Not sure if this is a win or lose, but we recently got an email at work that the cafeteria had been accidentally charging everyone 2% extra in tax over a 3 month period, so today they had a customer appreciation event with free food and an ice cream bar. I don't know if it makes up for all that extra money we were charged but I'll take it
OMG I have my glucose test tomorrow and now all I can think about is @AnnaS930's cake! I am trying not to have any sugar today even though I know it will have processed out by tomorrow morning....but it is a mental thing. Of course because I am restricting sugar intake today for the first time ever since becoming pregnant I am PHEENING for it. Like, I feel like I have probably lost weight already just from my 1 day diet. Bahahaha....*tears*. Man there is something wrong with me...

Ya'll my give a da*n is thoroughly busted! I have about 10 fires raging on my desk right now and my desire to complete any of them let alone do the extreme multitasking that's needed to get them done in time is at nil-ch. My brain is on vacation, we are this close to Friday, and it's sunny out. Currently it's TB for the win as the clock has also stopped moving, ensuring the procrastination has gone full force.
@MeganS324 You weren't near the big crash on 490 yesterday were you? I heard people were stuck behind that for hours! Glad you and Fi are ok!
@blondie080300 - totally understand skipping straight up sugar the day before.. try to have some complex carbs though so your system isn't too shocked by the glucola.. then again, I've failed my 1 hour both times, so what do I know??
@Megan324 - Right? I chugged my water and just HAD to refill it right at the time of the party, so I slowly walked by making eye contact with the people in/around the room. SO obvious! hahaha
@LakeR2014 I was on 104 W where all that Ridgeway traffic is because of the construction! Yeah 490 is obnoxious even without accidents I couldn't imagine being on there for hours
WTF hapened to life today?!?! Spent my morning arguing with a coworker becuase they can't understand what they were doing wrong. Came home on lunch to an AC that is not working. currently it is 84 degrees in my house, the bedrooms are closer to 90 degrees and I am sweating in my underwear waiting for the AC man to call. appointment time is 3-5. Trying to figure out what I want for dinner becuase there is NOOO way I am cooking.
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
GD win: I had ice cream as my bedtime snack! I already love that I get a bedtime snack and the dietitian was adamant about me not skipping it but my numbers were awesome an hour later (98! I was paranoid so I tested even though I didn't have to). Sure, I measured it and had 1/2 cup but it was glorious
@kosmo86 If there's a better excuse for going to a restaurant with glorious air conditioning for dinner I've never heard of it. Sorry to hear about your AC hope the guy comes quick and it's an easy fix!
My GD test will be at 2:15, so I'm not supposed to eat past 11. What do you guys recommend I eat for lunch that day? I'm paranoid about screwing it up by eating the wrong thing. Does my breakfast matter?
Ever since last week I've been ravenous. I can NOT get full. I graze a lot instead of eating large meals (because large meals bring on the heartburn), and it feels constant. And all I want is carbs. Pizza, PB&J sandwiches, and anything involving pickle relish specifically.
I ate lunch 40 minutes ago and JUST finished an apple and I'm already craving pizza. All I can think about is freaking pizza and it's not even 3pm. I'm about to pregnant-lady cry all over my desk.
FFTC: I missed my kiddos soooooo much, but even though I got home early yesterday morning, I left them in daycare so I could start laundry and take a nap.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom - i was wondering when we were going to start a birth announcement thread? I mean, i'm really hopeful no one will have a really early arrival, but I think it'd be great to have it set up soon, just in case.
@PoodleDoodleOoo I also thought of that when I wrote my random... We've had some very sad, heartbreaking losses but I was a bit glad that there hadn't been a need for the birth announcement thread. I think we could start one now or in the next week!
@MrsVoorhees There isn't really anything you can eat to "mess up" the test, from what I understand. I had majority protein before mine, though, and tried to limit carbs. To be fair, mine was at 9:15 and didn't require fasting, so it was easier, but still. I'd recommend getting a burger or chicken sandwich, but skipping the bun.
@Bibliobebe I am the same way with food right now. My weight gain has been steady, and OB said I was right on track, so I'm being a bit generous with myself right now, but I do feel a bit like a lazy pig for wanting to do nothing but lay on the couch, eat carby junk food, and watch TV while DH is at work! (For the record, I'm staying busy with house/yardwork, so I'm not being that lazy right now, but I also take frequent lounge breaks!)
Yeah it might be a good idea to start the birth announcement thread, just because it looks like it takes a while to get it pinned since you usually have to scroll through a whole page of "please pin this"
Along those lines, this will be the first time in a long time that I'll be in Canada for July 1st and back in the US be the 4th. Usually, I'm not travelling now, or my family does it backwards and misses both! I'm excited for double the fireworks
We have so little time left ladies! I'm looking at my calendar and I start my birthing classes on Tuesday. When those are done it will be August and we will be nearing the finish line!!
Thanks, @AnnaS930! I had a veggie burger (no bun) and grilled asparagus for dinner. I plan on having a fried egg about an hour before I need to drink the glucose drink tomorrow morning. My appointment is at 8:45am.
Welcome back @fireflygirl12! Isn't being done with traveling for work the BEST feeling?!! I was you a week ago. I feel so much better knowing I can just go to the office every day and then come home afterwards and live my life. Congrats!

