  • @erinmarie86 We haven't picked a name yet either but we do have a few options of the list. At this point, our little guy will not be named until after we meet him and see which one from the list fits best!
  • @erinmarie86 we don't have a middle name yet! And aren't even close. Not the same thing, but at least it's something? Haha

@erinmarie86 - We are having a major disagreement about names. DH and I both have a favourite and neither of us wants to budge. We decided to wait to make a final decision until we meet our baby. Our tradition waits to formally announce the name for at least 8 days so we will have some time after the baby's born anyway.

  • @erinmarie86 we haven't got a name picked out yet either. Our plan is to each come up with a list of about ten names and then swap the lists and cross out ones we don't like / discuss why etc. We plan to narrow it down to a few and then decide when we meet her. Seems crazy and I'm going a bit batty that DH hasn't even started his list. It does seem like an overwhelming thing : coming up with a name for someone. But I'm sure we will make the right choice when the time comes!

It's like period cramps almost just a little bit more intense and they come in spurts. Last night I thought it was gas but then it went away every other 2 minutes

That's what contractions felt like for me. BH to me feels like my entire uterus is tightening, and it's a consistent feeling until I rest/change position/drink water. And my ute is rock hard through it all.

  • @Redmar Sorry to hear you had a scary night; I'm glad the BH stopped. Hopefully you don't have to go through that again until it's the real deal (and only after baby is fully baked)!

My BH come and go throughout the day; I never go more than a few hours without at least one. But they're never repetitive to the point of concern, thank goodness.

  • @Thscary @AmMcc12 @MrsVoorhees same here. I don't get period cramps too, so feel uber clueless as to the difference between my belly stretching and BH.

Random: anyone download the Pokemon Go game?

@frogdog06 I didn't, but DH did. We were lying in bed last night, and his phone buzzed while he was playing on it. I asked him what he was was doing and he told (and showed) me he was catching a Pokémon. Haha.

Eta: Also, when he got home from work and I asked him how his day went, he told me it was good then grinned really big and informed me Pokémon Go came out. I believe, other than having a meeting, that was what he did at work all day.

@erinmarie86 we have a top 2 but definitely haven't chosen yet! And I'm not even convinced we'll choose before she is born -- it may be one of those things where we don't know for sure until we see her. Ah!

@Thscary @AmMcc12 Yup. No idea here. Guess not! Does everyone get them at some point?
  • Never got BH with my first and only had them one time with this one.

  • @SLou24 - That's awesome!! Glad you two are on the same page and no feelings were hurt in the process. Sounds like a really good plan for when the baby arrives!!

  • I am having weight gain concerns too. My OB didn't lecture, but noted that I had a bigger jump than they like to see at my appointment this week. Between that, a very unflattering pic my mom put on FB, and a crappy haircut, I'm at embarrassing levels of anxiety about my appearance. I stewed for hours in the middle of the night. The struggle is real!
  • My husband told me last night that his store had a Code Adam (missing child) at it yesterday. Luckily the little guy was found (just wandered away from mama). The mother was crying holding her 2.5 year old son when she found him, and he said that he was tearing up and had to walk away.  I gave him a hard time about it - then started tearing up thinking about how I'd feel and what a hot mess I would be in that situation.

Why am I so heartless towards my husband right now?  Every time he says something sweet I roll my eyes, or outwardly laugh at him. I'm a real peach to be around...

  • @AnnaS930 We took McKenna trick or treating at the zoo last year, and we saw a little boy that got lost get reunited with his mom. He was crying, she was crying, and I cried (and I wasn't even pregnant).

That said, I get irritated at my husband for literally nothing right now. Not always, but just out of the blue I feel like I don't much care for him. Obviously, I do care for him a lot, so I feel bad later for my feelings and actions. Hormones are a bitch.

  • Sold my first item on Craig's list!  Got about half of the original value, soo happy.  Now if people would just buy the patio set that is in my car space (very long spot and small car so not that bad).

@SLou24 Yay for an understanding mom!  I chickened out on talking about it with my mom when she was in town last week.  I thought I was ok with the parents staying a few night right away but nope I want them in a hotel (they can afford it easily).  At least on her own she said she wanted to come for the birth then stay a few days and when H goes back to work come back for a week.  I think when she comes back I'll be cool about her staying with us, I think....

