  • @mandyjulie that happens to me all the time. My hands fall asleep easily as it is and now I think it happens from sleeping awkwardly on my arm to try and get comfortable. I am not naturally a side sleeper so I have a really hard time finding a comfortable place for my arms haha.
  • @stellaluna14 Oh that's a good point, side sleeping awkwardly. When not pregnant I usually fall asleep on my side but end up on my back, so full-night side sleeping definitely isn't as natural. And yeah I call 'em T Rex arms!

  • I'm short of breath all the time, but especially after I eat.  My choice right now is either room to expand my lungs or room to expand my stomach to digest food.  LO will not make space so I can do both apparently.

  • All day I've been getting what feels like a mixture of gas pain/period cramps. I'm hoping it is just Braxton hicks or I ate something weird. Also feeling lots of pressure but she is head down now. I may call if it keeps up tomorrow but for now it's not fun.

    Me too :-(

And TMI but I just had the most unsatisfying, nonproductive poop ever, which makes me wanna cry. Just so off schedule and out of the ordinary. I'm chalking up my discomfort to that gastrointestinal issue, and not baby action.
  • When I lay down, I can feel my heart pounding. Not every beat, but random ones. Wtf?
  • @ladyfleck Glad to know I'm not the only one!!! I'm also having bathroom issues. Most likely that is the problem.

If it lasts much longer I'll be posting about it in the #whymypregnantselfiscrying thread. It's the worst!
  • It hurts when I roll over at night. I can't sleep on one side too long or I have hip pain so I have to sit up then move to the other side multiple times at night. Soooo much fun -_-
This is me too. We have a recliner in the room next to mine, so I've been sleeping in there after both sides hurt too much to lay on my side any longer.
  • Thanks to the horrible heartburn I had all evening, I just woke up and puked stomach acid EVERYWHERE and now I just feel like crying. This has only happened to me one other time this pregnancy so I'm hoping it was just another fluke and I can make it 5 1/2 more weeks without it happening again. At the risk of over sharing, I managed to get it down the inside of my shirt, all over the front of my shorts, in my hair, and I left a trail across the entire bathroom floor and down the front of the vanity underneath my sink. How I managed to avoid getting anything on the carpet in the bedroom and hallway is beyond me. I do feel a lot better now, but still. YUCK! Hoping I can just fall back asleep now...
  • @Shelby00519 & @holly142 - Yep...and then I feel like a beached whale when flipping to the other side. I do find that it's still comfortable to lay on my back once in awhile, and it takes the pressure off my lower back (and subsequent pain that lasts all day). I know it's not the best for blood flow but it still seems to be ok (i.e. don't experience any symptoms from it).

  • Anyone else's hands fall asleep by the time they wake up? Might be a swelling thing.
My doctor said I have carpel tunnel in my left hand (writing hand) but apparently it is extremely common in pregnancy in both hands/arms. I get "pins and needles" and it falls asleep usually when I'm sleeping. In fact I have woken up with extreme cramping. It doesn't help that I like to curl my arms and hands when I sleep but I can't help it. I was told to get a hand/wrist brace for it. Hope you get some relief. I've found that massaging them and getting the blood flowing helps a little whether you do it or someone does it for you.

  • So I have a kidney infection.  It also seems like I am getting a respiratory infection too. Lucky me.
  • @BecauseBabyIamAPug That's a lousy double whammy
  • @BecauseBabyIamAPug oh no! That sucks! Sending healing thoughts your way.

My hands fall asleep when I'm sleeping too! I always thought it was because I'm sleeping in these weird positions. The wrist pains while I type/write had stopped but I guess I need to start wearing my brace again.

  • Had a checkup yesterday, I'm 34 weeks tomorrow but fundal height measured at 38.5 weeks. Entire 3rd tri so far either my fundal height is ahead, or based on ultrasounds baby has been measuring a few weeks ahead. I totally feel it - this kid feels so much bigger than my DD was (and she was almost 9 pounds) sometimes when he kicks it physically hurts. Just another month or so to go....totally ready at this point!

@givemepenguinss your heart pounding like that it probably an effect of heartburn. That happens to me a lot. Try to prop yourself up when you're laying down.

