All I can say is holy crap to the fact that I only have 10 weeks until maternity leave (I'm allowed to take maternity leave up to 4 weeks before EDD - I decided 3 weeks before EDD is great!). I could have a baby in 10 weeks (if you go by the full term at 37 weeks). But seeing that DS1 was here 15 days early, holy crap that's under 11 weeks away! Oy!

I'm just so weirded out on the placenta topic. I'm probably over thinking it, as usual. In any case, to each their own but it's definitely not for me.
My whole thing is that it's already been inside you once, why would you want that again???
---qbf--- I think I over think it because it just seems like canabalism to me. Lol! It's a human organ, that you're consuming? Idk... I get so weirded out.
Catching up after a stomach bug (even across the ocean it runs this period) which i had together with DH (technically he isn't yet because we're getting married in August but did not know the short name for boyfriend and after 18 years it feels like he's my husband). Unfortunately for him, he had it much worse than i did. Although sick myself i felt really sorry for him...
@oceanchild; what a scare, good to hear your boy is doing fine!
@charley15;hope your cyst will disappear by itself..
About the cleaning and chores; i'm a little embarrassed to say i've got a lady who comes to clean every week...It's my best spend money of the week although...Besides that DH does most of the groceries and cooking. He's terrible at cleaning, doing laundry etc. A real man: i've literally have to tell him what to do and how. Sometimes i think he doesn't want to remember..;)
I wish that more of the inactive members of our bmb would use the appropriate boards to ask questions. I've been seeing a lot of new threads started up in the last few days. Lol I won't be able to handle the "how can I induce labor?" threads that I know are going to be starting shortly

Oh placentas. STMs - did you see yours when you delivered? I purposely avoided looking at mine. DH saw it the first time and was so grossed out, he made sure not to watch with DD2. Haha.

No but I had a c-section so I couldn't see anything at that time even if I wanted to. I am pretty sure DH was already gone with DS by the time they did all that. I am hoping this time to 1. that the baby can stay with me and not have to go to the nursery (I keep forgetting to ask my doctor) and 2. not to see my placenta..LOL.

Lol I've seen mine 4 out of the 5 times so far. Nope, I couldn't ever bring myself to eat that.

So for the placenta thing...soo gross. For dd I was still half out of it but what I did see they put it in a plastic contsiner. When I was helping my friend deliver her baby I didn't see much of hers either- they had a bag hooked to the bed so as soon as it was out it fell right in. She had one HUGE umbilical cord though.
Personally I would NEVER consider keeping/eating it. I agree it kinda goes back to cannibalism. Nope- not for me!
I tried going without percocet at noon- the directions are 1 every 4 hours as needed for pain. I was taking it every 6 with my antibiotic. I lasted until 4 (so 10 hours without it) but caved. Going bra less doesn't help the pain but it also hurts to put my hands over my head to get my sports bra on, and under normal circumstances if i don't leave the house i don't put one on.
Tomorrow is my glucose test and I'm nervous. I have been waking up at midnight and 3 am for food, and I'm talking full- blown hunger. I'm thinking of getting up just before midnight and stuffing my face, hoping that will help. Then afterwards I will be hitting Mc D's before I get to work!

I don't remember it second time - I think I was way too focused on trying to nurse my beast since he was so hungry. First time I remember it - it was HUGE! Like that fit in THERE?!? And yeah, gross. It's weird I don't even really remember delivering it either time.

This got me thinking, especially for those of you around a lot longer, what is THE MOST BSC thread you've ever seen. I have to say that one lady who was trying to find babies to adopt from women here was the most nuts. After that, the heartbeat sounding like a boy thread, the crazy flower name thread on Baby Names and the white-fingernail-thing-from-vagina thread were some of the most nuts!
Aww I'm kinda disappointed you said that. I thought you would have tales of some even crazier ones from a couple of years ago. You killed it with gifs in that thread though, I remember. Legit snorting with laughter.

Story y'all may enjoy. I have an acquaintance with two children and she's pregnant with her third. She always seems to feel the need to put me down in some way or one up me. I don't get it but whatever. Anyway between her snarky replies to my pregnancy things on FB/IG she posted about this wonderful app she found for her phone and how she can hear babies heartbeat whenever she wants. I snorted to myself. Yeah, you're an expert alright.

Hey ladies! Dh has gotten the stomach bug but I have managed to stay clear for now. Turns out DS has a bug mixed with food allergies. Yay! Not. He has had tummy issues for the last few month and the doctor has been brushing me off. Finally made them do blood work yesterday. The preliminary tests came back positive for milk, egg, and nut allergies. Stressed is an understatement. Any food allergy moms here?? I'm overwhelmed. We are doing the full allergy back test on Tuesday. Can't wait for that 3 hour appointment with my huge bump and my screaming kid.

