My random... DD woke up crying in the middle of the night, so she came to sleep with us for a couple hours. (We haven't had to do this since her molars came in at the beginning of the year.) I woke up at one point, and she'd moved to the bottom of the bed and was sleeping with her head at the foot of the bed. I have no idea when she moved to that position, but it cracked me up. So that is when DH moves her back to her crib, and the dog jumps up and immediately takes her spot in the bed... proving he is in fact the second (well, now, third) baby.
I live in a community with a large Mennonite population. I have long since come to terms with certain things that I don't agree with (some strongly) as being a part of their culture, and I have to accept and put aside my soap box. This morning though I was driving to work on one of the main roads out of town, and saw a Mennonite man riding his bike on the shoulder with no helmet (a very common sight, I have never seen one wearing a helmet). What was rather out of place, was the no more than 3 year old boy riding on his shoulders, also not wearing a helmet. On a bike. On the side of the road where cars are doing 100 km/hour. Needless to say I lost my shit, called 911, and an hour later I am still shaking.

Hypnobirthing class was amazing!! There is one other couple in my class and they are 24 weeks along as well. Perfect! 1 class down, 4 to go! I loved it!
I slept so horribly last night! My back is in so much pain and the heartburn has officially kicked in. Heartburn was so bad last night that I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and had this awful taste in my mouth. Pretty sure it's the reflux. Yuck!
However, in spite of the crummy sleep, I am going to be giddy and smiley all damn day today! We scheduled my c-section today!! As long as these babies cooperate (and I have no reason to believe that they won't), they will be here on the morning of 16 August. I'll be 37+2. Of course I'm not running out and make up birth announcements. But, if they're anything like their brother and sister, they won't even try to make an appearance prior to that date!
Gastritis, I hate you so much. I wish you could step on a lego on your way out, hit your pinky toe when you open the door, get your finger jammed in it when you close it, hit your head when you get into the car, and then drive yourself off of a cliff. Kthxbai.
Speaking of donuts, yesterday my friends nephew tried to convince her that donuts don't have sugar so he could have a donut and a blue slushie. He is 3. It was adorable.
@UnwritteN12 Yay! That's so exciting! There is probably no way you want to push it back 8 days, right? The 24th is my birthday... good day to be born. Lol.
Yay, another coworker just brought up the new numbers on Zika in the US (still.. none infected while on U.S. soil). Now I sit and wait and listen to see if prego coworker has anything to say!
@AnnaS930 I've seen a lot of Zika stuff popping up lately. Makes sense this time of year, I know, but I'm now starting to feel they are fear mongering. I still think your coworker was irresponsible and stupid, but I read something yesterday urging mothers in low risk zones to wear bug spray around the clock as well as long sleeve pants and shirts. I want to do what I can to protect my baby (avoid infected areas, DH and I wear bug spray outside), but I'm not going to live like there is a constant ongoing threat when I live in a low risk zone, and there are yet to be any cases that were infections from the US.
Oh, but I do want to hear if your fellow pregnant coworker had anything to say about someone bringing up the new numbers.
It's now past 2:30 and this is the first time i've been able to Bump all day...because there's actually stuff to do at work, on a Friday...this is so unacceptable!
So I WAS the only solo mom at the class I took yesterday but I made a point to mention DH in my intro, so I think that tapered off any side glances or judgement. Ha. Whatever, we practiced swaddling (Happiest Baby on the Block techniques class) and I clearly had the best swaddled doll without a man by my side. SO THERE.
@Sbrown721 I feel the same way, but Old Navy is having a great sale right now and I was able to get a bunch of great options for super cheap! Some shirts/shorts were under $5!
How much water is everyone honestly drinking? Does this effect amniotic fluid? I was told to get in 64 ounces of fluid/day, but I have to admit that that does not happen most of the time.
@Sbrown721 Water (or any fluid) intake most definitely can effect amniotic fluid levels. It also can cause/prevent Braxton Hicks. My Braxton Hicks last time were almost always associated with days I was dehydrated. I up my water intake during pregnancy, but don't measure anything. I'd say I usually get around 80-100 oz a day.
ETA: I've always been a pretty good water drinker. And possibly just a thirsty person in general?
@Sbrown721 I'm not sure if it effects the levels of amnio fluid but it made me think of a funny story.
I taught until the day I had my son last time around (so glad I won't have to do that again!!) and was so ready to go into labor in midst a class. One of my students yelled out "Mrs., won't your water break if you drink a lot of water?" If only it was that easy my friend...
Is anyone else super thirsty at night before bed? I work out evenings so I'm assuming that's attributing to the cause but MAN it's so hard to quench my thirst before bed which leads to getting up repeatedly to use the restroom at night. WOMP. My system is failing me.
There is an amazing looking condo that just went on the market yesterday and we are going to see it Sunday! If it is as good as it looks online we will put in a bid that day, I'm so excited! Today I've been trying to get all our paperwork together so we will have the approval letter beforehand.
@Sbrown721I am pretty consistent with my water drinking and get right about 64oz in each day at minimum. Some days I drink more.
@camichael84is right about water causing/preventing braxton hicks...but in my case, I get braxton hicks from drinking too much water. At first, I thought it couldn't be but my OB confirmed at my last appointment...basially, any time I let my bladder fill up, it gives me contractions. Then, when I finally pee and empty my bladder, the change in pressure adjacent to my uterus gives me another one. So basically almost every single time I pee. It's kind of annoying because I know, relative to the suggested amount, I'm not drinking that much water (as PPs have said, others go up to 100oz/day!) Anyone else having this issue!?
@mom2adoodle Yes! I can't get enough water before bed and then I'm up all night going to the bathroom. I try to keep on track during the day, but it's like my thirst catches up to me.

I'd say I'm normally between 32-48 oz though.

I don't work out at night, so I have no excuse
