@Ah825Similar to my response above.. I don't think I had ever even heard of not having soft serve for my entire last pregnancy, and I haven't let it stop me from having a couple DQ Blizzards this year. I'd be having some Mickey D's soft serve but I'm not afraid of ice cream in the least.
@Megan324 They didn't ask me with my first, and handed me an orange. I then asked if I could have a fruit punch instead. I've now tried both flavors and they tasted the same to me. So maybe it won't matter much anyway. (I've never tried the Lemon-Lime, so I can't speak for that one.)
@ah825 I eat soft serve at McDonald's and Dairy Queen. Sometimes I just need my hot fudge sundaes!
@Ah825 I was eating all the Blizzards in the first tri but I stopped after talking to my brother. When I mentioned at one point that I shouldn't eat soft serve but still did and explained the bacteria/cleanliness, he went 'aahhhh, that makes sense'. He used to work at a fast food restaurant for MONTHS before they cleaned the machine after a health inspector told them. Nobody knew they had to clean it, not even the manager that had been there for over a year. He said it was filthy and that those machines get really disgusting really fast so you have to be really on top of it. Totally anecdotal but I stopped having soft serve after that.
I eat Chipotle all the time still, I will admit there haven't been any cases around here and if there had been maybe I wouldn't
Re Surrogacy: I have thought a lot about this as my brother is gay. He claims he never wants kids, he really has never like them (even as a child himself lol), but who knows when he is older and finds the right man. I still don't know for sure, there would be conditions like I need a once a week maid and a couple home cooked meals a week. I know I would not be ok with donating my egg though...
Anyone working at a desk job concerned about baby's ability to move into the correct placement? I go to a chiropractor and try to exercise often (I know I need to exercise more). I hate sitting in an office chair all day. I may drag in an exercise ball soon here.

My OB used to have them in a fridge in the blood draw room, and this pregnancy I noticed the fridge is gone and the drinks are just out. I hate room temp drinks!

Would it be strange to start a baby name thread of "love it but can't use it"? I need some inspiration, and I think that would be a neat spot to see what others love but won't use for various reasons. Alternatively, if there is already a thread like that, I would love to be pointed in that direction. I suck at searching on this app

@RG1 Just soft serve, since the machines can breed Listeria. However, use your own judgement on the risk, just like with lunchmeat. Regular ice cream is fine - or at least, as much as it ever is
Hi ladies!!! I just wanted to pop in since it is the beginning of June and I only had 7 pages to get through to get caught up this month. Lol. I hope you are all doing well! My life has only sped up since April/May and there are no signs that it will slow down any time soon. I was in Denver last week, Kansas City this week, Chicago next and then D.C. (all for work). It kinda sucks, not gonna lie. I really miss just focusing on planning for baby so I am hoping to stop traveling in July and keep my feet up as much as possible! The vericose veins have made an appearance and my belly hurts when I stand too long. But boy oh boy is this little boy moving and kicking a lot!
Anyways, I just wanted to wish you all well as we enter our 7th month of pregnancy and I hope to have more time to check in more!

I love soft serve when the baby demands it. I figure my chances of getting sick are pretty much even across the board. I guess I could try living in a bubble, but I would probably be super bitchy.
I would be a surrogate for someone I love. I had a pretty hard time getting knocked up, though, so I bet I wouldn't be a first choice.
I'm with @KimmySchmidt. I'm realizing now that I must eat a TON of ice cream compared to you all! I eat it probably 3 times per week. Soft serve from Culver's, usually, but there have also been a couple DQ blizzards, a McDonald's hot fudge sundae and some Fro-Yo in there, too. It's my vice (well...one of them.) I don't worry about it. And, on that same note, I ate Chipotle tonight for dinner. I did avoid it for a while when the food poisoning cases were first coming out but since things have died down, I haven't been able to stay away.
RE: Surrogacy. When I was pregnant with DD, I loved it and totally thought I would be willing to surrogate someday (if the right situation presented itself). This pregnancy has been much harder on me, though, so I'm not sure whether or not I would anymore...unless it was for someone I really, really cared about.
Random RE Surrogacy: Several years ago (before I had DD), I had a filling redone in one of my molars. The dentist and the dental assistant somehow got on the subject of surrogacy/pregnancy/etc. Turns out, the assistant had been a surrogate for triplets in between her own two biological pregnancies. Surrogacy (the money she was paid) allowed her to stay home with her infant son and continue to do so for a year after her daughter was born. Meanwhile, the dentist herself had donated eggs several times to put herself through dental school. So they related stories about hormone shots and the like and it was literally the most interesting conversation! By far my most entertaining dental experience to date, haha.
The fantastic locally owned water ice (I think it's called Italian ice in other areas) place near me has a pregnancy rewards card! They are just giving me 10 free water ices through the summer so long as I go with another person! Since water ice has been my #1 craving my whole pregnancy this is a huge win!
I don't think I'm living in a bubble there are just some things I rather not take the risk on. Like A dirty Soft serve machine and a chain with a recent history or food illness...
But def understand people who want to take the risk! No judgement here!

Yeah well husbands game is being completely rained out tonight - WTF. It's 9pm here and they still haven't called it and are trying to wait the rain out but it is a damn monsoon out there. If they don't play tonight which is highly unlikely then they are scheduling it for Saturday. COME ON!!!
@AnnaS930@camichael84 Have you heard of the 2hour GD test? My OB offered this to me and I'm deeply considering it bc I failed the 1hr last time. Supposedly the 2hr test is more definitive. I'm thinking I'll opt for it bc I hate wasting time in the lab.
After hearing if exactly NO people using the name we are strongly considering for baby girl, a former student who lives several blocks from me just announced the birth of her new daughter. Named that name. It takes the wind out of my sails about it a little, but going to do my best to put it out of my mind. But seriously. It's a name that is far from the top 500. Blergh.
@redmar I get chart notes of diabetic patients being diagnosed with the 2 hour test using 75grams of glucose, so right on the middle of the 2. I think as you do more time/blood draws you get a better picture of how the body processes the glucose, so I'd go for that if offered!
