For those of you who have had your membranes stripped, either this time or with previous pregnancies, did you have to specifically request it? Or did your doctors offer? Have you asked and been denied? It hasn't come up at all in conversation with any of my doctors and I'm 39 weeks, even when I asked about their induction policy. I've seen some ladies reporting having it happen at 38 weeks.

Last pregnancy, after being dialated 2-3cm all of August, my doctor asked if I wanted it done at my 39+5 appt. I said sure. Did the trick, she was born 2 days later. It had not been offered before that point though.
@LadyFleck My doc brought it up, she's planning to do it this week on my due date if I'm dilated enough. It's not a major thing so I bet you could request it when they check your cervix unless they have something against it.

@LadyFleck My doctor would have done it at the 38w appointment if I was dilated at all (because my fella has been measuring ahead on his growth scans). But alas I'm not so she couldn't.
@LadyFleck My doctor just did it at my 39 week appointment. He was doing a cervical check and mentioned that if he thought I was progressed enough, he would give it a shot.

Congrats @onesassybishh, @austinjl, and @kaylaa22! Those are beautiful babies!!!! @LadyFleck my doctor hasn't mentioned it either and I was 1 1/2 cm dilated Thursday. She did some stretching in there to "stir things up" but that's all.
Spent the whole afternoon in the pool and it was GLORIOUS!!! But the whole sensation of getting out of the pool and feeling 100x heavier is very strange and makes me want to stay in the pool until this baby is born. Any day now kid.

@lcking82 - Emergency medicine. I loved the program I trained at but it's a big safety net hospital/trauma center so it was definitely a rough four years. SO excited to be done...I feel like I should go sleep for like a month straight. Too bad pregnancy doesn't allow for that MH's mom is a pathologist and still loves it!
@rakel88 - CONGRATS!! I was wondering how you were doing since last I heard you thought your water had broken. I hope the pain subsides a bit and you're able to get some rest soon.
@rakel88 congrats!!! And I love the name Ari, it's one of my favorite names! It probably would have been our top choice if I hadn't already named my dog Ari!
Congrats @rakel88, I think we've all been waiting for your story to pop up! And all the other ladies with these gorgeous new babies. BABIES. THEY ARE COMING.
