This is my first IUI cycle. They had me start Letrozole Day 3-7. I made the mistake of taking it in the morning and have been tired, dizzy, hot flashes and had bad headaches for the last few days. Thankfully. I am on my last day! I go in for an HSG tomorrow to check everything with me, but RE says they think everything is good with me. I have an ultrasound on Monday (day 13) to see how many follicles and have a ovidrel injection to take that day if every looks good. I am a bit nervous because I don't know what to expect with any of this. Any advice?

Update: last ultrasound my follicles shrunk so my cycle was canceled. I move onto higher meds 5 mg of letrozole instead of 2.5mg I don't have high hopes for this next cycle. My next cycle starts April 5th with a ultrasound and blood work
sweetscoop That sucks...I am sorry! I had that happen last cycle and the upped dose (skipping right to a new pretend cycle) didn't kick things into gear for me but I sure hope it works for you! The Dr. wasn't sure what had changed as I had pas cycles where I had mature follies. I know she went to check my labs from before to see if I should have been moved to injectables...maybe your dr might want to look at that too. She decided I didn't need injectables yet.
Did you get to jump bump straight to upped dosage or do you have to finish this cycle (wait for af) and then start over?

Hi All! I am new to this board, but wanted to join in. I am on my second round of IUI and just had the procedure yesterday. I was on clomid days 4-8 and was supposed to get a trigger shot, but got a positive ovulation test the day before. Ultrasound showed 5 good sized follicles. Husband has only 2% normal forms, but all other measures are good. Trying not to get my hopes up this round. Good luck to everyone going through this!
Thank you @bbkidz. I chose the month of May because the semester will be finishing up (I'm a professor). Also, the clinic has a waiting list. There are only 4 RE's in my city and one of them travels between two cities in my state. We'll probably pay the fee and start labs ASAP.

@kelrauh GL with everything!! Your first cycle is the scariest since you don't know what to expect....but I pray 1 IUI is all you need. The HSG was the worst part for me....not to freak you out since yours is tomorrow....but I've heard alot of ladies have no trouble. It was just bad cause the clamp hurt sooo bad and I bled for days after! My 1st iui my RE had to use the clamp again and that sucked....but since then I go to the iui with a fuller bladder, it seems to help with access to the uterus.

@BecauseLove@laur1212 I had a saline infused ultrasound done last week. They insert a catheter into your cervix and infuse saline into your uterus while doing a vaginal ultrasound. It was very similar to an IUI and was only a little uncomfortable. It was very neat to watch my uterus get filled with fluid! Hopefully yours goes smoothly too. @sweetscoop I'm sorry your cycle was cancelled. Hopefully the change in meds will get you back on track to start again. @kelrauh How was your HSG? I would say it has been the most uncomfortable test I've had so far in this journey but it is a very short procedure. I took some pain medication beforehand which is a really good idea. It gets better from the HSG! The IUI is much simpler than the HSG and only causes me very mild discomfort. @cmm012 I'm so sorry this IUI was not successful but it's good to have IVF to look forward to. I too have IVF scheduled for May (there's a waiting list). Best of luck to you!

Hi all! Happy hump day! Ok so BFP this morning! This is 11 dpiui for me. It was a light line but very clear. As soon as I looked down at the test after 3-5 mins I saw it. Then I ran crying to my husband and couldnt even get the words out but he figured it out! My symptoms havent changed much: still crampy with heaviness in my lower abdomen, some tingling like sharp pains in lower abdomen, started feeling extremely frisky on 9 dpiui, noticed some breakouts last night, and no sore bbs. My bbs are usually painfully sore about a week before AF and this month, nothing! Can lack of a symptom be a symptom?? Lol. I have a blood test on Saturday to confirm it with the RE. I am continuing to pray for all ladies in this crazy 2ww and beyond! Stay encouraged and hopeful!
I had the HSG this morning, boy that was painful (still is). I was expecting it to be much like menstrual cramps but it was beyond that, thankfully it was over fast and everything looked great. I am glad to read that the iui is not as painful. I am done with letrozole and feeling much better today. I have my first ultrasound on Monday, I am nervous and excited, thanks for the advice ladies! I had my IUI on the 7th. We did Femara, Gonal F, and Ovidril this cycle. It took a while for the follis to get there but I had at least two mature, and a ton of itty bittys. This IUI was much better than the last one pain wise, I went right back to work and made it through the day!
Unfortunately, now I've got crazy pain around my left ovary. I called the RE's office and they are sending me for an ultrasound. Probably a cyst. Not what I want to be dealing with right now. Oh well, I'm getting tougher.

Good morning ladies! I hope that everyone is having an excellent Friday. I am feeling pretty good. I go in for my beta tomorrow morning. The only new symptom I have is my bbs finally starting to be slightly sore. Thanks to everyone for the congrats. Ultrasound showed 1 beast of a folli (around 27mm) and a ton of 10mm ones (not that it matters). Super exciting after 3 cycles of no goes based on no mature follies.
They sent me home today with a trigger and we are set for an IUI #1 on Sunday! I don't know if I could be more excited. I had to drive 2 hours to the ultrasound and the whole way there all I did was do mantra's about getting ku'ed this weekend. Me and the hubby are going to go rent a hotel room and stay over Saturday so we are ready to go for the 7:30am start Sunday morning. I am super Irish and hoping the luck of the Irish is on my side this time.

@sweetscoop I'm sorry your cycle was cancelled. Hopefully the change in meds will get you back on track to start again.
@kelrauh How was your HSG? I would say it has been the most uncomfortable test I've had so far in this journey but it is a very short procedure. I took some pain medication beforehand which is a really good idea. It gets better from the HSG! The IUI is much simpler than the HSG and only causes me very mild discomfort.
@cmm012 I'm so sorry this IUI was not successful but it's good to have IVF to look forward to. I too have IVF scheduled for May (there's a waiting list). Best of luck to you!

I had the HSG this morning, boy that was painful (still is). I was expecting it to be much like menstrual cramps but it was beyond that, thankfully it was over fast and everything looked great. I am glad to read that the iui is not as painful. I am done with letrozole and feeling much better today. I have my first ultrasound on Monday, I am nervous and excited, thanks for the advice ladies! Good luck!!!!

They sent me home today with a trigger and we are set for an IUI #1 on Sunday! I don't know if I could be more excited. I had to drive 2 hours to the ultrasound and the whole way there all I did was do mantra's about getting ku'ed this weekend. Me and the hubby are going to go rent a hotel room and stay over Saturday so we are ready to go for the 7:30am start Sunday morning. I am super Irish and hoping the luck of the Irish is on my side this time.
It is so awesome to be able to share these experiences with other ladies going through similar things.

First Ovidrel trigger shot February 10, 2016
First IUI February 12, 2016 Negative
Started Letrozole 5mg round #1 February 23
Began additional Letrozole 5mg + Dexamethasone 1 mg March 8
Ovidrel trigger shot March 16
IUI #2 March 18 with progesterone suppositories beginning March 19
Positive HPT April 2 Praise God!!!
Estimated Due Date: December 8
