@MojieJo I hope you find your cat soon. I know how much they become family, and I'd be upset with the uncertainty as well.
@PoodleDoodleOoo I never realized how much I hoped my children would look like me until we had ultrasounds with DD1. She more closely resembles me, and I love it. I wouldn't mind if DD2 has some more of her dad's traits, though. DD1 did get DH's amazing eyes and super long eyelashes. Hoping this one does as well.
@UnwritteN12 I got my Loki several years before DH and I started dating. He's a huge, huge Kevin Smith fan. I told him he should have realized we were destined once he learned I had named a pet after a Kevin Smith character. (Clearly, I love Dogma, too!)
@MojieJo I really hope your cat is found soon!! It sounds so stressful. I can't even imagine!
@PoodleDoodleOoo I am obsessed with knowing who/what my baby looks like!! The possibilities are endless and it's so much fun. DH and I look nothing alike (different ethnicities) so it'll be fun to see what genes trump.
Ladies!!! They filled my position for when I'll be on maternity leave! One of our retirees from last year is coming out of retirement for the time I'm out. This is a win-win all around. She knows the people, the system, and will be able to just jump in and run with it. Just took a load off my shoulders about what's going to happen when I'm gone! I'm on cloud 9 now. Plus i'm so excited now that I won't have to worry about what'll happen to the temp when I come back - I always worry about those sorta things and feel bad when they have to leave after a short time.
@Megan324 Ew! They're all soggy and cold with wilty lettuce the next day! I like my Taco Bell tacos nice and fresh. But Taco Bell is also my fast food weakness...
I have to brag on DD. This week she's figured out how to get her Stride Rite sandals on by herself. Often on the wrong foot, of course, but cute none the less. Also, this keeps me from being chased around with them being told "Shoooo!" until I put them on her.

