Hello Ladies!  March is just a few days away, and I don't see an IUI thread yet.  Please post here to share your experiences and questions if you are planning a March IUI.  I started meds in February (Femara) but my follies aren't growing well.  I'm back on Femara for 8 days with a potential IUI in early March.  Next ultrasound is March 7th.  Thank you in advance for sharing!

Hi @cmm012 , we have kind of a similar story with treatments. I tried an IUI in November where I had to take letrozole twice because the follies did not grow. That ended up as BFN, then I had to give a break to treatments to have HSG and then two more months of break becuse of my insurance. In the meantime, we are trying TI with letrozole. I will have my financial consulting with the clinic tomorrow and I hope the insurance will accept the IUI cycle. if this cycle is also not successful then we will start IUI cycle with my AF (in around 2 weeks).

Hi ladies! I just started Letrozole this cycle yesterday. I had tried Clomid for 4 cycles with only one successful ovulation, and my RE wanted to switch me. I'm really hoping the follies grow well with Letrozole! If all goes well, this cycle will be my second IUI in early March. My next ultrasound to check the follies is March 4. Praying for you both!

It looks like letrezole has some popularity this month.  I responded will to clomid, but the hot flashes were really bad for me. The femera gives my bad headaches though. Can't win. Thank you for the good wishes @bbkidz and @ZoeFer. I hope your next ultrasound shows good growth and that TI this month does the trick.

Insurance approved my iui cycle. I surely hope that i would get a BFP before that, but i do not have high expectations from this cycle. I am doing opk at homr for TI but i am a little confused about my cycle. So i will probably join you ladies once i get my AF.

Hi all, I posted on TTTC board but then saw this thread If everything goes well with my HSG and CT scan to rule out adrenal tumors, we are more than likely planning our 1st IUI in March (if AF cooperates) since DH has low morphology and I have all my issues. My question is about medications. Our insurance covers only 3 IUI's, so should I try Letrazole (I already tried clomid w/ TI and I responded ok), or go all in with the injectables, or are they a waste of money if Clomid worked?

@julieholz13 welcome and best of luck with your tests. I hope everything goes well.
What does your RE suggest for medication? Do they leave the decision to you? If they suggest injectables , i would go with that. 
My doctor is very concerned with ohss and multiple pregnancy risk so he wants me to try two more letrozole iui cycles. If they are both negative he said he could do 3 injectibles +iui cycles if i want to. But i have pcos and i usually show 20+ follies in each ovary in baseline scan so injectables are more risky for me i think. With letrozole i end up with one leading mature follicle. If these two iuis do not work, i would like to get one injectables+iui cycle to see how my body reacts to injectables before i move to ivf. Also, i do not have limit for iui coverage so it affects my decision a lot.

Welcome @juliehollz13 !  I've personally only been on clomid and femara.  No injectables.  I'm of the mindset that less is more.  I tend to worry about over-producing, so I prefer to the lowest doses of the least potent drugs.  I also ovulate normally and have unexplained infertility, so that might bias me a little.  I am oop for everything, and I still prefer oral meds since they seem to be working.

I will also be going for our first iui. I just finished letrozole today was my last pill I go back to my RE Tuesday for a scan. Hoping the meds are working and growing my follies. I am also doing trigger shot ovidril this cycle.

Welcome @juliehollz13  and @sweetscoop! I will be praying for you both! As for the question, I have only used Clomid for 4 cycles plus Ovidrel trigger and now this cycle am using Letrozole with Ovidrel trigger if needed.

Does anyone have suggestions for dealing with letrezole headaches? I'm having a difficult time over here.

I started Letrozol last week and go back in on the 1st for my mid cycle scan to check my follicles.  My right tube is blocked and my left has only produced once since we started in November. If all is well, we will do IUI. 
I started acupuncture a few weeks ago and that has helped me relax.  Working hard to stay hopeful

@cmm012 I used gravel and regular Tylenol and that worked for me for the headaches

Welcome @jodes727 and @sweetscoop ! It is ineteresting that everyone is using letrozole in this board, so far. 
@cmm012 I am sorry for the headaches, I always get headaches with anything so I can totally relate to your pain. My first two cycles with letrozole, i had headaches but it got better as soon as I stopped the medication. Last few cycles did not cause any headache but I am not really sure what I did differently except I am not as stressed as the first months of medication. Do you think it could be also stress related ? I am just making it up , sorry I do not have any practical advice. I hope the headache stops very soon and you feel better. 
Is anyone having a scan this week ? Let us know how everything is going.

