Is there a way to tell what store diapers (name brands like Pampers or Huggies) came from? I'm pretty sure I have way too many size 1 diapers (due to my own stockpile before I started receiving them as gifts), and I would like to exchange some for a different size.
If you have a Walmart where you are you can take them there to exchange them

Another random: my dog, who is about 18 months old (aka still a bit of a puppy) and a border collie mix usually runs around and plays in the afternoon- hell shove toys in my face, politely demand to go outside to chase birds or pee, he'll heard the cat or just bark at our neighbors for being rude enough to walk to their front doors. today, nothing. He just follows me around, lays down with me. I've been really tired today so I've been on the couch (a few back pains but nothing major) and he even walks me to the bathroom. It's like he's on mama watch today. It's starting to freak me out. I don't think he's sick, I'm thinking he's noticing something about me that I haven't picked up on.
This!! My dog has been doing the same thing for the last two days. Today he even decided he was going to nap with me ON my belly (which is fine because he's little), but it's really weird. Hopefully, it means something has started

My guy didn't let up until my husband came home! Even my mom said they probably are recognizing small changes that happen before labor. He was the reason I took a test all those months ago- he stopped jumping on my belly and it made me wonder.
So I had my appt today and the doctor came in saying, "So this is the girl that likes to go 42 weeks." (It's in my chart that if I am late, I would like to go to 42 before an induction). I said, "Well, I wouldn't like to." He measures my belly and then looks at me and says, "I think at around 40, we'll be done with this."
Ummm....excuse me, no. I've only seen him one other time and the 2 other women dr's (who I normally see)have been amazingly supportive with my decisions. Now I'm scared that he will be the one around towards the end and possibly deliver. I can just tell he's one of those old school ones who want things his way or the highway. Ugh. You are not going to tell me that "we" are going to be done with this. YOU are not the one carrying the baby. thanks.
@kami09 If anyone can put him in his place when the time comes, I'm sure it's you! But for your sake when it matters, I hope you get one of the other doctors.

I get so emotional and excited when a regular post on the baby announcement thread. I don't even know you people lol. jk sort of. Maybe I'm just feeling mushy this morning but you all have been there in ways family and friends haven't been able to be. I just really value our time on this board, our pregnancies, and now seeing your LOs it feels very full circle.
For me the last 8 months have also been a cultural experience. Seeing how other ladies from other parts of the world goes through similar stuff differently etc. I learned so much, and not just pregnancy and baba related.
I also love seeing the regulars' announcements. Can't wait to see everyone's babas. Fills my heart.

Ok, this is weird. I've been getting worried about my dog--she seems lower on energy lately. Just content to snooze rather than play. I wonder if they are just reading us/sensing the pregnancy and responding by being calm?

So I randomly googled "what makes your water break" and it turns out no one really knows for sure but they believe there's a biochemical change that causes the membranes to slowly weaken until they break. If dogs can smell cancer and seizures and stuff, couldn't they also smell the beginnings of this reaction?
Halfway through the first day of weekend bed rest and I'm already bored. I'd like to take a nap, but LO isn't cooperating and is keeping me awake.
I'm all netflixed out. Anyone have recommendations for a good romance or mystery story that isn't super long or complicated? My attention span is at an all time low right now no thanks to all these BHs and the fact that I'm pretty much in some form of pain no matter what position I put myself in....at this point l&d can't come soon enough. Gah.
I wish my swollen feet would cooperating with my nesting. I got the kitchen completely re-organized and cleaned but now my feet are huge and it hurts to stand or walk. Guess I'm not getting any more cleaning done today

My feet and legs are so swollen, too! Currently have them propped up with compression socks on.

Audible has podcasts now with mystery short stories. Also Gillian Flynn wrote a short story. I forget what it's called but it's only 64 pages and really good.
I finally reached the point where I don't think I can safely wear my wedding ring without swelling keeping it from potentially getting stuck. A day before my due date isn't too bad for that, though!

Have you watched Miss Fischer's Murder Mysteries? I love them.... set in 1920's Melbourne. The clothes are fabulous and the men are quite nice too. There's a bunch of episodes.
If you like grittier mysteries, Luther and The Fall are really good too.
If you have Amazon Prime, Catastrophe is fun and light-hearted.
I just got a prenatal massage! It was so amazing! I hesitated because I got one when I was 37 weeks with my first, and it was so mediocre because she was afraid to touch me I think. I basically floated away. When I was driving home I was just daydreaming and spacing out and was like I need to pick up some beer... Then reality hit me, but to feel not pregnant for a minute was nice!

@mslan I finally watched Gone Girl a few months back and was like whoa - have been meaning to get Gillian Flynn's other books for ages, just haven't gotten around to it it. I'll definitely look into the short story you mentioned!
@kakip You're the second person to recommend Miss Fischer's to me! I'll check it out for sure. About a week or two ago I watched the BBC production of And Then There Were None and now I'm finding myself into all things 20s/30s era...

Be grateful! Mine has taken to marking his territory EVERYWHERE (he is potty trained and never has accidents). He and my female will not leave my side. he has also taken to ripping the fur off his back. This all started in my 3rd tri. There is nothing wrong with him other than his nerves from the hormones I'm letting off and his instincts. It's weird.

DH is getting desperate. He bought me pineapple, dates, and just ordered me spicy Thai food I'm not gonna complain about the Thai food though
I think my DH barely even recognizes how pregnant I am. He hasn't done anything (other than put the crib together) for this baby. I know it's our 4th but I wish he would put in a little more effort or interest.

If that is the case, I think you'll love Miss Fischer!!! She's really sassy.

Aw geez I'm sorry I hope he makes more effort by your due date!
This is our first one so DH is really ready to hold him. He's jealous I've had the baby all to myself haha.

I remember him being like that with our first! I'm glad your DH is excited. I know mine is excited or will be excited when it's time to head to the hospital. His head is just always up in the clouds.

It's called the Grown Up. And if you liked the movie, you'll like her books because I personally thought the movie was horrendous compared to the book.

You guys. Y'all. DH brought home a sampler box of cheesecake slices from Cheesecake Factory. I'm elated - I don't think there is enough room in my stomach to stuff in as much as I want to eat but I'm going to try!
