It's hard to remember babies are people and we don't like people in our face all the time either. Sometimes we just like to sit with our thoughts.
Constantly telling my toddler a toddler version of this (aka stop annoying the baby all up in baby's face, touching face, we don't poke eyes ever, etc.). Thank goodness baby is ok with toddlers non stop chatter all day long and overall noise level (think of it as background noise that a tv or radio would normally be - we don't need that because we have a noisy toddler, lol)

Lol! So much of this. I just had this conversation with my toddler because in the past 48hrs, he has suddenly decided that he wants to play with DS2's eyelashes and eyelids every time little dude falls asleep. It's probably my fault for letting him explore my face so much, but until now, he didn't have an interest in poking around anyone else's face!
Baby's been taking a great afternoon nap in the newborn napper and then yesterday my mom put her in the swing (again napped great). Today I decided to swaddle and put in crib. I'm sitting in the rocker watching her. We moved the monitor into toddler's room, and I'm just nervous! Our first was in our room for 6 months and I know we will move this baby earlier but she seems so tiny in that crib! Cue the crazy mom fears, tears...
Pollie has been sleeping pretty much since 9:00 this morning. She'll wake up and nurse for ten minutes and then fall back asleep, I've tried waking her to keep eating but she won't open her moot at all. She's been doing this for like the past hour and a half which means i'm just sitting her unable to do anything since she'll wake up in a few minutes for her quick snack
DS1 is sick today, DS2&3 both kept waking up last night which kept me up and DS4... Well, you all know what it's like to have a newborn. I'm tired and still drinking my coffee from this morning- it's 12:30 and I'm ready for bed which won't happen until another 12 hours after the baby is done cluster feeding... That's between 8:30pm-12:30am. And they say to sleep when the baby sleeps.
Does everyone else's baby make a leaky milk mess every time they nurse? I have to have multiple burp cloth and rags to catch all the milk and spit being dispensed.
Also, DH has taken up baby narration. This morning as I was nursing DS, he unlatched and screamed at the boob. DH said he's saying "Mommy! It fell out! Put it back!"
Sooo leaky. It's part me, part her though. She's only 11 days old so my supply is being wild still AND she's messy. I use prefolds...tucked under my boob and under her chin. They get absolutely soaked. I use at least 8 a day!
I am always such a mess when nursing. It's also part me part him but I'm 5 weeks pp. I swear all my furniture is going to be covered in breastmilk. Gross!

Yes. Poor DD2 will be able to sleep through absolutely anything. DD1 has decided to yell and scream about everything to try to get more attention.
Has anyone here tried that home defense bug spray that you're supposed to spray around the outside of your doors/windows/etc? Because nobody told me that it would bring out all the bugs that you already had hiding in your house because you live in Texas where the bugs are extra freaking scary and super crafty at getting inside and that you never wanted to know about and oh my god I have to go burn down my house now

Ah! Exactly! The bugs here are ridiculous. I never had this problem when I lived in Louisiana. I cannot stand spiders and I swear they are building a small army to take over my house.

Admit defeat and RUN! we have a mice infestation. It's horrible.

Hah! I did this a week or so ago and I was wondering why the F there were so many spiders and creepy crawlies... uuuuggghhh!
When I have no idea what Levi wants I turn on the music video to Justin Bieber's What Do You Mean and dance around with him. Most lyrics apply and we both get in a better mood
I'm so sad. My dad wants to cOme out and visit his granddaughter, but he has shingles. Anyone else have a relative with shingles? Where they ever able to interact with the baby?
@missnc77 I'm sorry, that's a really frustrating situation. I wouldn't risk it if the rash is active, but the CDC has guidelines that may help you to make a judgment call or figure out if he's past the contagious stage. https://www.cdc.gov/shingles/about/transmission.html

I put on bob Marley and she stops crying. My new lullaby?? "No Harper no cry... No Harper no cry"!
@missnc77 Yes! My FIL had shingles about 2 weeks ago. He got the medication and apparently was past the contagious stage but my MIL forbid him to go near the baby for a full 2 weeks. He held the baby last Saturday and so far, nothing has happened
MY BABY IS TEETHING! How is this even possible- she'll only be 5 weeks tomorrow!! I was wondering why she was so fussy but attributed it to a growth spurt then today I saw 2 little teeth breaching the surface.
I called my Dr and we will go in of they haven't broken through by Monday.
Anyone ever been in this position before?! Freaked out FTM here...

This happens a lot - some are even born with teeth which seems insane. Just wondering, why does your doctor want you to come in?

I've heard of babies teething at 3 mo but this just seemed really early! Wasn't aware that some babies are born with teeth. We were told she should only be fussy for a few days, but since she has been fussy all week, the Dr just wants to check if it's still ongoing by Monday.
My LO hates tummy time and screams like she's being tortured the whole time. Any ideas how to make it better? We've used toys, music, mirrors, nothing works.

This is going to sound silly, but are you in the floor with her? I assume you are, but if not, try it. Definitely helps!
@ladysamlady I was reading the other day about TT, and one tip was that if LO hates it, don't do it for a few days, then try again. Or see if she will tolerate it in her crib vs the floor?
@jenly17@yogahh I'm right there with her, we mix it up floor vs bed vs couch etc and don't do it every single day which may be the problem? She has great neck control from lying on her tummy on me and my H but I know that's not quite the same thing plus I want her to figure out how to roll over. I let her cry for maybe 30 seconds before I flip her to her back, maybe I should make her stay on her tummy longer? I suck at letting her cry for any amount of time but I feel terrible that she isn't really getting her tummy time experience!
Apparently baby doesn't want to sleep today. Conveniently enough on the day DH has to work late. So he's still at work and doesn't know when he'll be done and LO is inconsolable unless held... Yay!
I am so incredibly awkward when it comes to talking about you guys around my IRL friends and family.
For example... Friend: have you heard of dreamfeeding? How's it work? Me: Oh yea! My friend @JoMunson tried it recently and had good results Friend: @JoMunson? What kind of name is that? Me: It's not her real name. It's her internet name. She's my internet friend. Friend: oh..... With a serious side eye
Another example... Mom: you're doing such a great job navigating breastfeeding. Where'd you learn all this about pumping? Me: I'm in a moms group and they help Mom: that's awesome. When are the meetings? Me: oh. No. It's online Mom: strangers? Me: where they aren't really strangers mom Mom: they're online? They're strangers.

Ours didn't fit then, and still doesn't fit now. We tried it on this week (he was almost a month in the pic) and this was the result..
His face is just like, what are you doing to me Ma?!

DH sings this when Alex cries:
'I'm a little Alex, hear me shout, here is my tears, here is my pout'
At least he has fun when baby cries
