I just need a virtual hug. This morn when my 5yo was crossing our street to get on the school bus, a car didn't stop for the flashing lights and sign. He wasn't hit by some miracle; the bus driver honked and he fell back, but barely. It was *SO* close, inches. I can't get it out of my head – I keep seeing it over and over. I'm a what-iffer, and I just can't get it together, can't stop crying. How can I turn off my brain? Is it even possible? I keep reminding myself "he's ok! He's ok! He's ok!" But omg. I'm so shaken up. I sent him on anyhow, and now I just don't even know if that was right. Was he upset? We had a rough morning before that, and I wasn't patient at all with him today. Poor guy. I just want to get him and hug him. Even more frustrating is that nobody (not myself, the other witness that stopped, the bus driver) got tags or even the make or the car or if it was 2/4 door bc we were all just so shocked and sickened. He braked for a second and then sped off. And on our camera, it's just a white blur. Sorry I haven't checked in much this weekend … we also had a little stomach bug hit the family. And today I'm running everywhere: chiro, volunteering, OB appt, pick up kid, dance, pick up dinner, mass (it's a holy day). I was dreading it before, but maybe now I'm glad to be busy.

@oceanchild that's terrible and I can honestly say I know how you're feeling. This has happened to me with not only one of my kids but just the other day it happened with a kid that waits with mine. Just try to keep reassuring yourself that everything is okay (thank God!) and that it wasn't a really tragic situation. Also, I hope that a$$hole that didn't stop realizes what could have happened and slows the heck down! Big hugs to you and your little one!

@oceanchild SO many virtual hugs for you. That is awful. I hate that people aren't more careful around children. I too am a what-iffer. It's hard to turn your brain off, especially with something like that. Can you surprise him at lunch today? Or pick him up early? Truth is, he's likely fine. It would make you feel better, though, for sure.
For the infant bath we got the same "sling" posted earlier. It's amazing and so supportive. We kept our son in it way beyond when we needed to (because we were neurotic first time parents). It's by Summer Infant and is cheap and really nice. It's mesh, so it dries well.
My husband was out for the count last night. I never actually saw him awake again. I grabbed the dog before I went to bed and he was sleeping. I haven't seen him yet this morning. I was up all night with night sweats, abdominal pain, and nausea. I think my body is trying to fight this off, but I'm not feeling 100%. I have to muster the energy to bring my son to school though.
@oceanchild I'm so sorry! That's so scary. Maybe you can call the school and see how he's doing or go have lunch with him or pick him up early today. A little extra time may make you both feel a little better. *hugs*
@oceanchild OMG that is so scary!! How frustrating that you guys couldn't get a better idea of the car, but very thankful that your LO is safe. I agree with PP, it might make you feel a little better to drop by school for lunch and a hug??
@cmerribury I hope your household bounces back quickly and that you keep the worst of it at bay!! Lots of rest and water for the lot of you!
Oh and FYI you really need to pick the car seat based on your car. The Chicco seat was the only one that fit in our car at the time - we registered for a different one and it was a monster. If you go to BRU, you can ask them to do a fit test - they will walk out with you and floor model seats so you can try them in your car. It's extremely helpful (and things you don't think of when you're registering).

Thanks ladies. Hubby emerged from our room and seems to be better. He let the chickens out and the dog, and even took the trash out. I'm still feeling ok, not great, but not bad...hoping it missed me.
Dropped my son off at school. He kept trying to show me that he still had diarrhea and needed to stay home. LOL. Silly boy. Back to bed for me. More weak tea and apple juice.
I have had a swamped busy morning. It doesn't help when you feel run down because your body is fighting off these infections that wont go away! On the plus side boss brought in Panera bagels Those were yummy. And I'm kinda looking forward to lunch here shortly- leftovers from last night that consisted of copycat "healthy" KFC (its a recipe DH found on skinnytaste.com and loves to make it), mashed potatoes, peas, and I even made generic cheddar bay biscuits. Yumm-o! This baby will be kicking me all afternoon! After dinner last night when I was trying to count kicks (have to do it for my doctor), he would not stop rolling around!