Please send her to teach Emmett. I know he's a few months younger than her, but this would be such a blessing. Thank goodness he can put his own hat on his head, at least we tackled that.
Not going to fuel the random girl to boy post BUT... As I've mentioned before, my BIL and his wife are expecting 2 days after us (first kid as well and no grandkids in the fam). They were just at their doc's office and asked what u/s pic shows that their baby is a girl (they were curious after seeing ours). The doc had not looked at them before apparently and just relied on the tech. When the doc looked at it he said that it looks like a girl but it is inconclusive.... I would be so flustered/mad they were so certain before and now don't know. I liked the idea of us having the same sex so I'm privately routing for theirs to be boy too.
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm taking summer science courses and things have been super busy. I'm probably going to be MIA for a little over a month still, but I think about you all daily, and I hope you and your babies are all doing- and continue to do- well!
I feel so accomplished today. I ordered everything for my bathrooms in my new townhouse and I ordered new flatware so right now my kitchen is complete, both bathrooms, and once we agree on a style of couch I can order that too and I'll be finished! My poor checking account took a beating but I caught some great sales and couldn't resist!
The bump app is attaching other people's pictures to different accounts again. It is really confusing me especially since it is happening with board regulars. Is this happening to anyone else?
@Thscary I have one person that doesn't have a pic at all, and one girl I know has one of the bump pics that changes every hour. I just go online on my phone though, I don't have the app.
I ended up taking the babe to office hours at the doctors office and was SO RELIVED at the results. I'm not a negligent mother!
The cut on her mouth did not go through her lip completely. She would not have needed stitches, it's healing fine and is not infected. He said "You'll know if it's infected. It will get big and look gross" "I thought it looked big and gross now, that's why we're here." "Oh no. bigger and grosser. You would have no doubt."
Update from my ultrasound today: The placenta has moved a little but not enough to safely give birth without a c-section yet. I guess they want it to be at least 2 cm away from the cervix and mine is only 1.1cm away. So it looks like I will be having another ultrasound in 4-5 weeks since my uterus is still growing and the placenta may hopefully move enough by then. I am curious what my OB will say (as well as if I am still on pelvic rest like the ultrasound tech said may still be the case ). My 28 week prenatal check-up is on Friday with the doctor (today was just a visit with the ultrasound tech). On the plus side, we got to spend about a half an hour looking at our baby boy and the tech even turned on the 3D view for us to see him better. He is SO cute! I know I seem biased but even the tech was gushing over his little nose and mouth. I was able to get facial shots in his 2D ultrasound too and I can't stop staring at him. I think I will post a pic in the ultrasound thread if anyone is curious. We could even see his hair today too! He currently weighs 2lbs 7oz and is only measuring 3 days earlier so they said he is still considered on track. Now my next big obstacle this week is the glucose test on Friday...dum de dum dum dum!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
@KimmySchmidt it's such a hard balance. Hopefully your daughter is healing well. My son cut his eyebrow and I made the executive decision that if we got the bleeding to stop in 15 mins, there would be no hospital trip. I went with my daughter to have her head glued up and it was traumatizing for us, and it got infected and ended up scarring anyways glad you eased your mind anyways!
I have to do my GD test tomorrow morning (which I sort of forgot about) and I missed my appt today (which I swore was next Tuesday). Baby brain is kicking my butt.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@LakeR2014 Congrats on the replacement and that they know the role, people, expectations, etc!! I have just started to train my replacement, an external hire, starting from square one so I know who huge this news is for you!! In fact, I'm envious of you
@PoodleDoodleOoo I am SO curious to see what our little guy looks like. I am completely happy if he gets my fiancé's looks but I desperately want him to have my blue/green eyes, it's the only physical trait of mine that I really wish for him.
@Themaritimemama@blondie080300 Good luck to you both on your glucose testing! Am I glad to have that test behind me (ugh)! And Blondie080300, hopefully the placenta issue resolved itself in the next weeks.
@rg1@blondie080300@themaritimemama Thank you. With all the crazy stuff he does, maybe it's not out of the bounds of possibility for him to somehow make it home.
@KimmySchmidt ugh I had that happen to my cousin when my grandmother was watching her- she tripped and fell and hit her face on the handle of a wheelbarrel (so, so random) and she split just under her eye- but there was so, so, so much blood that we couldn't see her actual eye and I was convinced she destroyed it. Luckily she was fine- after a few stitches and several hours at the ER, and washing the entire back patio down to remove all the blood before her mom got home. What a nightmare! Glad your baby's ok. Also, I had the exact same seltzer today I love the weird Polar flavors! My favorite weird one was Unicorn Kisses!
@blondie080300 awwww I will be clicking over there to see the pics! Hope your placenta keeps movin' on up! I have my GD test tomorrow at 3:45 and I'm just hoping I pass it so I don't have to do the damned 3 hour one. Good luck!
My random- this little stinker was kicking so much, and so hard, last night that DH was able to feel it just laying next to me! I love it!!! Also- I really, really miss solid sleep. I wake up around 2 or 3 every night to pee, which is better than the 5 times before, but Aiden starts kicking away and my brain starts going and I can't fall back asleep for a while. *sigh*
Ah! I haven't been around in a few days, so just catching up now.
Late on this, but LOVE PLL. I'm so embarrassed that I love it so much, so I'm glad there are others here! I watch it on Netflix though, which means I'm watching last season right now. I must say, it's nice to see them playing them actual ages!
@MojieJo I hope your kitty comes back safe and sound!!
@SarahDarah333 I hear ya! Yesterday baby had a kick that shook my whole body while I was eating breakfast! And this morning she woke me up with what I think were hiccups. Totally cute, but I'm pretty tired!
RE: Sleep or lack there of....I'm pretty sure I'm trying to function on a total of less than 3 hours of sleep last night. I must've had 5-6 trips to the bathroom, baby kicking, and simply being unable to find a comfortable spot. So yea...I'm really hoping that one cup of coffee we get a day is my savior today. Soooo sleeepy.
It's 7:18am and DD has been whine/cry/yelling at me for the past 20 minutes that "no, daddy isn't at work!" Yes, yes he is. It is too early to want to throw my kid out the window. Ugh.

It's my day off. Hanging with the little man, off to do groceries soon then hanging around here for the day. Looks like a musician at our library (1/2 a mile from here) but right at nap time so doubtful we will go. Pretty low key over here, already have an episode of Bubbleguppies on... mother of the year!

The cat's a complete idiot and annoying as hell, but we love him. He's our annoying idiot.

@apowers80 my first was born 12 days late, and my second was right on his due date. My third was 13 days early.
@blondie080300 fx that your placenta gets out of the way!