It's CD 1 for me....ready to get this cycle going!! Letrozole 2.5mg cd 5-9 and then estradiol 2 mg cd 5-16.....my US is scheduled for 3/10....then if that goes well IUI #5 will be 3/12...Really praying this is the cycle!!! It's getting harder and harder each failed cycle

@LMart85 I am very sorry for the BFN from last cycle and I really hope that this is your month !
Does estradiol help with the uterus lining ? I am just curious about different treatments. Best of luck to you

@ZoeFer Yes...estradiol does help thicken the uterine lining....my lining has been okay but last cycle my RE added the estradiol to see if thickening my lining would help.

@zoefer I have been trying to keep hydrated, and that has been helping with the headaches. I have one more day to take letrozole, and then I'm done.  Hopefully they will fade when I stop the medication.  @LMart85 I hope everything goes well for you!

Hi all. I'm on IUI #4 on Clomid. My doctor doubled the Clomid this cycle because I have only had one good follicle each cycle before. He says we'll move on to injectables if this cycle doesn't take.

if I don't get an ovulation kit change by next Friday (3/11) I'll go back for ultrasound and maybe HCG trigger

So far letrozole only made my follicles grow a small bit 5 to 6 mm last Tuesday this Tuesday 8 to 9 mm. Going back to the dr tomorrow for i dont know what but I feel that I'm out this cycle

@sweetscoop The same thing happened to me. Doc had me take more Femara and I go back to see if my follicles grew. Before going back on the meds, I only had one that was measurable.

@sweetscoop i experienced the same thing during my first iui cycle. They increased my letrozole dose and i used 5 more days. Then i had one nice mature follicle. Dont be discouraged ladies , i know two ladies from the board who had to take two rounds of medication in same iui cycle and got their bfp s. FX for your next scans!!!

I am so nervous about my first IUI on Sunday.  I took Letrozole from cycle day 5-9. I had my HSG yesterday on cycle day 11 and it was extremely painful. My RE said that my right tube was fine but that he couldn't say with 100% certainty that my left was totally open. I felt a little confused after I left when I thought about what he said. I go Saturday for an ultrasound and to get Ovidrel and then I will go in Sunday morning for the IUI. 

I was originally told my my OBGYN that I had PCOS but my RE told me that she didn't believe that I did. My husband's counts were only 5.9 mil so I am hoping they have increased by then! Really hoping this works!!

@EhShea My HSG sounds similar to your.  I had two done, the fluid only went through 1 tube each time.  My doc said he was not worried about it though.  I hope that both of your tunes are indeed open and that you IUI is a success!  So exciting!

So i went back today for a scan I had 1 10.5mm and a 9 mm in my left and 2 9's in my right I go back Saturday and if they are still smaller then we will be canceling this cycle. I spoke with the dr in the parking lot and told him I'm covered for all meds and i dont pay a co-pay either all he said was oh really and said have a good day I will send you an email later.

@EhShea welcome to the board, I think it is a great place to share your experience and vent once a while. I tell my good friends that we are having treatments but I do not tell people daily (or monthly) things. They usually do not know what to do with that knowledge. Also, I feel like it increases the pressure for me because they are curious if it worked or not and I do not want to talk about it anymore because it is BFN. This is my personal experience but I am open that we are TTC and we are getting treatments. It feels better for me. Good luck with your IUI cycle !

@sweetscoop did your Dr. mention if you could take the second round of letrozole this cycle or do they want to switch the medication next round ? I hope the follicles grow nicely and you wouldn`t need to worry about these. FX for your next scan.

@msirni0 I am in a similar situation, though i had a TI cycle. but I am almost sure that I will have my AF soon , I am preparing myself for the IUI I surely hope that we both get our BFPs next week though GL !

Had my appointment today and I one good sized follicle. I'm disappointed b/c last IUI I had 3. Most likely trigger tonight with IUI on Sunday.

@EhShea I have been open to my parents and friends from the beginning about our fertility treatments....my mom and friends have been a great support system....even though they can't relate...they are listening ears
