@AnnaS930 - Most rides at Disney are actually baby friendly. We took my 6 month old niece on a TON of rides at Disney and apparently I went on them when I was that age, too (though i don't remember, obviously). For the rides that have height requirements, you can do a 'rider swap,' where one parent rides, while one waits with the kids, and then the next parent rides to avoid waiting in line twice, but that will depend on how your kids can handle mommy and daddy riding without them, and if you feel like that ride is worth the hassle.
@AnnaS930 We haven't been to Disney since our honeymoon nearly 5 years ago. It's been a long time! The resorts have a nanny service that I am planning on utilizing one night so that DH and I can have some us-time and enjoy the Disney night life. I want to spend time at the resort and pool to keep things relaxing and low-key, but I figure we can still enjoy most of the attractions and easier rides at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. I hope they'll be too small to find Epcot boring, but can see Hollywood Studios having very little they could enjoy. Also looking forward to character dinners for McKenna. I've thought of this vacation more than I've realized. Haha.
@PoodleDoodleOoo I forgot they do a rider swap! I think we will just skip the big rides this vacation, but I like knowing we have that option, if we want.
What to expect when you are expecting is on tv! I watched this pre pregnancy and totally identified with j-lo's character but now its me and Elizabeth banks ! Lol
I'm not sure I can handle Disney after my last experience. Last year my company rented out one of the parks for an evening event, so no lines for rides, a comfortable 75 degrees, no kids, buffets all around the park and FREE alcohol. The real thing just can't be that good.
Apparently this is an UO. I have zero desire to take my kid(s) to Disney anytime soon. We went to Universal last year (for me, hello, HP!?) and the kid came because, you know, package deal, and it worked because my parents went to so we could do child swap. However, we spent one night at Downtown Disney for dinner and the place was a zoo. I'd be so nervous I'd lose a kid or feel claustrophobic that it's just not worth it to me when they're that little. They certainly won't remember it. So yea, we'll wait til late elementary at least.
@diagonalley I have zero desire to do Disney ever. Maybe one day, but I'd much rather go to Canada's wonderland and the zoo instead. Disney is so far away from me!
I have heartburn like a MOFO today. Dying.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@UnwritteN12 your little guy looks sooo much like a mini cop ! And your girl is adorable! Makes me sad that she misses the Minnesota snow, but at the same time, is she crazyyyy!!?? Ha
If anyone wants to come to DisneyLAND we could have a mini s16 bump reunion. It's less busy than WDW because there are fewer parks plus having worked there I still have some connections
I'm weirdly excited about labor. Apparently your mind/body do forget about all that pain.
Me too!! I'm all excited about those first contractions when you know, "this is it!" My labor wasn't bad at all last time, I only got the epidural because I was afraid to push without it, so I'm excited too! Recovery...not so much.
It's ridiculous for a grown woman to throw a pity party on Facebook about how disappointed she is in family and friends because people aren't coming to her daughter's baby shower (second shower for her third child).
Guess what? Several people aren't coming to my shower (as a first time mom of twins) a week later--and there may be even more people who won't be attending; I haven't seen the guest list and only know about the ones who have mentioned not attending to me directly--and I'm not getting butt-hurt about it. Do I wish those people could/would come? Of course I do. I'd love to see them and celebrate with them. But I'm not about to put them on a guilt trip on social media about it (or even put them on a guilt trip at all).
@MojieJo sorry to hear they're shitting on your parade I'm glad you're seeing the better side of things. Look at it this way, you'll get about the same amount of gifts, but have a more intimate shower with less people to entertain.
@MojieJo so true. I hate how selfish other people get when this event is supposed to be about YOU! You only get one first baby shower!! And many of us will have only one shower, so embrace it and screw everyone else
Almost 24 weeks is NOT the time to pick up a book on how to have a healthy multiples pregnancy. Apparently I'm doing it wrong and dooming my children to be underweight because I haven't gained enough.

AHHH not sure how to get out of this text box. Not a multiples pregnancy here but still feeling guilty like I'm dooming my child cause I apparently haven't gained enough according to books/websites. My doctor hasn't said anything though so I take comfort in that. im definitely not gaining the "one pound per week" that the books say I should be right now, but I feel like one week I'll just go up by 4 pounds or something lol
When I went to the OB this week for my checkup the cutest thing happened while I was waiting in line to check out. This woman who was so ecstatic was in tears and the nurse kept asking her "does your husband know?". And she finally replied "no, I'm going to surprise him when he gets home." Well apparently the big surprise was she found out at her scan that they'd be having 2 babies (boys) instead of 1!
@RG1 I just can't win. With my singleton I gained too much, this one I can't gain enough!
@redmar holy cow! So she must have been pretty far along to find out the sexes. I'm glad my husband was with me at our first ultrasound because I don't think he would have believed me.
@PSUBecky23@diagonalleyI used to go to Disneyland in January (MLK weekend). Minimal lines, occasional rain. I recall going on Space Mountain, getting off, and running all the way back on to the ride again. Now with a future kid in tow, I would def avoid going in summer!
Fun: husband's coworker/friend's wife works at a local department store and scored us 40% off on our stroller AND crib. Maternity shoot on Monday (a tad early, I know)!
We went to Disney first week of may and it was awesome, minimal lines easily rode rides a few times. This next trip has to be on a school vacation because my sister is a teacher, but we will make it work. I don't like the crowds of cities, but Disney crowds don't bother me
camichael84 and @AnnaS930 Yay for Disney! If anyone ever needs any Disney advise I can help. I am a certifiable Disney fanatic. I am a passholder and and take a few trips a year + a few days that I drive there for fun. We are actually heading to Animal Kingdom tonight for our last Disney day before the baby comes! (I have a seasonal pass with blackouts in summer)
Anywho.... I would also check out wdwmagic.com they have a really good forum on their site and lots of disney experts who are willing to answer any questions.

I've never been to Disney! Always wanted to. Fiancé went and hated it and doesn't want to take our children there but I'll probably convince him- let's be real lol
My DH gave me a hard time about going to bed at 10. But I'm glad I did since I woke up at 12 and couldn't go back to sleep. Then, my toddler woke up at 2 and didn't fall asleep until 6!!!! Aaaaaack! Up at 8, so I managed two 2-hour stretches of sleep. So tired. And have stuff I have to go to today. May be in bed by 8 tonight. Haha.
@megan324 he's wrong. You don't need that kind of negativity in you life. lol. No but for real, Disney with kids is a whole different experience. I would definitely wait until they're at least 5 though to go so that they can remember. Especially if he's so anti-Disney.
It's supposed to be 100+ degrees the next two days and we don't have AC
It's not supposed to be this hot here Especially not in early June. We got one of those portable ACs 2nd hand last summer and it helps a little. It's the kind that sits on the floor and we set it up in our living room/main part of our small house. I also have a large hot/cold pack from Walgreens i plan to slip in my pillow case if it's too hot to sleep. Oh, and Popsicles. What are your stay cool plans?
