Came back from my ivf consultation and my cycle day 14 ultrasound. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all! Follicle is size 22. I guess the pomegranate juice did something too, because my lining was 10mm...not sure if that's a good number, but it's the biggest its been for awhile now. Triggering tonight and going in on Thursday for iui#3!

@devilanne here's hoping that the 2nd time is the charm! Congrats on your new house, btw!

Came back from CD8 follicle scan there were 4 follies on right 1 dominant 2 follies on left 1 dominant. This is the most we ever have seen at this point in a cycle i've only ever had 1-2 grow and having DOR its great to see that. Since only 2 of the 6 are a bit larger we are changing dosage for 2 days: tonight 4 vials gonal-f 2 vials Menopur and tomorrow 3 vials gonal-f 2 vials Menopur with another follow up follicle check thursday. Hope for most to grow for best odds this is my 5th IUI at 28 so frustrating!

Hopefully many of us get good luck as summer approaches!

@JDW0325 I'm no expert by any means, and I've only done one IUI, but my trigger shot was out of my system by 8 dpiui. Keep testing tomorrow morning and see if it gets darker! I couldn't wait to test either and I usually just wait for AF.
Is it one of those barely there or strong and loud lines??? Good luck!

How many of you doing IUI do two in a single cycle? My first one, our doc combined a fresh + frozen sample (from long ago bf chemo) and we had really good counts for the single procedure - 37 mil. But we have no more frozen so I was thinking of asking if we could freeze a sample earlier in the month to combine again (assuming they don't charge us a butt load for that). Is it better to do two samples in two separate procedures in the same cycle? Bet they'd charge me double for that too. Just wondering what the general opinion is.

I have heard so many different opinions about this! My doc told me that it wasn't beneficial (perhaps just in my case?) to do 2 IUIs in one cycle. She said just one and TI was good enough! A friend of mine going through the same thing said her doctor recommended back to back IUIs. I guess every situation is different! Good luck to you regardless!

Thanks, @omarismyhomeboy , I had such a problem with breakthrough bleeding on IUI #2 (clomid) and IUI #3 (femara) that I pretty much demanded progesterone, even if just for my own piece of mind (because knowing half way through the TWW trying to determine if it is implantation bleeding or if you're out of contention sucks) but wasn't really briefed on much. Except that if I do get a BFP we'll continue it for 12 weeks. I think, I hope, if that is the case I will switch to giving myself shots!

IUI went smoothly today, and we had good numbers. Really hoping this works, or the next step is a laparoscopy because my doctor said my ovaries are adhered to each other and apparently I have a tilted uterus. This has never been mentioned to me before, so it was a little frustrating it was all brought up today and not earlier in this whole process. He didn't rule out the IUI working this month, so I guess that's good news.

@MMD1986 glad things went well, you have peaked my interest as I believe the nurse was stating I might have a titled uterus as well, is that bad? My mom has that and had no problems having kids. And why a laparoscopy?
Mum just trying to get my ducks in a row if this done come up positive this month.

@devilanne I'm wondering the same as you, I was scheduled for 2 IUIs this cycle but only had the chance to do the first one and not the second....which concerns me that I missed the important day but here's hoping for the best.

My doctor didn't make it sound like a tilted uterus was a terrible thing, just sounded more like they might as well fix it while in there for surgery. They'd do the laparoscopy to separate my ovaries and check for endometriosis. Hoping it doesn't come to that, but it seems like a simple procedure and it's covered by insurance.

@MMD1986- I have just been lurking, as I'm not doing an IUI this month (waiting for IVF consults in July), but I just did a Lap last week and it wasn't fun, but not horrible. While they only found mild endo and no real answers to why its not working for us, I have a lot of peace of mind knowing exactly what is going on in there. And if they do find endo and remove it, that can help with implantation my RE said. If you have any questions, feel free to PM too.

@MMD1986 My acupuncturist thinks my uterus is tilted (my RE has not confirmed) so she showed me how to massage my lower abdomen to help my uterus go back to where it should be. Apparently it is a very common practice is other cultures because the uterus is such an important muscle in the female body. It is also supposed to help with other issues surrounding infertility. Sounds like your doc is going to take care of it in surgery, but wanted to share that with you

@marissy8 how long have u been doing acupuncture for? Do u find that ur in pain later in the day. I just started did my 3rd session last night and I can't say I'm more relaxed but I did get a decent night sleep even though I had some crazy dreams so who knows. I just find I have pain in my legs so it seems a bit odd to me. It's quite costly for me so hoping it does help. I'm surprised they can tell about ur uterus I'm now curious to ask the next time. How often do u go for treatments?

