  • Yes! My nipples have gotten a lot darker this past week as well

@kwilliams3402 I'm also swelling pretty intensely down there, way more than with DS. I'm not swelling anywhere else really, so I'm attributing it to LO being so low in my uterus (confirmed with an ultrasound yesterday). I didn't ask my OB about it, but she had to do an internal exam yesterday to check my cervix and didn't mention any concerns, so I don't think it's anything to be super worried about. I'm trying to hydrate and I'm on pelvic rest anyway (no sex and no exercise) because of contractions. I have nothing to add to help, but I feel your pain!

I saw the OB today and she checked and said it was just normal swelling/varicose veins, and although no cause for concern, painful! She recommended a v-support belt, so I just ordered one from amazon.  I'm on self-imposed no-sex pelvic rest because its so dang painful from the swelling already there.  From low in your uterus, do you mean like all teed up to go?  FTM here. :)

  • @Bookhousegirl @LWC1112  I've hated my boobs since I was a teenager because I feel like they came in already looking like I'd breastfed a village - large areolas, very soft, kinda droopy. I always say I have National Geographic boobs and hubby gets mad at me. So now my nips are way darker and the areolas are bigger and I just noticed this week that my actual nipples are much bigger around! :#  Do not like. A month or so ago I was shopping for the flanges for my breast pump and freaked out and called my SIL (my go to new mom) because the smallest size still seemed huuuge. Now I'm wondering if I should go get some mediums . . .

@kwilliams3402  My hoohoo had been swollen for months. Not painful really, but more sensitive and I have to kinda wiggle around to get in there between my lips to wipe when I pee lol. I think it's just increased bloodflow/pressure. But if the swelling came on really quickly, like over the course of a day or two and/or is really painful, I'd definitely mention it to your doctor.

  • @Car0liiine - Everything checked out okay, thank goodness! I ordered a v-support belt so perhaps that will help.  Glad to know I'm not the only one!!
  • @kwilliams3402 yeah, just meaning his head is right up against my cervix. It doesn't have any bearing on how soon he'll come, just the position he's chosen. It did help with my heartburn and breathing for about a week, but now, I think he's just grown up into my ribs again  :'(

@LWC1112 yes, that's what happened to me! I had not really looked recently and today noticed a huge change! It was a bit alarming.
@Car0liiine the good news is that my nipples went completely back to normal after breastfeeding, so there's hope! My boobs on the other hand... They were like deflated balloons until I got pregnant again.

  • @car0liiine totally national geographic over here. Pretty sure I used size xl flanges that I had to order online for my pump.

  • @Car0liiine National geographic over here too! I bought the large ones for pumping. And like @Bookhousegirl mine went back to normal eventually--they did look like a tennis ball dropped into a tube sock for a little while though. That was rough.
  • My linea negra finally came in and i just have very bad hip and charlie horse today, all i wanted to do is lay in bed i didn't even try to dress up at all today. I put one of DH tshirts and my pregnancy leggings and called it a good day i will probably leave early because i just feel so uncomfortable
  • Has anyone tried compression socks for swelling? I was thinking about picking some up since my feet look god awful after about two hours on them during a shift.

I wear them and they have made a difference in how my feet look/feel. The ones I bought were by Sockwell--they are sold on Amazon and come in nice colors and styles so they don't look like hospital compression socks.

  • @kristynmac thank you!

Agree with the above. I also got the Sockwell brand ones and love them. I always wear them when I know I'll be on my feet a lot during the day now.
  • The last couple of nights I've seriously struggled getting out of bed to go to the bathroom. It's so achey and sore to pull myself up, especially when I'm tired :( I've another 8 weeks to go and I'm only getting bigger!
  • @ccfc1984 Same here! There's a point in my rotation where it feels like my pubic bone is splitting down the middle too! Ugh definitely feeling big and like every movement is a hassle.
    <a href="http://www.thebump.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Parenting Tips"><img src="http://global.thebump.com/tickers/tt1cdfa8" alt=" IAmPregnant Ticker" border="0"  /></a>

  • Insomnia... I haven't slept all night in probably a week at least. At best  getting a couple hours at a time, my worst night I don't think I slept more than an hour at a time. Part of it is waking up to pee a lot, and getting out of bed is tough, I feel like a june bug stuck on its back lol.
  • I feel like I've tried everything to get back on a normal sleep schedule! Zzzquil, Melatonin, laying down earlier, waiting until I'm super sleepy, staying up as long as I can stand, getting up early no matter how little sleep I've had, breathe right strips for DH, DH waiting for me to fall asleep first, sending DH to the guest room, me sleeping on the couch . . . And yet if I lay down for a nap in the middle of the day or in the morning I might sleep for 14 hrs straight?
    1) It's a good thing I'm not working
    2) I'm really praying the ability to pass out quickly comes with baby or I'm going to die

  • @Car0liiine I am right here with you! I've been awake since 3 and before that I just tossed and turned.
  • @Car0liiine Sleeping problems are the worst! Have you tried listening to a guided meditation? That usually works for me, especially when my mind is going a million miles an hour. It can take a little practice but I find it to be really helpful. Spotify has a bunch of free ones and quite a few are specifically for sleep.

