With edd as 3/10, baby would be a couple of weeks old at Easter. If all goes well, I do plan to spend it with family, but don't have to travel more than a few minutes from home, and totally not freaking out about it.

On another note, a bunch of tb ladies had head colds over the last couple of months, my dumb face decided I should join that club! I'm soooo miserable right now, mouth-breathing and all. Any good home remedies for the congestion?

Not home and safe: sudafed.  Home: steamy bathroom, humidifier with peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils.
Thanks @skruhmin !! I've been doing the steam showers and it helps, but doesn't last long...I'll add the humidifier!

I second the eucalyptus essential oil and humidifier. Sudafed was my lifesaver and a big glass of water next to the bed to sip/chug at night when I alternately felt like I was chocking on mucus or like my throat was the Sahara. Chloraseptic helped when I could only breathe through my mouth and it made my throat hurt. Cough drops, I love Ricola. There were a few nights when I had to sleep almost sitting up, which helped a lot.

Ultimately I ended up on antibiotics, but I have to be honest...they are NOT helping yet.

  • Hallo, I haven't posted in a while, but have been popping in and out more in the last day or so. I wondered if at least one or two girls would have given birth by now (statistically speaking I thought someone might have), but looks like everyone's babies are staying in where it's nice and safe? This is one lucky board.
  • I ate an ungodly amount of Cheetos and I'm probably going to throw up....but it was probably worth it.

That's it. Next time I go to the store I am giving in to the cheese puff craving.
Whatever you do, do not get 365 brand cheese puffs when you really wanted Cheetos. I was sorely disappointed.

We have two girls (that we know of) who have already had their babies a few weeks ago.
  • Thanks @cmerribury !! I'll try some of that too! Hopefully I can ride this out without it getting worse and needing more meds,
  • My sister insisted we watch The Fault In Our Stars because my mom has never seen it. I personally ready the book twice and watched the movie once. It was horribly sad then but about 92282628404038 times worse when you're growing a small child.

Oh no. Are they doing ok? I guess I didn't look back far enough.

They don't post in this thread there is one girl who posted in the today I cried because thread a while back and another more recently in a thread that had something to do with being due March 25th. That mom and baby are okay I believe but I don't know if we got an update on the other two!

Today is one of those days... I feel like I should've stayed home and hid under my blanket.  The other county office closed today meanwhile we didn't even get a delay, so I had to drive out in the shitty snow storm to get to work.  It took me almost an hour.  Kids are being little assholes today- 2 high schoolers just ran outside and jumped in the snow because they didn't want to go to class. I'm so stressed- the police are already here doing a walk-through because no one wants to listen or go to class, and are disrupting state testing.  wtf

Soooo I think this thread was deleted AS I was reading it? Is it still there? Is my app just acting whack? I saw the thread when it first started but didn't check back to see OPs absurd reaction.

ETA: I am going to need a synopsis of the last page of this thread. Up to where I was, it was a little heated, but not delete-worthy.

  • @flowerpower5838 I fell asleep reading it last night and this morning it said discussion not found after the 3rd page. I thought I was going crazy and had dreamt that. Nothing was delete worthy on the first two pages so I'm really curious to know what happened.
  • Maaannnn I think the last thing I read on it before going to bed was a post where someone had recommended Echo and she was like great idea! And someone else said the fact that was suggested and considered was the worst part of all of this.
  • I slept like shit, still somehow managed to wake up late, I feel like a dog that has hip dysplasia, forgot to wear my glasses to work (wtf??), my hair is still wet and I look like a homeless person. OH and I forgot to wear my Fitbit (first world problems, I know) so I may as well not even get off my ass today, right??
Not going to lie I took off my fitbit a month ago on our couch and I think it fell between the cushions, and I've been too lazy to move the cushions to find it.  UGH the glasses thing would kill me.

  • @bntfroggie Not having my glasses is definitely my biggest annoyance today. I am not blind by any means, but I already have a massive headache from straining. I think I am going to go milk the pregnancy thing and go home a little after lunch so I don't have to take any time.

I really miss the days of the bump when threads didn't get deleted, people weren't all about the "rules", or tattling and crazies were allowed to spew their comedy. Good times. Partly why I'm not on here as much.

