This is for all the people that said "it's not" because the only thing that led me to believe it was twins, was a feeling of knowing, and 2 dreams about twins, one of which I dreamed of before I found out that I was even pregnant:
Because twins run rampant in my family on both sides, (I was supposed to be a twin as well, my dad was a twin, and we have three other sets in the family.) I had my first prenatal appointment today and she said that I'm 6 weeks, measuring a whole MONTH bigger. She said the only 2 things it could be is extra amniotic fluid which is unlikely this early, or 2 babies. My ultrasound is on the 30th and we will know for sure. I'm already showing.
The only thing I know right now, is that I am definitely having a c-section due to my bone structure, just like my mom.
I believe you posted that thread in the "multiples" board, not the first trimester board. People weren't saying it wasn't twins, they were just explaining that at that point in time it was impossible for you to know until your appointment and your "showing" is merely bloat regardless of having one baby or more.
Also just to add, all of the women on that thread were very kind to you and hoped that you would get your wish of multiples and to update them whenever you find out. So I find this thread very odd.
You still have no idea if it's multiples. I'm measuring ahead as far as my uterus size goes as well and guess what? Just one. Only an ultrasound will tell you.
And the snotty attitude? Very offputting. You won't make friends here that way.

I find it interesting your doctor was measuring you already when it is only bloat at this time. Yes, it's possible for you to be pregnant with twins, but we were just letting you know to not go buy matching cribs just yet. If you do have twins, then that's amazing! Twins are definitely a double blessing. But if it's not, you're just setting yourself for disappointment when there's no need for it. I suggest if you're going to be a more active member to join your birth month board and connect with others who are on the same time line as you with pregnancy. You can compare symptoms, aches and pains and perhaps bond with them. H&h 9 months.
So basically what you're saying is: you still have no idea if you are having twins, yet you think it's appropriate to come finger wag people and tell them they're wrong. Sure.
This cracks me up, sweetie your bloated! I didn't start measuring any larger with my twins until 12 weeks, and I delivered at 34 weeks measuring 56 weeks.
I hope you realize what all twins entail. They are not fashion accessories so I don't understand why people wish/want them so bad. Don't get me wrong I adore my twins but I don't think people like you that desire them so much really understand the amount of possible health issues you are wishing for.
#1 - your original post was on the Multiples board. So coming on here to tell everyone that we were wrong, when we never even saw your original post, is rude. Also, many of the women who posted in response to you were very nice and even agreed that their intuition was right when they found out they were having twins and asked you to come back and update them. So I'm not sure why you're so upset.
#2 - you still don't know if you're pregnant with twins. This post is a little pre-emptive. It would be more compelling if you actually had had an ultrasound that had shown twins.
#2 - it's lots of fun to guess what's going on in your pregnancy with your SO or friends (is it twins? boy or girl?). But internet strangers don't care. I'm sure the people on the multiples board get posts several times per week from women who aren't having twins but think they are. I'm sure that gets tiring. It's like when people post on here about how they think they're pregnant but they don't have a positive pregnancy test. No one knows if you're pregnant or not if you don't have a positive test. No one knows if you're having twins or not if you haven't had an ultrasound. And none of us are really invested in the outcome except for you... That is why you're getting the response you're getting.
First of all, the fathers side has nothing to do with twins. Literally every person on the fathers side could be a twin and it wouldn't have a thing to do with whether or not y have twins.
Second, why is your doctor measuring your bloat? I'm pretty sure you could measure me right now and I'd be about 20 weeks I get so bloated through the day. At six weeks, the baby (or babies) are the size of rainbow sprinkles...not exactly big enough to make a difference in how you measure.
Third, there's no need to be so rude. No one on the multiples board was rude to you, we simply pointed out that there's no way to know if you're pregnant with multiples until you have an ultrasound. So you still don't actually know anything more than you did in your last post.
I don't know why you're wishing to hard for twins. I'm having spontaneous twins and I'm so nervous about all the potential complications and possibility of having micropreemies etc and I'm carry the least risky kind of twins. First things out of my OBs mouth was, "Okay I have to give you my scary twin speech". Sure it's amazing, and a blessing but it's also high risk, not always a walk in the park.
You still have no idea if it's multiples. I'm measuring ahead as far as my uterus size goes as well and guess what? Just one. Only an ultrasound will tell you.

