I had my 35 week appointment today. I forgot it was the strep B screening and also didn't realize it was time for the first cervical check. The check was somewhat uncomfortable due to the position of the baby and where my cervix was, and it caused some spotting. Nothing red... I hope baby stays in for the next 4-5 weeks. After my appointment I had my last u/s. Baby is measuring 6lbs 1oz(13oz margin of error). I might be in for a big baby!
AliKay20 I feel like we're foot twins. I'm 31 weeks now and the same. Also wearing flip flops to work. I've been using a lot of ice packs and cold spray just for some relief from the pain/discomfort. Is it hot where you live? I think the heat is having a major effect on mine.
Good luck @Bookhousegirl also hoping you get to go home tomorrow!

10/2017: Twins confirmed with TTTS at 22 weeks. 10/10/17 Twin B passed after in utero placenta surgery 11/2/17 Twin A & B born 11/26/17: Twin A passed after 24 days fighting in the NICU Benched 6 months BFP: 6/28/18 MC:7/16/18 BO BFP: 10/2/18 EDD 6/15/18
DD has her first ever ear infection and it's the saddest thing ever. I know I'm in for a long night tonight. She just keeps looking at me and crying. I honestly don't know what to do. Thankfully I have Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on demand. That is the only thing keeping her relatively calm.
and thanks everyone I had a lengthy birth announcement posted but it somehow got cut off so I did edit my announcement again.
We are all doing well. Babies are breathing on their own which is awesome for 31 weekers abs hopefully we get to hold them today. I'm sore from the c section but other than that good. I got colostrum out through the day yesterday so that's even better! Still no names yet, as we are waiting to see their faces and hold them!
@tmk0325 so excited for you and glad the babies are doing well!