Sad I missed it. :( I went to look for it before I saw that yall posted it was deleted. Was she only looking for gender neutral names?

Yup! That's how far I got! Zapp and Echo were the suggestions and op loved them!!! :D

Her screen name had the word "feminist" in it, and she was saying that she only wanted gender neutral names so as not to saddle her kid with a common "girl" name and in case said child decided to transition to a different gender later in life. Good to be prepared, I guess, though I didn't bother mentioning that selecting a new name is a big part of a transition for most people.

Anyway, people were 1. bashing her for asking for "neutral" names which were really just man names for girls (not very feminist) and suggesting that she instead pick a famous/favorite feminist and name her daughter for that person, and 2. suggesting the MOST RIDICULOUS names ever...some were just beyond bizarre.

Pretty sure the OP had spent a lot of time experimenting with mind-altering drugs...if you know what I mean. I never made it to page 3, people were totally pissing me off and I had to put it down.

  • My boss called in sick today because of the weather.  I drove down to my work in complete lake effect. It was clear when I got here. By 11 am the band had followed me down here and now its pounding snow here and clear at home. Good thing I have a nice boss- I texted her and she is letting me leave early so I can get home before it gets worse :)  thank GOD

  • Uggg, I'm bored :(  I've been binge eating all day, watching movies, doing some paperwork, and essentially watching it be beautiful outside, thinking about all the fun my toddler and I could be having, except he's at daycare.  Bed rest sucks.  Really hoping my doctor tells me something good next Tuesday.  The crappiest part is not being able to have any confidence in my body anymore.  I'm quite certain I felt like this with my first, but now that I've had a preterm scare, I'm putting every little twinge under the microscope and worrying myself into knots.
  • Bored too. Sitting at my desk leaning back wondering how the heck I'm going to make it possibly 9+ more weeks. Everything from boss is urgent this week, my temp fill in is here training and I have 0 patience, my stomach feels like it's going to pop and realistically the butt of my pants actually has a chance of popping open. I was just thinking this morning how I was feeling surprisingly well, I should have known that never lasts more than 6 hours. I still can't comprehend there's a baby inside me they could probably live on its own at this point. Like, is this real life!?! My dr appts all seem like out of body experiences.
  • AND my husband left work at noon and picked up dd1 at daycare and went home, just because he can apparently. He's not responding to texts- jerk is probably napping!!!
  • @smushi Bed rest stinks. I'm sorry. :( I only had to do it for a little over two and half weeks with DS1 but it was still super hard. I hope you can find something that keeps you occupied!

  • @flowerpower5838I was on over Christmas break, then the doctor released me to go back to work, and I ended up having three super long days back to back and ended up in L&D on Monday again, so she told me back to bed rest.  Getting checked again on Tuesday.  And thank you for the kind words! (and @parker16772)

@alligreer88 Good luck with the temp training!  Tomorrow will be a new day, so here's hoping you have a very restful night (as good as possible in our situations lol).

  • I am either uncomfortable, irratible, or irrational 99% of the time. 3rd trimester at its best. I have nothing done for the baby. Like nothing at all and I only have approximately 7 weeks left.

  • @smushi sorry for the bedrest woes! It blows! Fingers crossed for you at your next appointment.

@Torpedogirl I too am in panic mode about my preparedness. All we have done is we have painted baby's rooms. It is still filled with non baby stuff no bags packed I have shopping to do. Panicking! Worst part is my work is trying to get everything done before mat leave so I have report cards, 3 I.E. Ps and progress notes to do all in the next 2 weeks. I have no time to do any baby stuff.

I totally feel the same way!  At this point I want to do things for the baby but can't.  I managed to get baby clothes washed.  Can't put them away- my parents have yet to bring me my dresser. Or my crib for that matter.  So I can't even get that bed made.  Can't put the car seat in the car yet- my shower is Monday and I'm going to have a big load of goodies to haul back home, and will need to fold the back seats down.  Only thing right now in my hospital bag is one pair of pajamas.  Don't even have the diaper bag packed- was told I'm not allowed to buy anything until after my shower.  So I'm stuck.

But my shower is Monday!  I don't have much longer to wait :)
