  • So I noticed when I went to lunch earlier today that my car was SPRAY PAINTED. Like, wtf?! I assume it happened last night and I just didn't notice it this morning. Guess who will be shifting things around in the garage so both cars can fit tonight?

I suppose I should be thankful it's just one looonnnggg line (driver's side back door all the way around the back) and not something profane?

Oh my...that's awful! I'm so sorry!

People that do that kind of crap make me insane. Ugh :(

  • Thank you guys!

I keep thinking it could be worse (think big old penis or some nasty word instead of a line lol) and at least now DH and I have a reason to get the garage together before winter weather hits so we can both park inside!

It's just so annoying because I work at the community clubhouse and interact with so many people and go above and beyond to be nice - especially to the teen boys that some of the other women may not afford the same courtesy. I know it's presumptuous, but I assume it was some group of teen boys that did it.

    I am a good neighbor...why me!!?!?

I want Thanksgiving food too :( mostly just the stuffing I mentioned in the thread but I'd enjoy some mashed potatoes too.
  • Question : are your bumps hard? Today I feel like my tummy just ballooned! Even DH was taken aback when he saw me after work. But it doesn't feel hard, exactly. Maybe a little firmer but still squishy.

Yes just the last few days it's getting harder!

Also I am fighting with stupid on FB... I shouldn't and the woman fits stupid in so many ways but she is not only annoying but uneducated, miseducating others, and is spouting of BS advice on how not to manage our disease when she is very poorly right now, has ballooned in weight and on narcotics to manage pain. (She doesn't believe in any treatment but steroids and tramadol....)

She is going to drive me to eat Ben and jerrys

I've notice that if I am out and about later than usual, my bump feels really hard further up, like above my belly button. It's only felt that way after 11 pm or so. Pregnant bodies are weird.

No, that definitely sucks! At my school all such activities are in the evening in order to facilitate parents who want to attend. Parent teacher meetings, open house etc. I guess it sucks when I have to be at school for over 12 hours but it's not that often so I don't really mind. I appreciate the opportunity to meet my students' parents and I can't imagine I'd meet many if it were during the day.

And glad to know I can inspire so many PLPs today :) pregnant lady problems, my DH calls them.  Such as needing Thanksgiving foods, but not having the energy to make them.  Sigh... cornbread dressing...
  • My tummy is hard on top most of the afternoon, when I'm standing. I'm really overweight so when I sit down it hides behind my fat roll and is super squishy lol

  • I am late to the party which is nothing new. I hope everyone had a great (injury free) Halloween!

Flowerpower- I hate to hear that about your car. people suck.

All things Thanksgiving sound absolutely amazing right now. I am bummed because it looks like I won't get to cook or host at my house this year due to my IC. bleh. I thought this pregnancy was going to be easy.

Some good news- DH got an email from his CEO today that they are now offering 2 full weeks of paid leave for women and men for newborn birth and adoption! I am happy they are taking a step in the right direction and DH doesn't have to use vacation days!

Question- is there a way to make a registry and make it private? I want the completion discount and gift card but I don't want anyone to look up my registry and think I am expecting a shower or only see 5 or 6 ridiculously priced items? DS is only 15 months on and we bought everything gender neutral. Literally the only things we need are the crib, dresser, double stroller, curtains, and an Ergo. Of course I am not expecting anyone else to buy them for us.

You can make it private on target, that's what I did since I just wanted the completion coupon.

I don't shop on BF only because I get really annoyed with all the rude, pushy crowds. I'm not a huge shopper to begin with anyways.

Spray paint on your car?!?! Are you kidding me??!! You are taking it so much better than I would have.

My bump was hard... Now it's softened up again.

Our school also tries to do activities after school. We are having a math/literacy night next week from 5-8.

I want all the thanksgiving food the world has to offer... But I'm already dreading cooking it all. DH is going to have to carry the weight this year and do most of it.

    I havn't cough-pissed at all but I have snissed...
  • @jmathi0149 I have to ask. Does your hubby work for a large insulation and fiberglass manufacturer??? I got the same letter from my companies CEO today. I now get an extra 2 weeks paid off in addition to maternity leave/STD. I was literally doing a happy dance around my cube today! Just curious if the world really is that small! Don't mean to be too nosey.

