal and eat iron 90% iron fortified cereal almost every day as well as nuts and seeds and occasionally spinach. But yeah, ice never tasted so good!!!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
@fireflygirl12 I am producing colostrum as well. It doesn't leak or anything but sometimes they start to tingle and ache and if I squeeze a tiny bit will come out.
I got butterflies yesterday thinking about the girls getting to read Harry Potter for the first time when they're older. I so wish I could read it for thr first time again! I'm thinking about making them wait for each book for their age to turn the same as Harry's so they don't binge read them...I'm thinking about this to an uncomfortable level of nerd.
@MrsVoorhees you are not the only HP nerd that has thought this through Lol! I can't wait till my girls are old enough to be sorted to see who they take after. I'm a ravenclaw, DH is a hufflepuff it will be interesting to see if the girls take after us or if we end up representing 3 or all 4 houses eventually. I'll have to get a bumper sticker
@MrsVoorhees not great I'm hoping as time passes they will find some comfort. The services are tomorrow. I was pretty upset since he didn't call and tell me until last night that it was tomorrow. I was planning on flying out but he told me not to come because of how fragile his wife is ...I'm assuming because of my big belly? I can certainly understand that.
His wife will need serious help. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before but she lost her mom not too long ago as well. I keep seeing pictures and posts online and my heart just hurts so bad. I wish I could do something to help
Sorry again @seitzy3 such an unfortunate situation. Understandable that she's so fragile at the moment. That cannot be easy. I honestly cannot even imagine. it's hard being a by standard during times like this. Feeling there's nothing you can say or do. Just being there when she / they are ready is really important.
@rock1cherry I sent them a grieving bear, you know the ones that are the babies birth weight. But there's not much I can do from so far away. But I'll be here regardless if they ever reach out. I actually go home next week for two weeks so I am planning on inviting them to our beach house for a small little vacation, even if it's for a day. She has two other children from a previous relationship so I think it would be fun for the kids
Just now realized I drank WAY too much caffeine today. Normally I have one cup of coffee max. Since becoming pregnant I rarely rarely have one or multiple glasses of tea on top of the coffee, but for some reason today I was all about the tea!
1 cup of ice coffee in the morning and then 3 glasses of English Breakfast tea throughout the day and finally hot chocolate tonight before bed. Didn't even register until I climbed in bed to sleep and started having cramps. Recounted my drink options that day and hardly had ANY water so I downed a big glass... meaning I'll be having to pee a few times tonight. Yay. Did it to myself.
Also - Prune juice is surprisingly delicious. I'm drinking it for the iron but I find myself actually enjoying it. It's super thick so I can't drink it all at once like orange juice. I sip it, but it's not bad tasting so it actually ends up being a nice morning - mid afternoon drink. Much better than my molasses option. BLECK!
Ladies! Please make sure that you check on your copay balance each visit. I just got a bill for 8 visits at once. I ask EVERY time b4 I walk out the door do I owe anything and the answer is always no. Then today the billing rep said the people at the Dr's office don't know anything. What the deuce? I'm going to let my Dr and insurance company know and ask what can be done about it. Thank God I called bc 2 were on the way to collection and I NEVER GOT A BILL BEFORE THIS WEEK!
@seitzy3 that's such an awful situation. There's really nothing that can be done and leaves everyone with such a helpless feeling. I hope she will go to counseling. I've known a few people that have lost loved ones in tragic situations, and they found local grief groups for families that have had the same type of experiences. Maybe the hospital has info for groups like this?
@VeraMali oh, sorting!!! I forgot! So much fun to come! Im a Ravenclaw too! I'll have to have H sort, I don't think he's done it yet!

Amazon really needs to ste up if they are doing prime day again this year. Last year was so terrible. Hopefully it will be good for baby stuff.