@tmk0325 So happy everyone is doing well! They are adorable! @bookhousegirl We're thinking of you!
And some strange news from me, turns out - at least some of the pain everyone attributed to gallstones was my kidneys and liver shutting down due to an infection. (After I finally got the MFM to call back, we got some answers!) On an antibiotic now, and I've lost 10lbs of water weight already. I'm starting to feel less like the stay-puff marshmallow guy! And the contractions have slowed waaaaaay down, and the intensity dropped almost back to what is normal braxton hicks!
The doctors think they'll be able to push off the gallstone surgery once some of the pain is relieved by treating the infection which is GREAT news. I'm hoping I can do it when my mat leave benefits run out, and squeak in a couple extra weeks of STD paid...
This little guy is trying to kill me I swear... he *really* wants to be an only child!
And more great news - my husband got a joooooooob!!!! The schedule - sucks. 4pm to 1am, working in manufacturing. Blech. But - the hiring manager even said "we recognize you are overqualified, and I know I'd be looking to move you up within 6 months." - So hopefully the crappy hours would be short term, and in the meantime we can make that work so little guy doesn't have to go to daycare - and the money is better than what he was making before he lost his other job. He will actually *almost* out earn me! And it is 8 minutes from home, so that is a benefit. And he cleared taking a week off (unpaid) for the birth during the interview, as a condition of hire.
We're thinking about doing a quick babymoon before he starts, over the fourth of July weekend, since we missed out on the one we had planned trying to save money while he wasn't working...
@Allisun85 sounds like good news on all fronts! Glad it's looking like the surgery can wait a bit. And congrats to your husband!!
Thanks to everyone! I'm still at the hospital, being monitored. I haven't dialated any more, but my contractions were really consistent this morning so they put me on something to stop them and I'm on IV fluids. The plan is to go home tonight after I get my second steroid shot. It's looking like this guy is staying put for at least a little longer, which is a huge relief. My doctor just really wants to get me to 36 weeks, but we're hoping this is just a glitch and I'll still make it full term.
The only bad news is we have to cancel our vacation next week. I'm a little bummed since it was going to be our last trip just the three of us, but I told DH that he still has to take week off from work so that we can get some quality time together, even if it's just at home. The good thing is we can move a week earlier now, so at least that will be done sooner, in case LO comes early!
Well today we become a one car family. We got DHs truck from a buy here pay here so that he could use it as a work truck. Since then it's been nothing but issues and is extremely close to breaking down. It's an old truck so we decided to just give it back to the lot instead of continuing to make the payments and paying to fix it. It's not worth it. I really enjoy the freedom of us having 2 vehicles but I know many families make it work with 1 do we are just biting the bullet and doing it. At least I'm a SAHM so we don't have to figure out work schedules ect.
@Allisun85 Normally kidneys and liver failing wouldn't deserve a love tut but in this case... Yay! Glad to hear they maybe able to put off surgery and keep your LO in there longer. Also, congrats on your hubby's new job... I bet that's a huge relief as well. Y'all definitely deserve to celebrate.
@bookhousegirl You mean being in the hospital isn't like a vacation? I may need to reset my expectations. Sorry you're going to miss your last trip as a family of three but I'm glad you and the baby are hanging in there!
@Bookhousegirl aww, so good to hear your update! Hope he enjoys his current house a little longer I know it stinks to miss out on vacays but that just means you guys can make the best out of a staycation!
@Mfuller76 if someone had told me "you can take a day to lay in bed, watch tv and read, and we'll bring you all your meals" I would have thought it sounded like a dream day, but man, this is boring!! Luckily, when you're actually laboring, it's a bit more exciting
@Bookhousegirl I'm glad that little guy is staying put! I'm sorry you had to cancel your vacation but hey, you won't be spending that time in the hospital. That's a plus.
Wondering how the rest of the group feels about starting a "Trips to L & D" thread? (Or similar title.) I don't mind these updates being mixed in with the Randoms - but I think they are definitely worthy of their own thread!!
@Nikkoli98 I think thats a pretty good idea. But then again I love organization. Might help some of us FTM who have questions if we have a centralized place to go, especially with more L&D trips popping up now.
DH is irritating me so much that I could cry. I bought a beautiful dresser for the baby's room, months ago and asked him to restain it. He STILL hasnt done it even though I ask him about it practically every day and have enforced a "done by" date. He went over to FIL house today (ALL DAY) to work on it. They didnt even touch it today. I know, because I went and dug through my FIL's workhouse to check on it. They havent even sanded it yet. Im so freaking pissed. I have been so stressed out lately and he has asked me multiple times what he can do to help me. My answer is always "finish the dresser". So frustrated. I think what Im going to do is go over there tomorrow and ask them to give me a tutorial on the sander. They will throw a fit about me not doing it, especially with the heat. I will then be able to rant about how I can't rely on them to get it done on time, so it leaves me the option of doing it myself.
@Allisun85 Holy shit, that's pretty scary that your organs were literally shutting down and it took this long for the doctors to notice! Super glad you got your wish and don't have to do the surgery though! And congrats to the hubby!
@Car0liiine I will late night party with you tonight!! The 70# baby of a dog thought he heard thunder and woke me up. Now he's at the foot of the bed snoring and I'm wide awake! WTF?!
@lynnlove28 adulting sucks sometimes - I'm sorry you have to make some though choices, but it sounds like what is best for your family. Boooo @car0liiine apparently it falls into the category of "weird shit in pregnancy that isn't totally unheard of" - This kid is already campaigning to be an only child.... @bookhousegirl, sorry you have to have a mellower staycation. But- yay for family time however it comes!
We decided to go for it and book a hotel for the fourth of July. We're going to see Bob Dylan at Tanglewood (about 2 1/2 hours for us) so we booked a pet friendly (so we can just bring dog) hotel with a pool until the fourth. Yay for a little bit of just us time away before baby!
The intense hunger is growing by the minute. I slept at 2, went to the bathroom 4 times, and woke up just now to the feel of my baby's kicks. A second later, I felt this intense wave of hunger - the kind where you feel like someone is squeezing your stomach and demanding you to stuff it with pancakes, hamburgers, pizzas, and mac and cheese.
At this rate, I'm going to gain another 5 pounds easily before baby comes. I thought hunger/cravings went away third trimester. Am I just the odd one out?! This came out of nowhere at 35 wks and I turn into a monster yet again. Poor DH...
@Alikay20 Nope not just you. Except - then I eat, and its amazing, and I get a third of the way in and my stomach says "Yup, too squished to take in anymore. Try again in an hour" And I am still hungry!!!! Also. Now I want pancakes...
**Possible TMI for some** So last night I was loading the dishwasher and DH came up behind me and squeezed my boobs (which felt really hard but may have been normal pressure). I screeched, of course they are sensitive so it hurt. He asks, "why is my hand wet?" He milked my boobs! He squeezed them so hard they shot out milk. He apologized after we finally stopped laughing, 20 minutes later. We were both in shock that it happened. Now he keeps joking if I don't stop being hormonal he will milk me. Ha, this is the kind of thing you can't tell someone IRL.
I did tell him not to do again because of the possibility of it inducing contractions.
@lgem4 SO FUNNY!! Ive been leaking a little and actually had some blood the other day. Dr said to keep an eye out and avoid any nipple stimulation. So, now DH will come up and poke me in the side of the boob. Which really annoys me lately, but at least he isnt trying to rub my nipples.
Aww man, that's hilarious. DH aways messes with my boobs and they are rather tender. I keep reminding him that if he does that after my milk comes in I WILL be squirting him with the milk. I think he's forgotten how far those suckers can shoot.
DH and I were folding laundry and he thought it would be funny to try on my maternity underwear--yes I got full panel/full support undies and love them! But once he had them on I started laughing so hard that I peed! This has not happened before so that was a new pregnancy development.
Baby shower was this weekend and holy smokes I've never been so exhausted. Every night I get in to bed more sore and more tired than the night before, I've never been so exhausted in my life
@Bookhousegirl How are you doing? If you posted an update somewhere, I missed it. :-/
Anyone have suggestions on painful stretch marks? I have been slathering cocoa butter on like crazy, but my stomach still itches so badly. My stretch marks have gotten really irritated and inflammed.
Allisun85 Durian is the smelliest, most horrible fruit in the world. They love the stuff here in Asia, it's disgusting. There's durian flavoured everything. But the fruit smells so bad it's banned from public transport, taxis, hotels etc.

@tmk0325 glad to hear they are doing so well! Hope you can hold them soon!
@tmk0325 I am so happy to hear that the boys are breathing on their own. That is wonderful news. FX that you are able the hold them today.

Gah. Rant over.
Sorry. Just needed to let that out . . . Back to listening to DH snore. *sigh*

@lgem4 that is so funny! I've been feeling my milk let down for the past 2 days... I'm afraid to touch my boobs at all out of fear this will happen!