Same here was going to post about if anyone else feels like theyrr about to give birth just rolling over in bed at night. I can't win, now my pillow in between my legs gives me back and hip pain, sleeping without it makes me nauseous, move too fast and I get a charlie horse in my calf that makes me almost kill my husband trying to get out of bed, in order to roll over I have to sit up completely and I still feel like babies head is about to pop out. And to top it all off I can't stay in bed past 7 because I get nauseous so I'm forced to get up and be exhausted for the day.... Please hurry up July.
  • All the heartburn. I feel like I am solely responsible for keeping the Tums company afloat right now.

Also complete and utter exhaustion, to the point where it feels physically painful to be awake sometimes. The last two nights I have passed out on the couch around 7:30 pm for a post-dinner sofa coma. I blame my husband for taking over the TV to binge watch a show about tow truck drivers in Canada. How am I supposed to stay awake through that?
  • Sitting has become uncomfortable - no matter where it is. Wish I knew if baby was in fact head down now (I'm 33 weeks) because it feels like something pushing on my ribs when I try to sit certain ways. Nothing like trying to find a way to partially recline in my chair at work!

  • @HoneyBear40 I've been feeling the same way (32 weeks) and my doc confirmed yup she's head down. If I hunch, baby girl kicks me in the ribs. Good posture correction mechanism.
  • I know the baby is head down from the doctor's exams. Several times a day baby decides to do womb yoga and I get the butt bulging out on my right side and very strong kicks/stretching out on the left side. I thought the baby was supposed to be running out of room in there? Definitely feels like baby is making him/herself plenty of room!

I do wish the butt was on the left side though...I've read that having the butt on the right side can lead to back labor?

@sboston06 my DD is doing womb yoga as well. Either that or she's in there twerking. It was funny the other day at my NST because for once she wasn't having a dance party and the nurse used the buzzer to wake her up. She basically goosed the baby and wow did she jump.

    Edited because gif didn't work.
  • @sboston06 baby facing your belly button (or "sunny side up") can lead to back labor, but they can roll move up until the bitter end. Mine prefers butt on my right side but he also rolls around a lot. I'm 35 + 5 and trying to do things to encourage him to face my spine, but I'm not stressed about it. If you go into labor and the baby is sunny side up doing a lot of cat/cow can flip them.

This! Besides the discomfort in my ribs every once in a while the right side of my bump gets really hard and round. I keep asking everyone if they think it's a butt!
  • My feet and ankles are so swollen, I am about to say screw it and walk barefoot everywhere, I am tired of shoving my feet into any kind of shoe.

I am also having shortness of breath, especially after walking up a flight of stairs, I feel like a heavy smoker.

I am right there with y'all! I would like to just have 1 or 2 regular poops not 10 tiny ones. GRRRR.

  • Might just be me, but I've found Rolaids to work on heartburn a lot better than tums. They taste better too.
  • Heartburn every night, no matter what I do. Sore back/pelvic area/hips causing me to wake up 100% to try and roll over and get comfortable again... which tends to happen every hour or so, so sleep seems like a distant memory. Now, to top it all off its getting super hot outside (100+ this weekend) and my feet are swelling. What I would give to have a nice cool pool to float in for a couple hours. Sadly, work has a strict rule of no employees can use the pool after Memorial Day. :(
  • @givemepenguinss Has your doctor ever mentioned getting your thyroid checked out? I know pregnancy can throw it out of whack and beating like you described can a symptom.

Heartburn is back with a bang. I'm very unimpressed at this right now, I honestly thought I had finally gotten over the worst of it. Oh and pregnancy insomnia WTF? As if I didn't lose enough sleep from getting up to pee/tossing and turning/heartburn, now I lay here looking at the four walls because they seem to be more entertaining to my mind than sleeping. Deep breaths, deep breaths.

  • My belly button hurts. It's weird it has not fully popped but it is very shallow now. Also my stomach skin below my belly button hurts. I'm also fairly certain my bladder muscles have peaced out as pee pretty much just falls out of me recently... Pregnancy is weird

I've been craving ice lately too. I've heard it can mean low iron but I dont know how true that is. I had a big cup of ice on my way to work this morning lol
