I mean I'm not giving alternatives - what we eat is what he's allowed to eat. If he tries everything on the plate, he can have a piece of fruit that is on the table - that's my thing, if it's on the table, you can have it and I make sure to have a bowl of fruit on the table. It's just frustrating because food is so good - why can't he see this! It's all because I swore to myself I wouldn't have the picky kid. And he gets stubborn from both his dad and me. So stubborn and picky = perfect storm!

Does anyone else have a ketchupholic for a kid? If we make my son eat something he doesn't want to, he drowns it in ketchup. Ketchup = fruit, right? How do you get over the overly picky stage and on to the eating healthy??? He's been in this stage for two flippin' years. I like to do a lot from scratch but he's all hotdogs and chicken nuggets. At least I can make my own chicken nuggets and he likes them. But holy crap, kid. There is more to life than ketchup!
I don't think there is anything wrong with your kid. Ketchup lovers unite. This is about how much I use.

Funny you mention ketchupholics, @skruhmin. My girls aren't as into ketchup. But they're obsessed with ranch (yeah, yeah - we're Midwesterners - we love our ranch). They're having chicken nuggets and ranch for lunch today, and I just saw DD2 dipping her strawberries in ranch. *gag*
I've given up on the picky eating fight. They eat what they like for breakfast and lunch. I make sure they eat lots of fruit. They eat what I make for dinner or nothing at all (usually nothing at all). I was a terribly picky eater as a kid and eventually grew out of it and have expanded my horizons. They will someday, too.

Yeah he's a ranchaholic too. And it "has" to be Hidden Valley like what grandma has. I tried making my own Ranch and while he snuck tastes of it when we weren't looking, he said he hated it.

DD loves all dipping sauces. Actually she loves everything i put in front of her, but we are currently going trough a phase were she is an awesome breakfast eater, not sure about lunch i don't see here then and eats nearly nothing for dinner. She will eat a lemon, hot sauce, etc shes a bizarre child.
On another note, 6 weeks from tomorrow I'm officially 3rd trimester (and only 2 until viability week!!!). Holy crap!!! I feel like this trimester is flying!

So I think I've officially hit the nesting stage. My house just feels gross... Spent the past few days moving all appliances to clean behind them, cleaning walls, ceilings, vents...house still feels gross. I finally sat down to log onto TB last night and it was down!! WTF!?!
Hope all the kiddos are feeling better.
@flowerpower5838 Sorry about your car. That's just awful. Even if you were able to take the paint off its so aggravating that you can't comfortably walk away from your stuff because some people are a$$holes.
My bump is hard at the bottom and I get a top portion of a bump later on the day. I'm assuming the top part is bloat? It's usually gone later in the day and in the morning.
I love that I'm not the only one that has dinner rules. I said "mean mom" because my extended family acts like I'm so wrong for not catering to my kids at every meal. It does help tremendously that my husband totally backs me though. Also, I may stay off tb until their technical issues are fully worked out because this is making me ragey. ~X(

With DD she isn't very picky at all, so the things she doesn't like I'm willing to substitute things for (like chili.) She even likes things that I don't- Spanish rice!? Yuck!
She too is a ranch lover, but that is all she will touch- no ketchup, mustard, NOTHNG. I will say she does get creative when she cooks things like ramen noodles...she will make the noodles and use other spices in the cupboard rather than the flavor packet to try new flavors. And she LOVES to help me cook Our rule of thumb is you help me to cook it, you have to try it too. After all- what chef doesn't eat what they cook? Lol. That was always the rule with the kids in my classroom- You help make it you are going to try it.

@SarahFoley725 Good luck at your appointment! I am sure everything will be fine.
DS and DH both love ketchup but he doesn't eat it with every like say fruit or veggies. He does like to dip his mac n cheese in it though.
Ranch absolutely has to be Hidden Valley. There is no other option in my opinion.
Random: I had a maternity massage yesterday. I have been going to the lady for a while and really like her. She saw on my form from my first time there that I had c-section in December of 11 and asked if I was having another one. I told her yes and she said "I saw a video of a c-section once and I just through that is so horrible I never ever want to have one." It didn't bother me but I just thought why would you say that to someone? I am not one to put anyone's choice of birthing method down, as long as you brought your baby into the world who cares? Super akward comment though. If I was a faster thinker I would have told her I saw a video of a vaginal birth one time and I thought wow I hope I never have to do that.
Well, we have decided to move the end of this month. We have been having issues with our apartment and have decided to move to Illinois until after the babies are born. We have family there that can help with them. There is so much to do now. Sigh*
I'd like to do neither and have the stork deliver my baby )

