@smitty18 I wish there was someway we could fast forward to our beta day!
Today has been an emotional roller coaster as well. I have all ready been in tears a few times. I am disappointed that I was can not have any activity today. I was told I can not even open the door for trick or treaters : ( How am I supposed to not think about this all day long. I am trying to distract myself but its very hard. Although a few of our closes friends and family know about the IVF we didnt share w anyone about the ET being today. Its very lonely not being able to share w others. DH is amazing but there are somethings he just doesn't understand. DH is very calm he isn't a worrier at all I wish I could be more like him.
Gals I don't understand why the bladder has to be full..I know when it has to be full etc. As per my planning sheet from doc. But what if you desperately then need to go? How odd.. fx for you, @picare88. @smitty18 thank you for sharing your feelings re ET. Ladies I am really sending tons of positivity your way... garden, create and focus all the good growing positive feelings
@villacis811 hugs to you! I know the feeling! I ended up sitting next to the door while my DH answered the trick or treaters. It was weird to say the least. I feel like every doctor says something different and it's hard to know what to think about activity level. My friend had ivf and the doctor told her not to lift anything >20 pounds! My dr never said that to me and it's making me question everything I do around the house and also making me feel kind of helpless too. I hope your day today is better. As the weekend went on I have been feeling better every day. When is your pregnancy test?
@Carlaisy for the ET a full bladder helps move the cervix for the procedure so the doctor can introduce the catheter more easily. It normally sits at a 90 degree angle which means your embryos have to turn a corner to get home. With a full bladder that entrance moves to 45 degrees or less, which makes the procedure easier. The nurse said one time a woman actually let her bladder go accidentally on the dr because she had to go so bad. Yikes!
@smitty18 haha I was worried I was not going to be able to hold it either! Luckily I did. My beta is scheduled for 11/11. when is yours? I have been feeling very crampy. What about you? Wondering how long this is going to last.
@carlaisy I was told I had to have a full bladder but not too full not sure how we are suppose to determine that while we are home. My bladder was almost too full but they were able to make it work.
Hi ladies and happy November! Hope you all are having a calm, relaxing weekend! DH and I went to a Halloween party last night. It was too funny because the party started at 8, but we couldn't leave the house until 8 because I had to do my refridgerated injection before we could leave. I packed my syringe of Lupron in my purse and brought it to the party and had to excuse myself to "shoot up" in the bathroom, lol. DH and I kept whispering about whether I should go to the bathroom or the car to do the injection (we have not told our friends we are in the process although they know we were eventually going to do IVF) but I was worried someone would think I was doing drugs!
Hope all of you in the 2 ww have had a calm, quick weekend. For those of you stimming, I hope this week brings you good news and many follicles!
@erinscaren I know exactly what you mean with scheduling the shots. I hate having to take injections with me when we go out during the evenings especially since I haven't been able to give them to myself.
I am really disliking the PIO shots! I am so sore all the time. Anyone else having better luck?
This may be a dumb question, but if I am doing my FSH shot at 8pm should I do it at 8 or 7 tonight because of the time change? I'm thinking 8pm is fine.
@erinscaren Not a dumb question at all! I've been wondering, too. My dr told me that I could adjust the time one hour if I needed to but to try keeping it as consistent as I could. I'm going to take mine at the regular time. Ill ask at my appointment tomorrow just in case.
Ladies I caved and took a test and it's negative. I'm 9dp2dt. I tested because today I felt dizzy all day long and developed nausea. I thought with new symptoms it would show, but many say it's too early. Transfer on Oct 23rd. I tested at 630 pm too. I'm dumb
@babyblue13077 I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet....wait until your Beta test....when is it? Don't feel dumb....Im sure lots of us struggle to decide if we should take a test or not...I have my beta on Wed and I'm starting to freak out and Im so negative right now....
@babyblue13077 too funny I've been wondering about doing that myself. My dr did tell me if I too a test and it was positive now it would be a false positive due to the hormones. You're not dumb. Just anxious. I know the feeling!!!! We all want the bfp!!!! Wait for the blood test. Sending fxs!!!! When is your blood test? The waiting is the hardest part.