Why are you all so bitter? You're almost coming off jealous because you're probably too old and dried up to have a child of you're own or maybe you've lost twins. I understand. It must be miserable trying to conceive and having to chart everything, I didn't even have to. Again, I understand your bitterness. There's no other valid reason for you to be attacking me over the internet- I measure a whole month bigger, and this Doctor, who has been doing this for 25 years, said it very well could be based on twins running on both sides, and I'm measuring a month bigger. She said she could FEEL my uterus, it wasn't a bloat. I asked.
qfp.
i have no words. I hope you are far more mature in real life than on the Internet.

Yah I'm 1 week post partum. And I know for a fact that several of the other posters are currently pregnant... Nice try though. You're intuition really isn't as good as you seem to think it is.
Also YOU are the one who came and just made this random attack.. you're not even on the correct board AND you don't even know that you're having twins.
Honestly, you sound like you're having a really hard time in life right now, I hope things get easier for you. And if you are in fact having twins I hope that you are prepared for all that entails.
Why would we be bitter or jealous of someone who is making life decisions based off of dreams??? (Fyi, this is from someone who actually has twins and didn't just dream them up.)
Even at 6 weeks, your uterus is still behind your pelvis... So either you misheard your dr or she's a freaking quack job and you need a new one. Or you're a troll and need to go away.
I wasnt going to comment, but then you decided to attack other women, claiming that we are all old and dried up and jealous.. BS. It is SCIENCE that says you don't know if it's twins until your first u/s. I had a strong feeling there was a possibility I was carrying twins. Guess what? It's only one. And I'm actually a little relieved because of the fact that it automatically puts you at a higher risk of your babies being premature (not to be confused with actually being diagnosed as a high risk pregnancy).
Go tell your BMB about this. You're seriously making yourself look like a fool and an idiot to a bunch of women who were merely trying to help you not get your hopes up.

Hey @ialreadyloveyou- I'm one of those miserable & charting everything TTC girls. Coming out of lurking to say WHAT. THE. FUCK.
This is the most hateful thing I've ever read. You sound like a truly awful person. Also - it sounds like you have it all figured out, so maybe you should take your shitty attitude elsewhere.
Me: 28 | DH: 31 Together since 2006 | Married May 2015 TTC #1 since November 2015 BFP 5/17/16 | EDD 1/27/17 | Born 2/4/17
OP, This is a load of crap, if your OB was also so effing sure that you were having twins why didn't you have a U/s for the high risk pregnancy you want so badly. Hopefully someone can talk some sense into yourself or at the very least your incompetent OB.
Also if your OB is so experienced you would have been informed that twins running in the dad's side of the family doesn't mean that much. You just proved that your an even bigger liar, or your OB is a complete moron.
@ialreadyloveyou everyone on the 1st Tri board is too old & dried up to have children, eh? 9/10 ladies who post on this board are pregnant. way to use whatever brain you may have. the only bitter one here is you, & after that disgusting response, i seriously feel bad for your future child/children. I've never even thought to say that to anyone on this forum before, but towards you, i sincerely mean it. smh.
FFFC a day late... I had dreams and intuition that I was pregnant with a unicorn and that this would be on my u/s. I was a tad disappointed until I saw I had 2, human heartbeats in my uterus (that was still below the pelvis at the time). I guess it was for the best as I don't even know what a unicorn eats and trying to bf would have given me an unwanted nipple piercing.

. Re: your other comment, go kick rocks in flip flops.
OP, how old are you? You sound like a bratty 15 year old trying to have babies because "they will always love you"...since clearly nobody else could for long with an attitude that ugly. I'm genuinely curious as I find it particularly appalling that you would say half the crap you did if your own mother lost your twin, and I can't imagine how anyone out of their teens could possibly be that ridiculously immature and thoughtless. I mean really, what a heartless piece of crap you must be!
Oh, and congratulations on getting knocked up without trying. That's truly an accomplishment literally nobody else in the history of pregnancy has ever been able to achieve. I mean really, you totally deserve your own holiday.
Oh!! I also want to add that I didn't have to chart or temp or track anything in order to get pregnant. (and to those who have tracked/temped/charted to conceive, you ladies are legit my heroes because I/ve done my research and it confuses the sh!t out of me!!). I "got lucky" on my honeymoon... I really hope you're just a troll and not really this peachy in person.
