Anyone else have an oil slick on their hair all the sudden? I've noticed it the last couple of days and been really conscience of not applying conditioner where it's been an issue. But this morning I go to straighten my hair and it's horrible. Oily and kinda sticky. Pregnancy thing??
So, last night after trying to relieve my swollen feet, get my returned nausea under control, and just generally being exhausted, DH asks jokingly if we can keep LO in longer than full term because it just really hit him that we'll have a newborn again...ummm...no. If you want to keep him in there longer than the 39/41 (depending on rcs or vbac) that the doctor is giving me, then you carry the next one!
@wsgjmw1 Puffy. I wish mine were just 'puffy'. That seems like such a cute word. Mine are more like 'hideously enlarged, elephant feet' that burn constantly. But I think most of you ladies are right... seems like we may just be stuck with certain issues until we give birth. Yay. I am going to try to watch my diet and cut out sodium... but then I'm like.. what the heck am I going to eat? Everything has sodium. Except fresh produce and I surely don't have the energy to cook fresh every night! Ah, the struggle.
I just used Mama Mio lucky legs cooling leg gel for the first time tonight. Can't say yet if it is reducing the swelling, but it did take away that super tight feeling. And it smells nice I've read that Burts Bees makes something similar too.
I have the Burt's Bees leg and foot cream. It gives you that same minty tingly feeling like their chapstick does which feels awesome. However, combining that regimen on my legs with the cocoa butter on the bump and I leave the bathroom smelling like a peppermint pattie.

haha thats funny you think that! i guess 'puffy' to me is not cute at all, when the only shoes i can put on these days are MEN's XL flip flops from the drug store!

DH has been hoping I will go past my due date since things got real in december. and im like ummm NO. now he is forbidden to speak those words after i had a meltdown a couple weeks ago. i know he was joking but it seems so cruel to me, with him knowing how miserable and uncomfortable i have been. in my fit of rage i think i told him he could carry the next LO for 50 weeks! LOL

Yep. Burning elephant feet is a great way to put it...though mine are swollen pretty much up to the bottom of my bump at this point. The feet/ankles are still the worst part though. If it makes you feel any better, I eat tons of fresh veggies each day and it hasn't made a difference. Salads and roasted veggies just don't make this go away, so don't feel bad about conserving energy cooking. I'm sticking with mostly fresh stuff for the sake of my toddler at this point, otherwise DH and I would be eating whatever I had the energy to put in the microwave.

Over the past few weeks my hair has definitely changed...it looks unwashed by the end of the day. As in, haven't washed it in days unwashed. Also my nails, which were beautiful in tri 2 are now weak and breaking all the time.
A friend of mine had a baby the other day and posted a pic on facebook and OMG SO CUTE I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GOING TO HAVE ONE OF MY OWN IN A FEW WEEKS!!!!!!

this happened to my hair a few months ago. I switched to clarifying shampoo and even tried mixing in some baking soda with my shampoo a few times to help me degrease... it seemed to work fairly well if you want to give it a try. I also only put conditioner in the very ends of my hair.

My hair has been noticeably more greasy lately as well. I'm not sure what to do about it though!

I swear washing it infrequently cuts down on greasiness, but hair type plays a factor. Dry shampoo is a life saver.
Is it time to start a new random thread or is that overkill?
Maybe a new one in April?
I think someone mentioned this before that we would start a new one in April and then another new one in May. Can't remember where that was at though...
@JessicaB0627 I haven't noticed much oiliness but have noticed my curls are going flat a lot and won't take my hair products like they used to... I only wash my hair every other day due to dry scalp, but it's annoying I have to keep it in a tie almost daily now

Yesss! I switched shampoos a couple weeks ago to ones with tea tree oil or a citrus kind and it has helped so much! I don't feel like I have an oil slick anymore. My hair has bounce, shine and volume again

I've gotten this at the beginning and on of pg (I did with DD1 as well). I swtiched to Tea Tree shampoo and used leave in spray conditioner but only sprayed my ends. Sucks but does go away after birth.

1. I have so so many things to do tonight but the only thing I want to do is go to the container store and buy bins for baby's clothes to go in.
2. I just waited for a bus for fifteen minutes rather than walk three blocks.
3. I have clogged three toilets with my monster pregnancy poops. This week.
That is all.
ETA: I just realized I've taken the wrong bus.
Yesterday I pooped and my toilet clogged and out loud I said "oh cmon, it wasn't even that big". its like my intestines are nesting and cleaning everything out.
So I feel like a paranoid newby all over again.. But want some reassurance from you ladies. I ate a fried bologna sandwich tonight (I know.. Sodium, swelling, smart choice) but we need to grocery shop! Anyways... Now I'm all freaked out that I didn't heat it long enough and the whole listeria crap won't get out of my head. I'm so close I would hate for something to go wrong now. Someone please tell me I'm crazy and it's ok
@dshannah I'm right there with you on those monster pregnancy poops. Im astonished something so huge came out of me, and it gives me a little more confidence about the birth, despite that obviously coming from another area... Fortunately I have not clogged any toilets, but I've been afraid a few times.

I've eaten every single thing you're told not to eat while pregnant (except soft cheese). You'll be absolutely fine!!!

I've eaten all of that plus soft cheese and I'm fine, too. The risk is very, very low. But since there technically is a risk, it gets overblown.

It will be fine ! I have had a few shaved turkey sandwiches , runny eggs every weekend , even a few sips of wine !

DH has named my stretch marks Snow White and the 7 dwarves (because I have one that is big then 7 smaller ones) He told me I'm lucky it's not Jesus and the 12 disciples yet!!!!
@ayeshaohara Haha that's cute. But I need to say - 8 - you're lucky!! I have a tiger belly with at least 100! My DH calls it my pregnancy battle scars, so for that I am thankful. Makes us sound like warriors!! Which we are, totally...

Unheated turkey sandwiches are basically my lunch go to. Either I make my own or buy Subway/Jimmy Johns. I tried for like a week when I first found out I was PG to give it up but I missed them too much and figure if the meat is fresh I'll probably survive. I'm sure you'll be fine!
Ouch!! Sneezed last night and popped something on right hand side, muscular? Sore all night. Called midwife just for reassurance basically if no change in few days see doc. So I know it's totally ok and normal but why one more pain to make sleeping and moving that more difficult???!! Ladies hold onto your ribs when you sneeze!!!!!
Yesterday I fell on the sidewalk and landed on my hip in an attempt to avoid my stomach. LO was moving shortly after and I checked in with the doctor who said it sounded like everything was fine. Even after hearing that from my doctor I think I'll be anxious until our growth scan Friday afternoon and I can see that she's ok
Woke up in the middle of the night and it felt like my right kidney was dying. its probably punishment for finally figuring out a working sex position with DH. Jeez baby, can I LIVE?!
The main reason I am looking forward to ending work on April 22nd is that I won't have to put on a bra every day. I'm losing the battle big time.
******qbf******** Yes, the bra battles are never-ending. I thought I was good for a while and could make it with the band extenders only, but this week several days in a row now, I've been trying to make too-small cups work and the bra extenders are chaffing because the cups don't line up right. I actually ended up with a blister on my back from the extenders. Sigh.