@erinscaren my RE says try to stay as close to 12 hours for consistent blood plasma levels. As a fail safe they said as long as it was in the same 2 hour window you are pretty safe. If it were me I'd stick to 12 hours and slowly adjust by 15 minutes each day. How funny to do the shots at a party! The things we do!
@villacis811 the good news is that it's November and every day that goes by is a day closer to a potential BFP! For some reason I feel like my pregnancy test is early! I go in on 11/8. I'm crampy too. It's weird. Also I feel twinges in my center but I feel like that's my imagination. My crampy feeling has been going on now for 2 days. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm a little worried about getting back to normal stresses.
@picare88 my beta is Wed, too! I've been negative this whole time, and today with the dizziness and nausea. I thought hey why not maybe I was wrong and it's positive! Grrrr. I feel like I've been so patient and it's been so long!!!
@smitty18 blood test is Wed. Your right waiting is the hardest part! I have even just chalked any symptoms up to the progesterone or estrogen. The new ones I couldn't so easily say I wasn't pregnant. Twinges are good I hear and I have them too.. [-O<
I've just been mostly lurking on everyone's posts, but now it's getting real. I'm just waiting for CD 1 to start BCPs. I've been doing a green smoothie cleanse to lose a few pounds and I'm VERY close to my goal IVF start weight. EEK!! I'll be more of a November / December gal with a stim start date is Nov 27th...

Ok this might be a silly question. @emsmama15 made me think of it. Since my wife and I need to start bcp to sync our cycles, how does that work if you have to wait for cd1? My cycle is usually about 60-80 days, so it is the least predictable thing! She is very regular so it will be easy for her. Will I just take them even though I haven't started? Sorry, I've never taken bcps so I have no clue about them lol
RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary. Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16
Hey all. I am new to this. I am 41 my DH is 49. Unexplained. Spontaneous pregnancy in 2013, MC at 10 weeks. TTC 3 years. This is our first IVF attempt.
@erinscaren I did the same thing last weekend! My DH freaked out at dinner and said out loud, "It's 9:00!" so I had to tell my friends what was going on. My girlfriend came into the bathroom with me to help! lol. I think we are on the same schedule. I began Lupron on 10/21 and Gonal F on 10/30. I had a blood test today to see what my doses will be for Gonal F and Menopur. I wish you all the best! FX
@AmyReneeF Yes we are! I had my BW this morning, too, waiting on my nurse to call with instructions for Gonal-F and menopur. The menopur is probably the one I am dreading the most. Too many steps involved haha. Hope you are feeling well! I am really tired today, but otherwise doing ok.
@twomommiestobe That is a good question, I have no idea! I'm sure they will know what to do though.
@emsmama15 wow that's great, good work, keep it up!
@Rachd110 I ended up just doing it at 8pm, too. I think it's fine, the only one I remember them saying was a big deal to do exactly on time is the trigger.
@villacis811 and @smitty18 thanks for clearing up the bladder story for me! I produce no cm so thats why we are doing ivf. Apparently drinking green tea, evening primrose caps is the natural way to improve cm.. but alas copious amounts don't even make a dent. We have tried preseed.. even egg whites :-& but nah.. no go
Hey ladies . I know I don't post much but I do read and follow all your stories. I'm freaking out a bit today because my beta is tomorrow. I tested yesterday and it was negative my transfer was on the 25 so it might be to early to show on a HPT (or at least that's what I'm hoping why it was negative ).
@carlaisy I've read that Chinese Green Tea also helps improve CM. I always noticed more CM when I drank it during my unmedicated cycles.
I had my third US and blood test this morning. Two follies at 18 and 17, a few 14-16s and several 11s and 12s. The US tech said I'll probably be back tomorrow or Wednesday for another US depending on my blood test. She didn't tell me exactly how many follies, but she did say something about having more than 40. I wish she told me how many are over 15mm. I'm having trouble focusing at work today. I'm eagerly waiting to hear from my nurse, which isn't until 4 pm. I'm starting to feel really uncomfortable, it even hurts to walk. I wish I could have taken this week off of work.
For those that already had their ER, any diet recommendation? I've heard protein and lots of water beforehand and Gatorade after.
