  • @camichael84 - Ahhhh!! I didn't recognize you at first! LoL!
Did my new hair throw you off?
I must be imagining things. When I came on here an hour ago, your picture was a flower, not your normal pic. I may be going slightly crazy though....lol
Haha. You're probably not going crazy. I get Bump glitches with messed up profile pics sometimes, too.

  • @AnnaS930 I thought I was having another girl from pretty early on. But after reading a post from someone else on here (I can't remember who!) that was having their second girl, it hit me that I was sure it was girl. I thought you were having another boy, but I was likely influenced by the fact that you mentioned you thought it was a boy. Haha.

Also, I don't have any intuition about what @LakeR2014 is having, but I'm hoping it's a girl because of the name she's picked out.

  • @AnnaS930 When I think of your co-worker, I think how fun I'd think it'd be to eat some raw brownie batter in front of her then when she questions my judgment or gives me a side eye, remind her how she, by choice, spent a week vacationing in a Zika infected part of the world.
Agreed. Today's complaint is that she started her pregnancy probably 20+ pounds light than me (She's a size 0 or 2), and is 6 weeks behind me. She was going around to cubicles asking everyone to guess what she's having (although her anatomy scan is a few weeks away still), then stands next to me to compare how we're carrying. Ummm, no thank you. You brag every day that you'll never wear maternity clothes while my pants waistband touches the bottom of my bra and I'm ok with that. I feel really good about this pregnancy but she makes me feel like shiz.

  • I want maternity jeans soo bad, but I tried on the ones at Motherhood Maternity and they were HORRIBLE! So so baggy. I heard Target pants are even worse. I don't have a Pea in the Pod near me so, I may have to be brave and order online...can't wait to get rid of these belly bands and get super comfy even if the waistband is up to my bra!
  • @Sbrown721 - I have all of my maternity jeans from my friend, who must think herself a giant (she's not, she's 5 2 like I am) because all of the ones she gave me are HUGE in all areas. I can't wait for it to be consistently warm so I can just wear dresses and ditch the pants!
  • @PoodleDoodleOoo - I also want it to be warm! Why is warm weather taking so long to get here. Ugh!

I may just hold out for that as well! I am going to live in maxi dresses and light sweaters at my office once it starts to warm up a bit more!

@camichael84 Me too!   Although DH is really hoping for a boy, I just keep picturing a girl though.  It'll be weird/great if we have a boy, but I keep thinking girl.

Also, @AnnaS930 I pictured you having a boy the whole time so was excited and all 'I knew it!' when you announced. :)
  • @PSUBecky23 No!!!! Stay Strong!  You can do it!   Team Green!  Team Green!
  • @LakeR2014 for a while I got you and @SLou24 confused in my mind, and I really thought she was having a boy, her girl announcement actually shocked me... so maybe I'm getting the boy vibe from you instead ;) My guess is boy!

  • @PSUBecky23 Welcome to the dark side! ;) I mean, it'll still be a surprise now vs when the baby is born right? Haha at least that was my rational.
  • @mom2adoodle that's my husband's reasoning. He wants to know so bad. But I just have this perfect vision in my head of my husband catching baby and getting to announce the sex. Obviously, that's not going to be what happens but that'd be awesome.

  • I try to keep my feet up a lot at work (on boxes under my desk), but sitting with my legs straight out is putting so much pressure on my tailbone. I think I need to start sitting on an inflatable donut! oy.

  • @PSUBecky23 Lol, I have the same dream, but DH jokes that he's gonna tell me the wrong gender, so now my dream has turned into a nightmare! I know he wouldn't actually do that, but he has planted the doubt!

  • My issue with Etsy and craft fairs is that I see the product and think "I could make that" ... I am decently crafty and sometimes I could make it (definitely if it's a sewn product, definitely NOT if it's a painting/art piece) but I need to start weighing the amount of time these crafts will require (and never get) versus just shelling out the money to buy them

  • @AnnaS930 your pregnant coworker sounds...special haha. I have actually been pregnant with coworkers both times. The first time there were about 10 of us pregnant at the same time--it was nuts but actually really fun. This time there are 2 other girls that are pregnant with me. They are really cool though so it has been fun, thank God! My one friend is due in August and still has managed to buy NO maternity clothes! She is just actively trying to avoid them and I keep telling her that I busted out those maternity leggings at like 10 weeks and never looked back haha! No way could I make it into the late week 20s of pregnancy without maternity pants especially, but that might just be me!

  • @PSUBecky23 I want my DH to be the one to tell me, too!  I'm assuming the OB will do the actual catching, but I have this idealized version of DH bringing the baby up to me and saying "Meet your son/daughter!"

