I think it's done! Other than maybe adding some sort of naming system to their cribs, so they each have "their own". And SO may make a pallet decoration to go over the diaper organizer that says "Oh baby, baby, it's a wild world." But neither of those are important enough for me to say that this isn't finished!
@MRSCORKER... I think it depends on you and your family/friends. My bestie is kind of minimalist when it comes to stuff like that. So she doesn't have a ton of stuff just to have it. So, for her, that would be plenty, I think. They use their closet but there isn't a ton her in son's closet. If your family is anything like mine, that won't be enough. We already have enough to fill at least a few drawers and haven't had the shower yet. My people are crazy (in a good way )
You can always play it by ear and clean out the closet only if it's a must.
@ibabyloveb87 This room and closet are tiny (which I didn't really realize until we started moving stuff in), so I'm trying to add storage wherever possible! He also has a dresser, so I'm guessing this will mostly be toys, etc.
@sjo_thetwins... AHHH I love your nursery! It looks great! I think the pallet decoration is a must! Not that you asked my opinion, but it sounds like it would look so good in there!
@bnsmith85 thank you!! We got the monitors hung up on the walls now, so really we have bare necessities if they try to come early and we are unprepared. The pallet is a must for SO too.
That's perfect @sjo_thetwins... carrying a low risk singleton, I'm obviously at a much lower risk of having my LO arrive early, but I'm wanting to get the same thing done... at least the bare necessities juuuust in case. Looks good girl!
I'm curious what others are doing for baby to sleep. I have a crib and his isn't far from me, I can see the crib from my bed in fact. But I co slept with my girls cause they wouldn't sleep any other way. I'm hoping this baby will sleep in their own bed cause I'm going to need some time to get stuff done. I found this basinette, but yikes it's pricey and I haven't found any used ones yet. Anyone had one?
@Schell2013 I'm too anxious to co-sleep. I worry I'll smother the baby with my body or blankets but I'm also to anxious to go straight to the crip in the other room. I registered for the Halo Bassinet which looks like the one you posted. It's just as pricey but I think it will be worth it for my peace of mind. If no one gets it for us, I'll gladly pay $200. I may be a naive FTM, but it seems like a good compromise between co-sleeping and putting them across the room.

@Schell2013... I'm STRONGLY considering just putting Ella in the crib from night 1. I asked my doctor about it b/c she's a mom too and sees lots of moms day in and day out... she said she highly recommends it if we can swing it because you don't have to worry about transition later. We've registered for a RNP as well so if reflux is an issue and she ends up needing her head elevated, that'll change... but the plan for me is, crib first.
ETA: I also NEEDED to snuggle with the tiny little puppy I rescued a few years back because he was just so damn cute. Sooooo... we'll see how clingy I actually am when I'm crazy hormonal with a super cute baby. This whole crib plan could go right out the window.

I said the same thing as you wish my first I had planned on putting them straight into their own bed. But I had unplanned c sections with both and getting in and out of bed was painful so that's how the habit started. I'm hoping to not cave this time though. It looks like a neat set up. I don't think I would actually have to get out of bed to get the baby with this set up!

Oh hey also guys, if you're interested in a cheap/fun DIY- SO also made their measuring sticks that I can't wait to see have penciled in dates and heights for each of them. Just two pieces of wood from lowes, some acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby, stencils, and paint we had lying around (the background color).
@LMNOBaby thanks!! It's been our constant project . It's by far my favorite room of the house now, and I love sitting in there watching tv in the rocker!
@MRSCORKER the closet situation depends on you. We just have an 8-drawer Hemnes, which is enough for all the clothes DS currently fits as well as the next size. I also have all his swaddle blankets, receiving blankets, burp cloths, socks and shoes, diaper changing supplies, and extra packs of diapers and wipes in there. I keep two bins in his closet: one for clothes he has outgrown, and one for clothes too big. Other than that his closet is just storage space for other stuff.
Edit to add: DS is now almost 16 months, so this system has worked for over a year for us.
This is a portion of DD's shoe collection. Normal, right? Haha. Moms of girls, beware. Between Instagram shops and consignment sales, you can vastly increase your daughter's closet in no time.
@nlane0723 that is what my dd's collection looks like too! It's one of the reasons I'm excited to have another girl (and in roughly the same season as my first).
Those growth charts are awesome @sjo_thetwins ...I ordered one on Etsy bc I'm too lazy to make anything, and I'm trying to reserve judgment on it until it's all put together but anyway, love your nursery!
@Schell2013 Look at Mom2Mom sales or resale sites. I saw that exact one at the M2M sale I went to priced at $100. I didn't want to pay that much, so I passed, but it ended up selling for $75. I got a little rocker style bassinet while I was there that I plan to bump up against my bed like that picture shows. I paid like $20 for it.
@MRSCORKER I'm in the same boat as you and was just planning on using a dresser. We're just going to have to make it work in his room because we have such limited space. I guess I could always try to get an armoir type thing too.

I think it's doable, especially if you pack away things that no longer fit or don't fit yet and maximize your space. I'll probably get organizer baskets for the drawers too, hopefully that will help. I'm also sort of hoping I won't go crazy buying things if I know I have limited space.

@MRSCORKER I would consider putting Lilah in her crib from night one if her room weren't on the second floor. We have registered for a bassinet to have beside the bed while we transition into the crib. Ideally, I would love for her to be in her own room by the time I go back to work (8 weeks) but that may be unrealistic.

This is our goal as well. Bassient at first, slowly transition to the crib for naps first and then at night and hopefully be in the crib full time by the time I go back to work at 12 weeks. That being said, we'll do whatever we have to do sleep so we'll see what the little guy prefers.

@Schell2013 FTM so I could be completely naïve in thinking I can start them off in the crib immediately, but that's the goal. Our room is right across the hallway and doesn't have any spare room for a bassinet. We do have a guest bedroom that baby and I could sleep in if I needed to be that close to the baby (ie. I end up having a c-section), but I'm hoping to be able to sleep in my own bed.
Waiting for wall decals to arrive, but pretty much everything is ready. We are bringing up our lazy boy from the basement closer to the time the corner the carseat is in right now. Im feeling pretty excited! Sorry the lighting isn't the best, it's a really dark rainy day today! Thank god though cause it's been way too hot lately.
Yay furniture! Cannot wait for the mattress to come on Tuesday, and for my mom to finish hemming the curtains. Then all we have left is to find some decorations for the walls, and have a baby to put in there!
My dad came over a built some shelves for the closet and hung the poster. And they brought the rocking chair, which is a gift from my grandma. Just waiting for the mobile and the changing table and then we'll be done till after the shower.
I'm pretty sure my dog thinks the nursery is his room. Ever since we moved the full bed out of there he's like "ooh look at all this space for me to lay and play with my toys!" Reality will hit him swiftly.
@LGW2015...lol... Our dogs totally want to be doing the same. Since we have a potential issue with one of them though, we decided neither are allowed in. It's great when we're setting things up bc it's like they know there's an imaginary line at the doorway they can't cross so they both lay at the doorway watching all we do. Kind of cute
Started cleaning out the closet in the girls room to make room for C's stuff to hang.. we're gping to have to get rid of the changing table and armoire and go to a regular dresser for both of their stuff.. but I also need to figure out what to do with all the stuff currently on the changing table hutch! Blahhh.