Ugh, the pubic bone pain....It's my worst symptom!  Kills me every time I roll over!
  • @Mfuller76 I have not, but I will be trying that tonight, thanks!

  • My tailbone has been aching constantly along with my pubic bone. I can't seem to get comfortable at all.
  • I no longer have ankles
    Ditto :(

also so I second the insomnia. I couldn't sleep all weekend at night, but Saturday I managed a peaceful nap. It's like my body thinks night time is awake time.

  • @midwestbaby oh I miss sleep too! Around 3 a.m. I am wide awake, but still really tired and need a nap in the afternoon.
  • The crotch pain this baby is able to inflict these days is terrible. Between that and not sleeping, I'm hoping the next few weeks go fast and that baby comes a little early. The thought of 5 more weeks sounds like eternity right now!
  • My left heel hurts pretty much all the time, but especially after I have not been moving for a while.

  • I purchased and have been wearing for two days now one of those v2 supporter/compression belts on the OBGYN's recommendation after complaining of having vaginal swelling.  I actually feel like it's worse today.  For anyone wearing compression belts or the like, did it take a few days before you noticed a difference?  I am about to declare that this is making it worse rather than better!
  • Anyone else on weekly progesterone shots?
If so are you still having BH?

I was put on the shots 4 weeks ago but am not having any. I've got plenty cramping and back aching that will radiate from front and back. But nothing like what I had with DD and BH. I feel like I'm behind, I know that sounds weird but it's bothersome to me that I'm not experiencing any.
  • Is anyone experiencing upset stomach after meals?  I'm on baby number 3 and it happened late in 3rd trimester with other pregnancies too, just wondering if I'm alone. I Eat, then I've got like 20-30 minutes to get home to the bathroom. I wouldn't call it diarrhea because it doesn't continue, just one good time and done.
  • I've had a random itch on my left arm late at night on two different occasions. I'd scratch it to relieve the itch but then there will be small tiny bumps after.

Well, I googled and got some horror stories on liver infections and stillbirth associations.

I msged my doc ASAP telling him my random symptoms on itchy arm and while I am pretty sure it's not liver infection, I just wanted him to know before I come in this Friday.

He said as long as the itch isn't on my hands and/or feet, I should be okay.

Other than his response, I find reassurance in my baby squirming and kicking pretty much all day. I'd rather take the uncomfortable feeling of kicks and squirms over a rather calm day. All in perspective. I'll see what he says on Friday. I've also been having a lot of pelvic pressure and cramps so I wouldn't be surprised if doc says I'm 1 cm dilated (it'll be my 36 wk appt). It's crunch time now.
  • @AliKay20... my 36 week appt is Friday too, and I'm really hoping all this crotch pain and pressure and bh are indications of dilating! They are also doing a quick ultrasound to check baby's position. Can't wait to see where we're at, and hopefully leave with a little hope that the end is nearer than my due date :)
  • I've been getting sharp pains in my pelvic area, my doctor said it's the baby hitting a nerve. So weird!
  • Pregnancy masking. It seriously looks like my DH has given me two black eyes right now. Anyone ever get this while pregnant? Any suggestions that are safe for pregnancy?

  • @midwestbaby at this point I would just wait until after baby is born to try and correct it. Our hormones are only going to get crazier which will lead to more melasma. I try to exfoliate three times a week and that helps to turn over the skin cells. After baby is born I'm going to get a lactic peel and start on the reverse regimen from r+f. That is what got rid of it for me after DD.

That's what I figured :( I wish I could do something about it now. God bless photoshop. I did pick up some oil of Olay lotion that is supposed to help skin cell turnover and has spf in it, but I think one day out in the sun this weekend has made it too far gone. Dang it!

  • @midwestbaby I'm a sunscreen freak because of how prone I am to discoloration and I swear it still doesn't stop it. I know concealer is the last thing you want to put on in the heat of the summer, but I'm using that and BB cream to hopefully make me look more like I have a tan and am "glowing" ha!

Anyone wake up some mornings and just feel off?  34 weeks, and I woke up this morning and still felt tired, but got moving, took my usual walk, got ready for work, etc.  I got to work and still feel off--kind of lightheaded, tired, and just utterly lacking in energy.  I've eaten as normal today, had several glasses of water, but just feel cruddy.  I'm thinking that if I don't feel better in a couple hours I'll go home and rest and possibly call the doctor.  I saw the doctor last Thursday and my next scheduled visit isn't until next Wednesday.  I've been of course more tired lately now than I was second trimester, but this is different.

    Thoughts?

  • @kwilliams3402 I think your plan sounds good. Just assess how your body feels, you know it best and go home to rest if you can.

Maybe just call your OB let them know what is going on, ask if it raises any immediate concern. If they say to watch and monitor it like you've said then do just that. But you could call now and just make sure that's not symptoms of something they worry about and would want to see you right away for.
  • Has anyone else developed carpal tunnel in the 3rd trimester? It started for me about 2 weeks ago and it's terrible!