The flooring installers just finished putting in our new carpet today. Yesterday and the day before were faux hardwood flooring days. It's been incredibly loud and DH and I had to completely empty out several rooms in our house (and I'm a collector of things, so I have a lot of stuff to box up). I've been sore, exhausted and crampy.
Now we get to clean out more stuff for the painters coming on Monday. That'll be another few days of constant work.
Still no sign of our missing cat.
Saw my OB today and Baby B is transverse (he's been head down for weeks) so now we're having to consider a c-section if he doesn't flip back in the next few weeks (less room to move with another baby in there). They said we could discuss a vaginal delivery as long as Baby A stays head down, but the OB we saw today (my least favorite of the three I see in rotation) didn't sound too amendable to the idea.
They also lost my glucose test results (I've already been told I passed by one of the other docs but the results aren't in my file) and now I'm freaking out about them making me redo it.
Got put on a Z-pack for the severe sore throat I've had for 12 days after getting my Tdap vaccine, so that's fun. Hopefully it'll help because I'm miserable.
Finally got a new inhaler for my asthma (been asking since 12 weeks since mine was expired by two years), but also got put on a steroid inhaler since my OB is concerned (all of a sudden, took him long enough) about my breathing getting even worse without warning.
On the plus side, the new floors look great and the carpet/padding is super soft and cushy (although we're going to need a new vacuum that can handle the high pile) and we pre-registered at the hospital's L&D ward today.
@MojieJ Hooray for new floors! So sorry about the rest though. I am still holding out that your kitty will return though! I have heard of stories where animals return after a few days of an unknown adventure. I never thought to ask before but did you call the company that was hauling stuff out of your house before?