I'm having lunch with an old colleague with whom I used to exchange business services. Her side job is as a health coach, so I received those services from her in exchange for writing blogs for her website and helping with her social media efforts. We ended that relationships (amicably) in April. She has been a little vague about why she wants to meet, but I know it's some sort of opportunity for me and I am pretty excited about it. Also I feel really "grown up" to be having a business lunch. I don't get out of the office much lol.
You guys. I can't handle this SPD nonsense for 14 more weeks.
And I'm so super-emotional. I just saw something on facebook about what to do if there's a shooter in your workplace. Why does this have to be a thing?

Gah lab lady butchered my arm on the blood draw - said my vein misbehaved. So now I have a giant bruise and feels like I got punched. Fun times.
THAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO
The first time I had my blood drawn I mentioned that I always bruise badly when I donate. The lady was like oh that's not them it's because you don't drink enough water. Okay first of all you don't know my life I drink more water than I need most days, secondly I'll punch you. This same lady did my glucose bloodwork and killed me. My arm hurt for days. Funny enough none of my other blood draws by different people caused me to bruise!
Eek the crib is in great shape!!! Is it bad third trimester starts tomorrow and I'm just now thinking "whoa this is really happening" just because of a new crib??? Gotta get my crap together!!

I may or may not have just eaten 4 burritos, 2 chocolate chocolate chip cookies and a banana. And I'm still hungry! I'm not complaining at all. I don't monitor my weight unless the doctor mentions concern. I love to eat lol I'm just thinking I should be full by now haha.

In addition to doing a little work on the side for my former coworker (dare I say friend?? lol) and getting a little extra cash a month for that, after I have the baby we are going to start working together again and I am going to be a "subject" for an on-going piece she (aka me on her behalf) is going to write for her website in exchange for free health coaching. I'll be a bona fide before and after.
Pretty excited. I lost about 30 pounds working with her for 6 months and have gained a few back pre-pregnancy, and then obviously the weight I have/will continue to gain so I am looking forward to it!
This is probably flame worthy but there is a guy here at work who has been here FOREVER!! He's finally retiring. I don't like him at all. They're doing cake/ice cream and I don't want to go. I hate work social things - I'm an introvert. And I'm feeling kind of crappy from the glucose test.

I swear those two boys are gonna argue each other to death. Ones 18 and ones 11. The 18 year old just hurt his back weight-lifting (which he's not supposed to be doing without his mom here for this reason) and the 11 year old is sitting there like "we'll I'm in pain too!" and not freaking letting it go because he got a cut on his leg and he doesn't know where it came from but apparently it feels like it's on fire.
So I'm trying to get the older one to take Tylenol and sit down with a heating pad until MIL gets back from her Dr appointment, and then trying to get some neosporin and a bandaid on the younger one. Seriously I don't understand how DH turned out how he did. At this rate these two will never leave the house.
I'm at the drug store waiting to go home. I am exhausted. I was bawling at the doctors office and when he mentioned draining my cyst I begged and pleaded for him not to. Last one I had drained it hurt 10 times worse than what it hurts now. They numbed me and it didn't work- I had to suffer kicking and screaming through everything. So he agreed but if it's not better in 3 days I will have to have it lanced. I'm praying not.

@oceanchild So so many hugs... I'm so sorry that happened. I hope things are settling down some and you guys can have a calm evening together with lots of ice cream and snuggles (do 5 year olds still snuggle?).
I cleaned the house while DH made dinner just for himself (I ate earlier bc indigestion doesn't like bed).... so now ALL he has to do is his one weekday job... dishes... which haven't been done since Sat afternoon....
And he is about to start the decides he really needs to go have a 30min shit... FFS it's 10:30pm and I have class at the med school and 9am... and I want those damn dishes done!
LFAF- Best Olympic Moments... Jackie Joyner-Kersee
Eurgh @MrsLeanMeanClean he's a lucky man to have just one weekday job. I've literally just had a conversation with MH about divvying up chores! I figure it's better to try get into a new routine now than when baby gets here!
DH hates it when I talk him up to all the ladies because he says it makes the other men look at him badly.
But my husband literally does all the laundry, all the dishes, takes out the trash, scoops the kitty box, and probably alot more things that I don't notice. Bless his heart! He loves to help me out!
Lol my husband holds down a job, helps with the kids, takes out the trash, kills any spiders and keeps a smile on my face. I couldn't and don't ask for more.