Nnnnooooooooooo!!!! Ugh I'm sorry. The Spunky Coconut is a great cooking blog for those kind of allergies (although she covers gluten free too). Sun butter is a great peanut butter alternative. Flax meal can replace eggs. So Delicious Coconut Milk is the best dairy milk substitute (baking wise).

@mrspepper05 after seeing the blood splatter the OB's face when he had to yank my placenta out... yeah I didn't care to look further.
@jmathi0149 Oh gosh, glad you listened to your gut and made them investigate further. You can check out paleo recipe sites for baking substitutes or ideas (although with paleo a lot of things include eggs so be mindful), etc or auto immune recipes may be helpful too.
Ee gads someone halp! The kid has wedged suddenly in such a way that he's pressing sooo painfully against my right hip bone and apparently on my stomach too because the acid is spilling over!!! Lordy I don't remember this with DS. That one stayed head down the entire time.
@jmathi0149 lovetit was for you not being sick. Sorry your LO is not well! I'm sure it's so overwhelming for you but it will be manageable. I wish I could give better advice but hugs to you!! @MrsLeanMeanClean tell us more....I don't think I know about Butt Baby. Though I do remember one here I think about being double pregnant. That was hilarious!
Okay guys. I've decided that it's time for me to start taking college classes. I've put it off longer than I had intended so this fall, I've gotta start. But what do I major in? I had considered radiology tech, with a specialization in obstetric sonography, and then I found out that I could also get my fine arts degree with an emphasis on dance, which I also love... I don't want to work full time if it's not necessary, and both things sound good... What do I do? I feel like I'm way behind on life over here.
@2goofykids The biggest questions I always tell people in choosing a major is ask yourself, "What job can you get immediately once you're done with school?" and also "How available are those jobs in my area?" and "Is the pay in that job area what you would want to make/worth it?"

All of these things. Also, a great brand for cookies and baked things (that kids should be able to have) is Enjoy Life. I'm usually gluten free, not when preggo though, and there are so many resources. It sucks, but you will find things he can eat...promise.
@2goofykids I'm a designer, and I wouldn't spend money on a fine arts degree unless it's from a school respected for their fine arts reputation. It might be different with a focus on dance, but I've encountered a significant amount of snobby people and companies who exercise a lot of judgement over BFAs. with the costs of college courses and the ridiculousness of the student loan programs right now I think it's more timely than ever to really consider the practical ends of college courses before just dive in. Fwiw I have a bachelors of science, not fine arts, but I still got to take all of the traditional fine arts courses for my degree.
I always want to see my placenta! It's so amazing to me that that thing nourished my baby. But I am seriously not looking forward to pushing it out. Omg I remember last time, the baby was out and I was like THANK HEAVENS THATS OVER! And then a little while later my doctor was like ok, are you ready to push? And I was all WTF ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! NO MORE! And then ow. It was like another baby almost.
Also, never ever castor oil! Do. Not. Do. It.

I didn't actually experience the postpartum contractions until my 5th. I was so unprepared that I buzzed the nurse in like, umm what is going on? Is there another one in there or something? It was bad. The placenta, I only "delivered" my first, all the times after I just remember the doctor "kneading" my belly and it coming out. I've heard of the painful ones but thankfully (knock on wood I don't jinx myself lol) I haven't had a bad one.

@ecwk On the trying to get pregnant board is where I saw the craziest posts... Relying on pet behavior to determine if one was ovulating or pregnant, tons of random symptom spotters with the most random "symptoms", and the daily pee stick test with the words "Is that a pink line or not?" under it. The worst part is that a lot of those ladies have been on that board for many months or even years and delt with many losses and they get crazy fly bye posts on almost a daily basis.
@oceanchild...postpartum contractions??!! I feel like a real bozo for not knowing about this and I'm not so thrilled that it's a thing. I think I may have groaned out loud at the thought of it.
My little side note: My left side is killing me today... And I have no idea why but it's making me mopey.
I had glorious epidurals with both of my deliveries, so the postpartum contractions were worse than labor! Ha. @JaVO88 - they were hardly noticeable with the first baby. It wasn't until the second that they were seriously painful.

@kynbar5 LOL that would freak me out, thinking there was a missed twin or something! The belly kneading is awful too - they kept coming in to do it for the whole next day! Last time I just asked them to not; I mean, if I had my baby at home nobody would be torturing my like that. My doc was like "good point, I'm cool with that."

If this is your first, hopefully you will be spared – I didn't know about them either until my second (but they weren't bad enough to make me wonder if there was another baby thank goodness!); seems like it's not *usually* a first pregnancy thing.