I totally raged on someone today at the dollar store after work. I didn't mean to, but I was fed up with people and it was my last straw. I was waiting in line to pay, there's a huge line, but I'm next. Another register opens and says I can help the next person so I turn to go over there as the people in front of me have a ton of stuff and are arguing with each other. The woman behind me rushes over to get there first. I totally put my stuff down in front of her and said I think I'm next. lol I normally wouldn't get so uptight over it, but I barely ate anything all day, I left work late and just wanted to get home so I could eat dinner. I guess you could say I was a little hangry...Oops.
@blondie080300 We did call them and sent pictures (not very good ones since he has a habit of sticking his nose on the camera lens when you try to take his picture, but the best we had). They said they'd call if they saw him, but nothing yet.
@megan324 I'm beat living it, that's for sure! I swear, everything in my life is going all topsy-turvy lately and there's more to do still (put everything back where it was, do pretty much everything in the nursery, wash all the babies' clothes, pack my hospital bag, write thank you notes to the people who gave us gifts at our baby shower...)! I can't remember the last time I had so much on my plate, and right when I'm supposed to be resting and relaxing.
But I'm very happy with the new floors! Our old ones (linoleum and carpet) were in terrible shape from heavy wear over the 20 years since our house was built. The carpet was stained and worn and clawed by one of our cats and the tile was cracked and coming up in chunks all over our kitchen/dining room. Now it looks beautiful.
It's going to look even better once the painters are done (the paint in 99% of the house is in similarly bad shape since we never painted over the primer the builders used on the walls when the house was built). We're going with a nice ivory through the house and then a dark violet accent wall in the nursery and a new coat of dark cranberry paint in the master bathroom to cover the mediocre paint job my dad did in there several years ago.
Mid-next week, we should be done with all of the redecorating and can start on the nursery and moving everything back into place.
Had my 30w appt today and my OB wanted to do a cervical check b/c I've been having lots of BH and cramping the past few days. My cervix is closed on the inside, but she can fit one finger on the outside, and she said it's pretty short. Unknown at this point if that's normal from having 2 kids, or if I'm starting to show progression from the contractions, but at least now we have a baseline if BH continue. Why is pregnancy so stressful?!
I'm hiding in my room right now. I was making a dessert for my husbands work tomorrow and he went back into the living room to be on his phone. He could tell I was crabby so I said "I'm doing you a favor, you could keep me company and get off your damn phone. I'm annoying myself how much I say it but it never stops. Get off your phone, please" to which he told me "I don't care what you say tonight it's the NBA draft and I'm texting my dad. You can tell me to get off of it even other night " .... in the words of Stephanie tanner... how rude!!
I put back the snack I had just taken out without eating and came up to bed saying that was mean and I'd see him in the morning. Never tell someone you don't care what they say. We have a great marriage that I truly believe will be forever but if something were to drive us apart it would be his constant phone use.
Trying to put LO to bed. But despite having a full day and even spending 1.5 hours at the pool, which I thought would wear him out for sure, he is still awake. But his latest thing is when he is just about to fall asleep, he sits up and puts his pillow and all of his blankets on my lap and then he climbs in like it's a nest in order to actually fall asleep. It sort of drives me crazy and it sort of makes me feel wonderful and loved. Someday he won't want to fall asleep in my lap-nest.
Headed for a kid free weekend at the shore tomorrow. Cannot wait. Reese has been such a beast the last few days, I need a break. (I swear I love my child. Three is just really hard.)
Just need to vent This week sucks and needs to be over, right on through Monday because now I have to go in for the 3 hour glucose test. Within the last week my dog was sick for three nights, so I got to clean up dog puke all night for 3 nights in between taking him out and trying to make him comfy while worrying, then the dog got better and DH decided to "vent" (aka yell and curse and stomp around) until 1 a.m. about the ongoing saga with my grandmother's offer of her house (which is a big fat mess, the whole scene), and then last night DH came home after a double shift and was so exhausted that he slept too soundly and freaking peed in his sleep- totally soaked the bed so I was up at 2 am trying to find enough sheets to just go back to sleep (because DH insists we only need one freaking set of sheets, stupid ass), then I spent the rest of the morning worrying about him. And then today I spent the day cleaning up after that mess, hit the laundromat with our comforter, DMV to turn in plates for my mom, and found out I failed the 1 hour glucose test PLUS I have an elevated white blood cell count (enough that they're concerned because it's "at the highest point of the normal range") and my iron is really low despite my prenatal being loaded with it. Oh, and my co-worker who I adore found out last week that her job was posted online with no warning, so when my boss gets back from vacation on Tuesday, who knows what will happen. And we're stressing money because I still haven't gotten a freaking raise. I just want to curl up in bed and cry and avoid the world for a few days. And sleep.
Thanks @blondie080300 - it's been super stressful and put such a strain on us. I love that DH is so focused on making sure we are secure. Sometimes it just feels like we can't catch a break.
@SarahDarah333 YUCK! That is a lot to deal with WITHOUT crazy pregnancy hormones. I'm sure hoping things quiet down for you quickly and everyone falls into a happy space.
FX baby b turns for you @mojiejo. I have a friend who delivered vaginally with a transverse baby b, b/c she flipped as soon as baby a went. I think there was some risk of potentially having to deliver one vaginally and one c-section, which would totally suck.
Have fun on your kid free weekend @psubecky23! Sometimes it's nice to have adult time away to recharge.
That little lap nest sounds pretty adorable @sporty1216! DS2 asked me to rock him MOTN and I was definitely thinking about how I don't have many of those nights left with him. Trying to cherish the moments, even though they're exhausting.

I feel like I'll have my oh sh*t moment when the August BMB is flooded with birth announcements. I can't wait to see ours!

Also, not sure why this gif has Bennedict Cumberbatch since he isn't American but it's too perfect to not use.
