Don't feel bad, I don't either. Actually, not only do I not have the nursery set up, there are walls torn out of the room at the moment It will get done.
I won't be able to start anything until we move, which could be next week to end of March, depending on if we can find an apartment in time.
I would love to see what other moms are doing for shared nurseries. DS and LO will need to share a room, so I've been trying to mentally prepare something.
Progress! All we need is a chair and some decorative touches
I keep seeing this canopy and fall more and more in love. Did you buy it or make it?
I still need a mobile. Are they necessary? I was thinking of making one myself but I'm not sure I'm crafty enough and/or if it wouldn't be cheaper/easier just to purchase one off Etsy.
$27 from bed bath and beyond with a coupon. I love that it makes DD2's room a little more feminine since it's much more neutral than DD1's.
As far as mobiles, I've made ones for each of the girls. I know DD1 still looks up at hers and points to the birds I sculpted and excitedly says bird. I don't think they're an absolute necessity though. I'm almost done with DD2's. I spray painted plastic safari animals and wrapped an embroidery hoop in yarn. Once I fix some of the animals I'll hang them from the hoop. Total cost probably $20. We're actually planning on having the mobile coming straight down from the center of the canopy.
@yodiggity the lantern is actually a kerosene (never been used) lantern I converted to a regular lamp - easy DIY!!
@Skcobb thank you so much! The wood is actually from an old barn at DH's family ranch - we did an additional frame on the wall so we could take the barnwood with us if we move.
Why are gliders so effing expensive... I'm having a hard time finding one that's a) tall enough for my back b) cute c) and mostly one that doesn't cost as much as a new couch.
Bump app has been hating me and I've been MIA since we don't have Internet at the new house yet. But, this happened this weekend - we have liftoff! Shout outs to my husband for getting the flooring finished just before furniture delivery, assembling the glider, and Grandma for purchasing the crib mattress on Friday!

Awesome! I have the same color scheme going on - gray with accents of blue and orange.
I'm looking to get a white dresser this week for the wee bairn. Does anyone have the ikea Hemnes or the Davinci Jayden dresser? If so are they working out for you?

This LO doesn't have a dresser yet but I want to say @thaisac1 or @jonesl12was looking into the Hemnes.
@RoseShadow873 It looks like @allaire314 has the 8 drawer Hemnes in her nursery. I have the 3 drawer one in DD's room and it has held up pretty well over the past three years. Occasionally the drawer screws will need to be tightened (twice in 3.5 years), but it's sturdy and drawers track smoothly. I'm planning to get another one for DD's big girl room.

Yes I remember someone mentioned the hemnes a really long time ago and that's why I was also looking at it, but I have heard mixed things about Ikea furniture so I'm hesitant, but it is quite a bit cheaper too. The only thing I ever bought there were some shelves but those seem harder to screw up than a dresser.
@AmadorRose I was indeed looking into it and it's a nice dresser! But I decided to go with an Oeuf one at the end. I know other ppl here got the Hemmes though and were happy about it!

Husband and I have the Hemnes set in our room, including both the 6 drawer and 8 drawer dresser. It's much nicer than a lot of Ikea furniture; definitely more solid (I think it might be actual wood, not just particle board), and the drawers are on rollers with a stop (so they pull out smoothly and easily, but never get all the way yanked out). We've been super satisfied with the whole set.
I have the Hemnes in my three year old daughters room! It's been great so far and we really like it! She has the coordinating day bed and vanity table as well.
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!

We got the Hemnes for LOs room. It's a PITA to put together but I love the look and it seems very sturdy. I have an IKEA dresser in my bedroom that's I've had for 6 years. It's been through 2 moves and it's still in perfect shape.
@thaisac1 orange is my favorite color and since baby's sex is a surprise, it's an excellent neutral we decided to throw some turquoise in to break up the gray. I'm excited to get more decorations in there and get sheets on the bed.
So, everyone has these gorgeous nurseries and it's awesome! But I feel like a slacker mom looking at them. So here's to all those of us who are still "in progress" (I don't have another bedroom, so LO will be on our bedroom for a while). We started putting LOs crib together today and realized we're missing parts (53 years and 5 kids will do that to you) and there isn't enough space where we were going to put it. Oh well....
@briterfly84 I think having a child running around to look after excuses slow progress. Not that you need an excuse, because I was planning on not doing a nursery at all, until Pinterest and hormones happened.
I feel left out lol LO will be in our room for the first 6 months and then will share a room with DD until we save enough to build a home. But here is what we have for him. He gets just a little corner even though DD had a nursery when she was born.

I did look into it and I decided to go with something different although looking back the size of that dresser would have been better because it's 6 inches smaller than the one I bought and I need every inch of space

Yeah we have the IKEA Hemnes - I love it! The height is perfect and the finish is so smooth. It's a very polished look and the drawers are nice and big. Can't speak to longevity, but so far I love everything about it, and you can't beat the price. We have some other IKEA furniture - the biggest piece being our entertainment center. Have had that a few years and no issues whatsoever.

I have the three drawer Hemnes dresser in the nursery. Our nursery is a little on the smaller side. I wish we could fit the 8 drawer but the 3 drawer has plenty of space. The drawer space is HUGE! On top I have a changing pad and a basket to hold diapers and wipes. I may change the configuration though because we haven't hung the peg board yet that my dad built and the intention of it is to hold things like diapers and wipes. I may replace the basket with a small lamp.
ETA: I have the white, not the white stain. The white one is a tinge more cream than white but it's gorgeous. It's also VERY heavy and sturdy. I agree that the height is perfect for changing diapers. No bending down for SO, I'm on the shorter side so whatever but SO is pretty tall.
@yodiggity has a good point!! The white is definitely cream/off white.
The white stain was a little too barn like for what we were going for. I think the off white is much nicer looking even though our crib, glider and trim is all white. It's not terribly noticeable.

Yeah, I was super not a fan of the white stain. (Just not my style)

@briterfly84 don't feel bad hun, this is my first and the only thing we've done is have the baby's room painted. The crib is not put together because it came damaged, so we're waiting for replacement pieces. The dresser and chair get delivered from Ikea tomorrow. I'm hoping to at least have the furniture together by next weekend because I'm sure people are going to want to see the baby's room. If not, oh well, I have 7ish weeks to get my crap together lol.
I went with the Hemnes 8 drawer which seems to be popular here lol. I got the white stain though with the thought that in the future we can re-stain or paint it another color if the kid doesn't want white furniture in his/her room.
Another Etsy find just arrived! Now just waiting for a friend to finish a painting he is doing for the nursery so I can hang all of the little things - the lyrics, the L and a couple of robot prints I got from Etsy also. Then I'll be done!

Etsy does have really cool stuff! It is too easy to buy a bunch of things! What shop did you get the robot L from??

Pictures are hung! We went a little crazy since At Home had so many choices and all but 2 were 50% off. There's still some hooks and the tree I stitched to put up between the doors, hardware to go on the dresser, front piece to go on the dresser top (if DH ever gets around to finishing paining it), and DD1's changing topper needs to be repainted the color of the dresser. I also have to finish the mobile, sew a crib skirt and make a pouf. At least we finally picked out a chair, it just needs to be ordered

Edited to add DD1 mobile pics
All set up in a slightly messy room... still need sheets for the bed, but waiting until after next weekend's baby shower before I buy anything else!