  • I may be the odd ball here but I love bf shopping! I go every year, even if I don't need anything. I just love the thrill of it and love watching people act like crazies. I usually get a Starbucks and post up somewhere and watch the crowd.
  • @flowerpower5838 that is awful! I hate senseless acts like that.

As for Black Friday. Not for me, I hate crowds and shopping so Count me out. I usually check out the cyber deals and I have already been stocking gifts for ds. He gets spoiled this time of year since his birthday is in a week and then we celebrate both hannukah (Dh is Jewish) and Christmas. We do try and keep it within reason though, lots of the hannukah gifts are books(I have been using my scholastic points for him) and craft items. Plus we decided when Ds was born he would get one gift from us, one from Santa and his stocking. So he doesn't expect mounds of presents.

I definitely took teachers' vacation into account when I chose it as a career. It is not the only reason, but family was really important to me and if I had to work I am happy to have a job that allows me to be home by 4, have holidays off and spend the summer with my kids. I do a lot of work after Ds goes to sleep in the evenings, and I do some curriculum work over the summer, but I am so grateful for the hours we get to spend together.
  • Wait wait wait - @skruhmin, you *MAKE* pasta?! Do you have to let it get hard before you boil it then, or bake it or something? Genuinely asking, bc I'm a clueless kitchen klutz. I mean, I make my own sauce from Italian GMIL's recipe, but I'm buying pasta in a box damnit haha ;)

@flowerpower5838 so sorry about your car. Ppl are so crapoy sometimes. :(

I have the opposite prob with the school hours thing - they always schedule parent-night and teacher meetings from 5:30-7; hubs gets home from work at 6:45, so to go I'd have to take all three kids with me to try to sit in a conference that is scheduled right at dinnertime (trust me this does not work out for anyone present). Like you, I know they have lives too, but it would be cool if they could have two shifts and take turns or something so that the SAHPs could go during the day and the ones that work during the day could attend the evening meetings. They don't have them all that often. Ah well; C'est la vie I guess :)

  • @oceanchild you don't have to wait for it to get hard, no. It takes a fraction of the time to cook though, like three minutes vs nine.
  • Neato!!! I can't imagine going thru the extra steps of making the dough and all, but I think that is awesome. I know some people really enjoy cooking/baking. I wish I was one of them! I want to be amazing in the kitchen, but I'm just not.

  • So PSA: if your car is ever vandalized with spray paint, non-acetone nail polish remover (immediately followed by a soapy water rinse) may do the trick to remove it. DH googled it and we were glad and surprised to see that it worked! No more orange paint on the black car :) I will say that it did jump start me finally getting around to refinishing the old buffet table I bought like 3 years ago so both cars can park in the garage. Silver lining?
Man you took that way better than I would have.  I also hear perfume gets the paint off, but too much will damage your paint too., but it is good if you have paint on your car from someone opening the door into you.

  • @oceanchild it's seriously amazing.  I do have packages of pasta since we're still trying to unpack everything but once we do, I'm going to be a pasta machine.  There is absolutely nothing like homemade pasta.

Anyone else's kids starting to show the effects of time change?  My 4-year old was a whiny, sobbing mess this morning.  It was torture trying to get him out the door.  And he said he was tired on the way to daycare.  One of the days I'm so glad to be working outside the home but I feel bad for him.

  • Does anyone else have a ketchupholic for a kid?  If we make my son eat something he doesn't want to, he drowns it in ketchup.  Ketchup = fruit, right?  How do you get over the overly picky stage and on to the eating healthy???  He's been in this stage for two flippin' years.  I like to do a lot from scratch but he's all hotdogs and chicken nuggets.  At least I can make my own chicken nuggets and he likes them.  But holy crap, kid.  There is more to life than ketchup!

  • @skruhmin A few of mine went through this but slowly came back to reality lol. The ketchup part didn't bother me too bad and when I started introducing alternatives (bbq sauce, honey mustard, etc) a few of them didn't really go back to ketchup. :) The food part, I'm the "mean mom" that won't give choices. I do make them things that they like but they've also "learned" to like some things because I refuse to eat chicken, spaghetti and burgers every night lol. Also, with how many there are, I make everyone eat the same thing for dinner (no special orders) unless it's "no gravy on mine" or "can I have extra green beans instead of mashed potatoes". :) On the other hand one of my brother's kids still eats ketchup by the spoonful and she's 13. Lol