CD9 ultrasound was this morning and there are 3 follies: 18mm, 12mm, & 11mm (so at least there's one good one in there). My LH is already rising a bit so RE wants me to trigger tonight and come in tomorrow for the IUI. I wasn't expecting it to be quite that soon! My lining is unfortunately still thin at 6.2, so I'll have to take estradiol again this cycle. If we need to do IUI#3 my RE is going to switch me from Clomid to Letrozole to see if that will help with the lining issues. Also managed to get in a last-minute acupuncture appointment for tonight, I'm starting to feel anxious so hopefully it will help me feel more calm going into this again. DH and I plan to go to Rita's for a frozen treat after the shot as a reward for getting it done

Had my 4th iui yesterday... And ouch... It hurt this month!!! The nurse hit the top of my uterus with the cathader, I almost jumped off of the table!

Well my iui was today! I'm a little nervous about timing. First time taking clomid this time around. I triggered on tuesday, had slight cramps on weds, went in today on thursday for the iui. I guess I'm just paranoid that I missed it this month. Last month I had very strong ovulation pains on the way to the appointment and this month I've felt nothing. Sheesh! On a positive note, DH's motility sky rocketed this time around! From 23% to ~80% (don't remember the exact number)! Still low with the numbers but at least they're moving

@MMD1986 Good luck with your iui and I hope your 2ww goes by fast!

@dani4est my iui hurt a lot more this time than the others, too! It took her forever (it felt) to get the cath all the way up. Apparently my cervix was more closed off this month than the other times. Good luck on your 2ww!

Update from my CD10 follicle scan we have a total of 7 follies they didn't catch the last one 2 days ago however...only 1 is mature, 2 others closely behind. We're planning to BD tonight + same med protocol one last night, HCG trigger tomorrow morning for IUI Sat. RE wants to give those 2 a little time to mature rather than IUI tomorrow for the 1 follie. Was really hoping for more mature but nothing is predictable so I hope for good luck this month!!

@Hopeful_mom I started acupuncture about a year and a half ago but stopped after six months once my acupuncturist got pregnant- I felt too awkward

However, I started at a different place about a month ago. I LOVE it! It makes me feel so relaxed and I always sleep for at least an hour while I am there. I never have pains during or after. In some spots (ears and fingers) the needles hurt going in, but the sensation goes away quickly. Have you let the acupuncturist know? Maybe you have more sensitivity, especially in your legs? I go to a community acupuncture which is only $20 so I am able to go one time per week. If I had to pay more than that, or I probably wouldn't go since I am paying for all of my fertility treatment out of pocket.

In terms of the uterus thing... yeah I thought it was weird that she could sense that. Again, my RE has not confirmed this. She did have me feel my pelvic area and one side did have a firmer spot. Even if your uterus is tilted, I don't think it can prevent pregnancy. Right?

@marissy8 correct!! My mom has a tilted uterus so that shouldn't be the issue. It's frustrating as I would like to kno the reason I'm not go curbing as everything is doing what it suppose to be YET here I am.
i did mention I was in quite a bit of pain after so who knows, I will say this time was better. I feel so desperate that I'm willing to try if it can help! Mine is 130 if u pay as u go and 110 in a pkg which really is so pricey so it's really not something I'm gonna be able to keep up with, but thrilled ur enjoying it!! I'm exhausted when I go and start to dose off too.
how many IUIs have u done? Is this ur first? It is mine and it's scary the most natural thing a woman is suppose to do, I can't

@Starlight811 I felt exactly the same as you, we want better odds for the IUI and I'd love twins at this point. But the nurse did say we want healthy babies and u only need one mature follicle to do it, so hopefully this is it, good luck to u!!

@wintersong555 hope everything went great!!! U should feel good, funny I'm the opposite of you, I did my trigger and has my IUI the next morning and missed the following day. I believe they like to do it the following day as the egg is already released and close to where it needs to implant so the sperm is catching it right away, so u have great odds....at least that's how my nurse explained it. HI there ladies! The end of my TWW is tomorrow and I'm beyond anxious. It's a little surreal since this is the last IUI. I'm terrified at the prospect (mainly the physical aspect) of moving to IVF. Heading to Minnesota this weekend to celebrate the DH's birthday- either way I guess it's a celebration!!!

@Hopeful_mom You're great! Thanks for the reassurance. My doctor explained to me that there are a couple of things she looks for in the u/s that signals ovulation is happening soon: the lining of the follicle starts to look jagged and not smooth, and the uterine lining doesn't have that distinct "three layer" look to it, it starts to look "fuzzy" on the u/s. I didn't have any of that two days ago. I can sit here and speculate all day whether I O'd early and missed my window, but I won't have my answer if the iui worked or not for another two weeks

. Did you mention the size of the follicle? I remember the one mature one I had was at 20/22 and my acupuncturist said OH ur just about ready to ov and I took my trigger shot later that night. I just finished my first week and can't believe I have another week to go, but I can't say I really feel any different....only time will tell. Good luck!!

@Hopeful_mom Yes! I believe we must've had the same or similar size, because my doctor mentioned it being 22..that's all I remember! I took the trigger later that night. I should start paying more attention. I'm just so focused on the u/s, I tend to zone out. hehe
