Random question - anyone who has had both a boy and girl pregnancy felt that girls make you more emotional? I am a downright hormonal disaster at this point (38 weeks)... and I'm just curious if it could be extra girl hormones or something.
Likewise, it could just be dealing with a pre-schooler and toddler this time around that is really taking its toll on me. I have been downright mean to my kids today and I'm ready to be loving Mommy again...
What extra girl hormones would she possibly have? Sorry. Hormonal disaster is normal and not related to LO's sex (at least not for about 13yrs)
Maybe not extra hormones, I just meant the different hormonal make-ups of girls vs boys... wondering if that somehow could affect us, as the mother, differently... haha just trying to justify my psychotic episodes lately that I fortunately avoided with the last two go-rounds...
....yeah... see prior post.
And cut yourself some slack, it's normal to be emotional around 38wks, even if you didn't notice it manifesting as much in prior pregnancies. No big reason beyond that. If you can get some extra help with the kiddos and some downtime for yourself that will definitely help.
I went to my weekly dr appt today (39wks at this point) and was hoping (as most do) that there was some progress since last week's appt. Nope. Still 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. Total bummer. On the brightside, kiddo is still growing and doing just fine, so there's that I suppose.
We have been calling this baby batman since the beginning (mostly because it was conceived after our last trip to 6 flags last summer and....why not) so I was super excited when I found a batman cake pan this past weekend at a garage sale. Took a stab at decorating my very first cake for the baby shower they threw me at work today. I literally laughed the whole time I made this cake. For some reason it was super fun for me and it's a batman cake.....which is just amazing.
@June2016BabyW Love it!! I had to show my husband (huge Batman fan) and he wants one. We called our little guy Chalupa Batman (thanks to that fantasy football show, The League) during most of the pregnancy until we settled on a name.
We have a batman themed nursery and then two weeks ago realized how ridiculous it is because we are marvel people. Haha
I actually hate this so much but my fiancé's cousin gave his son the middle name Batman. I think it's ridiculous.
That's too funny! I'm definitely more of a Marvel fan, but my husband loves both. We came very close to doing a comic book themed nursery (mix of DC and Marvel) but ended up doing a Star Wars nursery instead.
Wow, really? Like the legit middle name is Batman? That's...well that's certainly something haha.
Haha. I can't believe they named a kid Batman. Even middle name!! We were joking that if this is a boy we could name the kid Bruce Wayne and our last name starts with a W. So it would be batman but it's initials would also be BWW, which is one of our top favorite places to eat. Double win!
I'm 37w2d. H brought a nasty cold home from work last week. One of his coworkers was so sick and kept telling everyone it was just allergies....obviously that wasn't the case. I tried so hard not to get it from him, but he passed it to our toddler who then proceeded to sneeze into my open mouth (gag) repeatedly. Now I'm sitting in bed feeling what seem to be contractions, and my throat is just starting to get sore. The last thing I want is to be sick when I go into labor - and worse to bring the baby into a sick household. Hopefully It passes soon, but I want to kill this guy that H works with.
Doesn't really have much to do with being pregnant (besides that I am having this baby on Monday and I really need my sleep) but I forgot to turn off my 6am alarm last night... when it went off this morning I was determined to just let it run its course and ignore it but my dog had other ideas... He got so anxious and was whining and barking at me to get up I finally relented. So I get up and turn it off only to turn back to the bed and find my darling little jerk curled up in a ball trying to sleep in my spot butthead even glared at me when I made him move over...