Re BH I think I'm in the club of I don't think I've had them.

Re Names We have one picked but could change it very easily at any time, not sure what that says about it.
  • RG1RG1 member
Regarding names.... We are 90% on the name Jensen for our boy. there's nothing else filling the 10%, and the 90% gets a little higher each week. It's probably what we will go with since we don't have any other names we both like!

  • @AnnaS930 Yep! I've been keeping up with your posts because I noticed we were gaining about the same rate. I tell myself all the time that my body just wants to gain more, but then I do pretty much eat what I want to. I really thought I was eating better this time around, but I guess this body has a mind of it's own. If I have to hear about how my MIL only gained 17 lbs with DH's sister one more time I'm going to throw up. "Because the doctor didn't want me to gain more than 20". REALLY?? Well that doctor would be sh*t outta luck with me. I would've been lectured by every doctor back in the day.

  • No Braxton hicks for me either to date but lots of baby movements which are now often quite visible at times which is nice to be able to share with my fiancé.

@SLou24 I am really happy that the discussion with your mom went well about post partum visiting. I had a similar conversation with my parents and felt like I'd lost a significant weight afterwards.

To all the discussions and comments about weight gain and pregnancy in general, I really like the September group of women. It's really appreciated how straightforward and honest and supportive everyone has been, I know it's made my pregnancy easier at times knowing that I'm not alone.
  • @camichael84 I lurk on the other boards to check out the birth announcements too. Haha. Though, I'm more excited than worried at this point. But that could change at any time.

Sorry to hear about your SIL. That doesn't sound good. Hopefully everything will work out in the end and things will even themselves out with their relationship. Sounds tough. I don't think anyone should be "forced" into something like that either. There are other methods if they don't want to have surgery. Kinda not fair of him to tell her that when he's not willing to do it himself. :s
  • It only took me a week to catch up!! Still in Memphis and SIL's wedding is tomorrow. This week has been insane with the wedding stress and I actually ended up at triage yesterday. Since I was about 16 or so, I've had a weird heart thing where it randomly and for no reason my heart will speed up and it will feel like I'm exercising super intensely. I have a hard time breathing and sometimes get lightheaded. It usually happens once every 3-6 months but yesterday it happened 3 times in an hour so husband took me to the hospital to get checked out. They did an ekg and monitored Elliot and found nothing. They gave me a bag and change of fluids and was allowed to go home after about 4 hours. I have to call my ob and pcp and get a referral to a cardiologist and I'll probably have to wear a heart monitor for a week or so.

on a different note, we picked a name and have officially shared it with the families and facebook. It's finally hitting me that by the time I get home, I'll have less than 9 weeks until he's here!
  • I just put a call into the nurse since these painful BH aren't letting up. I was fine once I laid down last night and had a pretty good sleep. Once I woke up and started to move again they came back. I honestly can not tell for the life of me if it's just baby moving or what. When it happens she seems to stop then when the tightness stops she moves again. Body, stop being confusing!

I usually start my NSTs at 32 weeks (which I am now) but midwife and I decided I would start at 35 this time since my thyroid has been pretty good this time around and I will be out of town from 33-35 weeks. I am not worried just confused and I think I'll feel better if they figure out what it is.

  • @Sbrown721 my yoga teacher would love you! She is constantly telling us to do just that. She calls us warrior mamas :) and she encourages us to put that music, or whatever music you find comforting, on in the delivery room. My second birth was much more fulfilling because I got into that "meditative" state.

  • @seitzy3 nope. I've only been on thyroid meds for about 4 years but dealing with this for 15. I've been told that unless it's happening while I'm hooked up to the ekg machine, they can't see anything. I'm pretty sure yesterday's event was mostly due to mild dehydration.

Haha! It was actually the "Yoga" Pandora station. I hear "warrior mamas" a lot in my yoga classes too. Love it! I'm trying to get baby and I used to the music and usually I have to kinda force myself to put the music on and relax, but last night I just kinda dove straight into it! Maybe it's working  :p