  • Haha I guess I have no faith in DH during the process. I honestly feel he is going to faint.
  • @KristinUM12 that's the type of joke my husband would play on me. Hopefully no one puts that in his head.

@Jabreen it's such a sweet picture in my head. But also something that I think only happens in movies.

@mom2adoodle we took a freaking childbirth class. With emphasis on your support person and how they can help/guide you through childbirth. My husband was like a freaking dear in headlights when it came time for him to actually be my support person. He better step up big this time.

  • @PSUBecky23 - my husband also struggled with being a good support person. When I was still laboring at home, I was screaming through the pain of the contractions and I think he had a bit of a panic attack with each one. It is absolutely horrible to be dealing with contraction pain and at the same time having to comfort my husband and assure him things are ok before he completely losses it.

I have a question about full panel maternity pants...if you fold the panel down, does it make it stretch out permanently and not fit right in the future?

I'm assuming not since the biggest part of my belly is much bigger than the part of my lower belly/upper hips the band would be folded down around (so it would be getting stretched out more during normal wear with a significant bump), but I'm not sure and the uncertainty has been driving me crazy the entire time I've been in maternity pants.

The full panel is too short for my long torso now that my belly is bigger (before it just barely covered up to the bottom of my ribs) and it tends to slip since it's sitting right at the edge of where my stomach starts to taper down.  I'm thinking folding the panel and wearing it below my bump might help make them more comfortable, but most of my pants are expensive designer ones and I don't want to ruin them.

@AnnaS930 - Ugh yes. The tailbone pain is real! I have a yoga ball under my desk that I generally don't use to sit on but instead use to put my feet up on. Since it moves so much though, I invested in a footstool for under my desk. It's one of the ones where you can take the top off and hide stuff in it. My tailbone still hurts but my feet and legs are much more comfy today!! I have a coworker though who sits with her legs spread out to either side of her chair. She says it relieves the tailbone pain. She's right, but I can't bend the way that she does and be comfortable for very long!

  • It's nice to hear that DH isn't the only dude out there who can't necessarily be trusted to provide optimal support/help during labor. We actually discussed the possibility of him NOT being present at all during the birth. I was gung ho with the idea but he said he might regret it. And I might too. If he has a panic attack or faints at least my doula will be there. And I'm paying her to be trusted LOL.

Yesterday I taught him what side of the diaper was the back/butt part so that's positive...I guess....LOL

@UnwritteN12 aww! At least he had the patience to wait for the babies to kick! That shows you how much he's been looking forward to it. My DH won't even try anymore *sigh*. He's never felt her and I've felt her on the outside about 3 or 4 times. He won't give it a chance anymore and just says he'll be sad and disappointed if he can't feel her but it's starting to feel like he just doesn't want to take the time off of his phone/tablet. Ugh. I'll tell him when she's kicking hard and he passes every time.
This started happening with my hubby too where he got frustrated he couldn't feel it. I kept telling him when the baby was kicking and had to tell him to the patient because he only gives a few hard kicks every once in awhile. But he finally felt one! Just wait until they're definitely hard enough for someone else to feel. I think I could feel them outside cause I knew when it was happening but they finally got hard enough that he could feel them. Hope he feels it soon!

This is me, I tend to be better with the painting and not as good with the sewing. I have SOOO many things I plan to make and I need to reel myself in. I finally purchased my etsy bed set, what I really like is that since it was made by a real person with fabric I can find other places online. I decided to get the main pieces and then I will buy the same fabric to make smaller things like a changing pad cover, throw pillow, burp cloths etc.

The etsy shop I found had a 15% off coupon and I got a patchwork blanket, a crib skirt and a fitted sheet for 120 with shipping. Which was pretty good. I even could change out one of the patchwork patterns for another one.

Now just to work on the other paintings I have planned.....

  • @MojieJo - I've only bought cheap maternity jeans/pants so I'd be less concerned about ruining them, but I don't think folding down the panel is going to stretch them out too much.. mine stretched over my 41 week belly last time, and still had enough elastic to fit me with my tiny 15 week belly this time.. and like I said, they're cheap!

@KristinUM12 - this is exactly why I wouldn't want my husband to announce. He might consider joking, and I'd second guess him and ruin the sweet moment either way.  He promised me he wouldn't smoosh any cake in my face at my wedding, and of course.. he smeared some on me because "our brother-in-law convinced me to!" Ugh.

Same! What's annoying about it for you? Mine is the constant comparisons between our sizes cause we are only a week apart.

@MojieJo personally I don't use the full panel to its fullest - I fold it down halfway bc it is soooo itchy! Especially as the weather gets warmer, I can't stand it covering my whole belly. I haven't noticed that it gets more stretched out, if anything when I put it in the dryer it goes back to normal if not smaller bc of the spandex