I'm so indecisive on what I want as far as labor & delivery. If I have to have a C-section then I have to. But as far as meds vs. natural I'm all up in the air. My first L & D was horrible. DD was 2 months early and my OB was unable to stop the labor (I was dilated 5.5 cm and had felt NOTHING until I felt my water break). So I got the Pitocin and was shipped via ambulance to the closest hospital with a NICU. By time I got there I had full blown contractions and then the nurse there started me on Demerol. From there I was in terrible pain. I mean yes I was only 20 and yes I was a FTM- I expected labor to hurt but NOTHING like it did. I was so drunk feeling from drugs that I passed out between my contractions, which were already a minute apart. The PT dept. sent me up tennis balls so my mom and bf could massage my hips. I only saw a doctor once. The nurse was so busy chit-chatting with my mother (they were next door neighbors) that my poor baby shot out of me after one big push and bounced on the bed, because the doctor was performing a C-section the same time I was laboring. He showed up 1/2 hour later to stitch me (he wasn't there to cut so I tore- for a 3 POUND BABY). It makes me wonder if it was the drug combination that made it so painful for me. It was very hard for me to push out a 3 pound baby, and that makes me wonder/worry how difficult it will be if this one comes full term.
I'm so glad I have time to think about it and come up with a course of action.

I'm glad the spray paint came off your car! Yay for google!
SarahFoley725- I'm in a similar boat. My a/s is tomorrow and I'm just trying to think of ways to make time pass by quickly. Productivity is not important at this point.
So this is what I make for dinner when I'm craving Thanksgiving food. I usually make mashed potatoes to go on the side.
Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients
4 chicken breasts (defrosted)
1 large can or Cream of Chicken Soup (or two small cans)
2 boxes of Stuffing mix
1 cup Sour Cream (we used light)
1 small package of frozen green beans
Crockpot
Non stick cooking spray
Instructions
Spray the crockpot with non stick cooking spray
Place the defrosted chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot as your first bottom layer.
Next tear open two boxes of stuffing mix (we used the Stove Top Chicken flavor), pour the dry mix over the raw chicken.
In a separate bowl, mix together the soup and sour cream. Top this mixture over the dry stuffing mix.
The last layer will be the frozen green beans.
Now add about 1 cup of water to the top of this mix.
Cook on high for 4 hours or cook on low for about 7 to 8 hours.
Tip: About ½ way between the cooking time use a fork to fluff the stuffing mix. This will allow the water to drop through the soup mix and create a steam to cook the stuffing. Add less water if you prefer a dry stuffing or add more water if you like it really moist.
Sorry, super late to the game because TB is being a jerk today (as you all know). My son eats ketchup on everything. His strawberries, his grapes, everything. It's so gross. It's my one compromise, though, as he gets what I make (unless it's super spicy, in which case I'll acquiesce). So, he can dip it all in ketchup if he wants...but that's what he's getting. Mean Moms Unite! =D>
@charley15 I'm not sure if this can offer any reassurance for you, but every mama who's ever told me about her preterm birth experience with no epi has said the same thing as you - extremely painful. But I really wonder if it's because a smaller preterm baby isn't as able to "help" itself on the way out the way a full term baby does (you know, how they kind of "swim" and push out)? So maybe birthing a full-term baby will be an easier experience for you

My son likes ketchup, but he is an odd one: he would rather have honey mustered. He will lick it off his plate and if you go out to eat and they have the little cups of it? Well then he looks like Winnie the pooh bear, dipping his hand in it and liking his fingers clean.

That's what I was thinking! But of course being the only one I know who experienced pre - term birth I often get shut down by my mother/other people, telling me it's just because I'm a wuss and it should be easier pushing out a smaller baby. I figured it had something to do with baby not being able to adequately fit in the birth canal so my body would have to work harder to contract around the baby and I would have to work harder to push.

Man oh man I am having wedding vendor selection déjà vu looking for a newborn photographer. I think I may have to reevaluate my career path!
(And to those that NEED to justify the prices of this stuff, I am well aware that professional photographers have to buy very very expensive equipment, are self-insured, etc etc and I know they are worth it. Still doesn't mean I can't think it's a small fortune.)
We just got back from our appointment a little bit ago and they said we are completely fine. My cord is where it's supposed to be and baby looks great. I have been sobbing from pure relief for about 15 minutes now.