I'm sitting here at work and all I can think about is my baseline US and blood work tomorrow! So excited and so nervous. I'll hopefully be starting my stims tomorrow night. So at my birthday dinner DH and I will need to step out so he can shoot me up lol. The idea of it sounds so funny.
My possible retrieval date is somewhere in 11/12-11/14. It doesn't seem like I'll be stimming for very long, is that a normal length of time?
@erinscaren Same here. I completely forgot all the mixing instructions for menopur. I was a bit overwhelmed when I met with the pharmacist. I am going to have to do some reading tonight and hope I get it right! I am feeling OK. I had a headache yesterday, but it seem better today. Tired as well and going to bed super early every night. Feeling like a human pin cushion! lol.
sign of relief... just talked to my RE. Everything looks good, I am responding to the meds appropriately and my estradiol is increasing. Starting Menopur tonight. Anyone have any experience with Menopur?
@twomommiestobe - my last cycle, I didn't ovulate the day I had the previous (CD18), so I called my RE, got a progesterone test to confirm I hadn't ovulated, and started provera for 10 days. I'm just waiting on CD1 to start BCPs. They can manipulate it to come when they want.

@AmyReneeF How did it go? Just did mine, now I have no fear of needles and a pretty high pain tolerance, but I didn't think it was bad at all. Burned a little, but thought it was going to be way worse than it was. Even drawing it up wasn't as much work as I thought.
@Piperella Yaaay finally on your way! So happy for you!
@Rachd110 40? Wow that's crazy great. What did the nurse say?
@poeface Good luck tomorrow, it could definitely be positive, those HPT are not nearly as sensitive. Will be thinking of you!
@erinscaren So glad it went well for you! I just did mine too. My husband about fainted, but I was fine. He can't stand needles, so it's all on me. It burned a little and bled a little, but overall not as bad as I thought it would be. Yay for us! Did you do it at 90 or 45 degrees? I had contradicting instructions in my written materials. Do you know what your estradiol level was from your blood test today? I'm so curious how much mine will increase this week. Hope everything continues to go great for you!
@emsmama15 I find out on Wednesday when I start stims. My IVF manual says he will typically start them 2-3 weeks after I start BCPs.. I'll find out for sure I hope on Wednesday. My period was crazy spotting at best this month, so he wanted me to go ahead and start BCP. The clinic where we go to complete the transfer closes in Mid December for a big cleanup, sterilization, and christmas break for all employees, so I think he's trying to make sure that we get the egg retrieval and transfer in before the close up for the year.
@AmyReneeF It's so funny you say that because I specifically remember the pharmacist saying the only one that is better to do 90 degrees is the Gonal-F, but the instructions I have for Menopur said 90. So I ended up sticking at a 45 degree angle and then turning the syringe to 90 hahaha, pretty sure I didn't need to do that. My estradiol was 107. It was <21 on Thursday. Glad to have a buddy on the same schedule!
@AmyReneeF I didn't think the menopur was that bad.
@Carlaisy- I was worried about all the injections but I think it was all a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
@piperella- Thats so exciting its the start of the process!! It goes pretty quick!
@smitty18 - I had some cramping yesterday also but today I had much less which makes me nervous. Trying not to think about it too much so it doesn't drive me crazy!
@erinscaren, does it hurt less at a 45 degree angle? Ganrelix hurts me a lot. Yesterday, I iced my belly beforehand and it felt better. I went back for US and blood this morning. It was a different US tech who didn't really share much info. She just said that she thinks I will trigger tonight because the doc usually triggers if more than 4 follies are greater than 18. Since I'm triggering with Lupron, I have to go again tomorrow morning for blood test to make sure it worked.
I've been really uncomfortable the last couple days. It hurts to walk and sit down. I made the mistake of wearing pants instead of a dress today to work. Only a couple more days...
Morning ladies went for my bw this morning and now I just have to wait. However I have a strong feeling it will be negative because on the way home I had pink stuff come out of me I'm guessing is my period mixed with the endomitrem pills
@rachd110 I'm not sure of the reason for the 45 degree angle, but I will say sometimes I don't feel the Lupron injection at all. Hang in there, you are getting so close!
Re: October/November IVF

@babyblue13077 it may be too early. i know it's so hard not to test early especially if you're feeling symptoms.
