  • Anyone else get annoyed by the randomness of different babysizers? I'm 35 weeks today and the bump says LO is the size of a coconut but weighs 4.2-5.8 pounds and is 17-18 inches long. Ovia says LO is the size of a kid's backpack or perhaps a bunch of carrots? And then babysizer says LO is the size of a baseball glove?

I for one have never seen a coconut 18 inches long or one that weighs almost 6 pounds. I have also never seen a bunch of carrots that big! Lastly a coconut and a baseball glove, at least in my mind, don't seem to be that similar in size at all. So which is it?
I've said this almost my whole pregnancy! I don't know what grocery store the people shop at because I've never seen most of the food the size they say. Last week, 30 weeks, the bump said the size of a cucumber and said around 15-16 inches. Cucumbers I get are never that size

My favorite was sometime in the mid-20s weeks, when the baby was "the size of a small pot roast."

@tgortney - I just met someone who is 18 weeks pregnant and was asking me questions about when I finally felt better. I felt like a pregnancy veteran. I'm so jealous of ladies on this board and my friends who are even just one week ahead of me, but when I hear someone tell me they are just getting out of their 1st trimester, I thank my lucky stars that I'm not there anymore.

Yes! My friend just texted me a few weeks ago saying she was pregnant. I believe she is around 11 weeks now and was asking me all these questions... I'm like... wow, thank GOD I am far beyond that stage now. Except.. can someone tell me what BH feel like? ;)
@missnc77 yes!! Pregnancy veteran! I like that lol my best friend has been asking me all kinds of questions and I've done so much research with this pregnancy that I'm like "here, let me show you the ways"

@kp90 maybe you should take a look at the new 5 posts on BH on the first page ;)

@dshannah yes! I agree. That huge banner annoys me, I feel like it's mocking and jinxing me
  • @missnc77 I am so jealous of your 5 weeks left. I have seven weeks and 3 days left to go, and right now, while I have heartburn and LO is jammed into my ribs again, it feels like so much longer :(

Berries always seem to do the trick for me-- blueberries especially, either in fruit or juice form.

  • Is anyone else dealing with really bad snoring? Any solutions for this FTM?
  • kp90kp90 member
Yes. I never used to snore and now I also wake myself up from it sometimes or SO's laugh will wake me up and I know I have been snoring again. -_-
  • @kp90 @LadySamLady I already use a snore guard but now it's out of control. Lol I wish my hubby was laughing but he's just irritated at this point...
  • I haven't noticed snoring yet, maybe I do. But I have started drooling. Very strange for me.

My go to is water water water...so much water.  It really does seem to make a difference.

Depends on whether you want drugs or not and how constipated you are (like when did you last go). Water is always number one, prunes work a treat too (lots of fibre and natural stimulant for the gut). You can also try some docusate as a softener if you want some drugs.
  • I don't know about snoring, but I've noticed that if I wake up on my right side, my jaw tends to be really sore in the morning and I need to sort of almost pop it back into place. I must be sleeping really weird on that side...but it's also the only side I can fall asleep on. I'll be wide awake for hours if I lay on my left.

Also, am seriously side-eyeing the drama on a certain other thread...I almost want to call MUD, because seriously?!

Yes. I am snoring like a 300 pound lumberjack. My own snores wake me up sometimes. I try to prop myself up with pillows but nothing helps.
Haha I have totally woken myself up with crazy loud snores ! There is a first time for everything especially during pregnancy .

Do any of you ladies have tricks to reduce swelling? And yes I try to prop them up, I have tried compression stockings and socks and j drink a lot of water. I am losing my mind!! I'm going to try to cut out sodium but literally EVERYTHING has sodium. I am at my wits end and all the remedies the doctor has told me are not working. I just want relief. Ahh.

I wish I had suggestions for you, but I'm in the same situation now  (and it happened last pregnancy too). All of those things have helped the swelling to not get suddenly worse, but it is steadily increasing and not going away overnight. I took a bath last night which helped to relieve some of the discomfort so that I could sleep well at least. I hope you find some relief.

@kbrands7 thank you. Glad I'm not alone in my misery. Mine also does not go down over night. They just get worse in the evenings to the point they feel like they're burning. Baths and showers help the pain but definitely not the actually swelling for me. Maybe we should try some ice packs? Worth a shot.

My yoga instructor suggested the "waterfall" pose: lie on the floor with your butt up against the wall and your feet resting on the wall for half an hour once a day.

Second this . I do just about everything recommended and nothing really seems to help . But I do agree the bath does give some relief . I think we are all going to have to endure the puffy feet until these babes come out .

Same here. I am down to two pairs of flip flops I can wear and I bought a pair of slippers for work. I get some dirty looks but screw em. My fingers are so swollen when I wake up in the morning I can't even grip my one cup of coffee.
  • I just used Mama Mio lucky legs cooling leg gel for the first time tonight. Can't say yet if it is reducing the swelling, but it did take away that super tight feeling. And it smells nice ;) I've read that Burts Bees makes something similar too.
  • I've taken to actually sleeping with my feet elevated to help relieve the swollen ness. If info it, my feet are usually okay by morning.
