@AmadorRose DS1's nickname is Thor. My family keeps joking that they'll nickname LO Loki, since, you know, brother of Thor.
That blanket is A-MAZ-ING. DS would flip!
Side note: My dog is named Loki. We're looking into getting him a companion, and everyone is pushing to name him Thor.. The name is fitting for the first one, he's 100% mischief, hoping that means that the second will be noble and grounded. Haha.

And if you go based on the Marvel comic book universe, populat with the ladies. Seriously, Thor got around in the comics... XD
Look look I have a crib now!!! Doing another painting on Thursday, but baby shower isn't until 2/13 so I'm really getting stressed about having nursery ready for LO Also doesn't help that we had a short month sales wise and can't get the dresser/changing table again this month. (Barely making rent tbh) but he's already up to half of what he sold last month, so we should be good pace wise. (Hopefully)

I actually have a question for STMs on here, but don't want to hijack the thread >.> Is that an ok mattress height for right now? I know it'll need to be moved down when LO can pull up to standing,
I'm asking because I've seen some pictures where they have multiple mattresses in the crib for added height, but that really doesn't seem safe to me...

That's perfectly fine. Adding more height is just seems lazy... We had the mattress set up as high as it could go in the beginning so it was easier on us lifting baby in and out of the crib. We moved it down early because we didn't want to wake up one morning to DS1 trying to pull himself out of the crib.
I just used gold contact paper meant for a cricuit, and I didn't even go through the entire $8 package. I told DH to keep his eyes peeled for deals on circuits, because I have a feeling I would absolutely LOVE having one!
Thank you! It's from Babies R Us.... Sorelle Verona Convertible Crib in Vintage Gray Espresso.
Still have a lot of work to do on his nursery. The room is so small it's like playing Tetris to fit the crib, chair and dresser in there and have it look okay.
I'm a FTM, but I know giving a baby a mirror to look at can be stimulating. I have a long mirror, I thought about mounting on the wall where the crib would be. So the baby can see the mirror through the crib slats instead of the wall. Thoughts?
Is this a dumb idea:

Not a dumb idea, but I wouldn't just because it will become a distraction pretty quickly when you want them to sleep. We leaned one of the full length door mirrors against our coffee table/couch for DD during tummy time and it kept her super engaged to play with herself by giving her reflection kisses, etc.

I have no idea as I am a ftm too but if it were my bed and I opened my eyes from a deep sleep, it would scare the shit out of me to have a person staring back at me. lol That's just me though.

Good point! Didn't think about it being too distracting for sleep. Yeah I think I'll just leave it for playtime or tummy time. Thanks!

Yeah that is a good point lol. I think I'll just get it out and lean it on the wall for playtime.
Slow progress. The room is painted! The bottom is this cool metallic paint that we did a faux hammered finish on. I'm debating going back and doing one more coat with just the sponge roller for a tad more dimension, but I love that it's really subtle and not oh my god sponge painting. DH built the desk/dresser top in the nook with a huge drawer. The dresser fits perfectly underneath. Hopefully this week I'll get that and the dresser pained peach. The plan is next weekend DH is going to paint and install the chair rail and then we can finally put the crib together
The floor is finally done in the nursery! SO woke up at 4am this morning (wtf?) and repainted the baseboards because he got stain on them. I may take that rug back. We're going to move the dresser into the room tonight and if SO isn't too tired maybe we'll go ahead and build the crib!! Yay!! I'm so excited! and it look awesome!!!
We are moving this week!! I can't wait to start on the nursery! I found out I'm not allowed to paint, but I don't know about nails yet. I'm hoping I can use nails to hang paintings and stuff. If I can't paint the walls, I'll paint canvases and hang them up. So much to do and so little time left! Ah!

Yay for finally getting to really start! I know you've been itching to be moved and get going on the decorating side. There's a bunch of info on temporary wall paper earlier in this thread or you can use the stick up acrylic appliqué things for other non-paint/nails options.
Be careful with some of those 3M command strip type hangers - my son had a Hot Wheels track mounted to his wall and when I went to take them off, I literally lost a chunk of the drywall. I've had success with some before, but this particular set was horrible and now we have to patch his walls.
@Bubbles3592@kimey1 removable contact paper is also awesome if you're crafty or find good ideas on Pinterest. It's super easy to use and I love the way mine turned out, as I also can't/won't paint a rental.
Was finally able to put the furniture together! We are doing s robot theme with bright blue and orange accents. My husband's BFF will make some robot art for the room (he's an awesome cartoonist)!
Still need to hang the curtains (turquoise blue), and waiting for stuff we ordered such as the glider chair (dark gray, will go between the mini library and the window, the orange pillow that is inside the crib will be on the chair), mattress, white star decals for the accent wall, and decorative stuff I ordered on Etsy.
Can't wait to finish the room and have my boy in there!

I put up some of the wall art, we got a crib mattress and I put up some tension rods for a "closet" since the room doesn't have one.
Also went in to BRU to inquire about the nursing chair I want - glad I did because apparently it's a custom order with a 10-12 week lead time! Yikes!

They have different styles/fonts/letters/states!
