Hi all, I'm new here. I just received my negative beta news today from my second IUI. DH and I have decided to move on to IVF. This will be my first time and I'm very nervous! I've been diagnosed with unexplained fertility and DH's numbers are great, so this journey has been really frustrating. I'm so scared IVF will not work. Right now, I'm waiting for AF to start, so I can get my baseline blood and US then start birth control pills. If everything goes smoothly the next couple weeks (insurance approval), I'll start stims on 10/25. I don't feel well informed about this process. I feel like my clinic talks to me like I'm already an expert at this. I should ask them if they have info sessions.
Anyone have advice for this IVF newbie? Anything I can do to help me relax? I don't sleep well and not sure why. I wake up 3-4 times a night--cannot remember the last good night's sleep I've had. I tried Melatonin last night, unfortunately, it did not help. I will try it again tonight. I'm thinking about getting a massage and a couple sessions of acupuncture with this IVF cycle.
Good luck to everyone! I skimmed through this feed, but there is already hundreds of posts I couldn't keep up. I'll definitely keep track of it from now on.
Welcome @Rachd110 and GL on your IVF journey, although I'm sorry your IUI didn't work. The stress and worry will lessen as you begin to get into the process. You'll have time to adjust while you're on OCPs. We've got a ton of early questions at the start of this post that may be helpful (like how overwhelming the arrival of the meds can feel), but feel free to ask anything that you run across and we will do our best to offer help and support!
@Rachd110 - I'm sorry hun that the IUI didn't turn out. IVF is a lot but in no time you'll become an expert. I would definitely recommend taking a list of questions in with you to your clinic so they can better explain anything you may have questions on. I haven't done any massages or acupuncture sessions but i know a lot of women who swear by it to help them relax.

@hbamama2b and @dreambig1021, thank you. I really love how everyone in this community is so supportive. It's nice to have somewhere to go. It's hard to talk to friends about this especially since they don't understand and usually say the wrong things. I will put a list of questions together for my clinic and hopefully they can help answer them. I did read on here about feeling overwhelmed with all the meds. I'm not looking forward to it especially the PIO.
@Rachd110 hiiiii and welcome! I think it is important to really just take it one day at a time. Each pill or shot you take is a huge step! I love massages! Do it. I have also done acupuncture once a week since January, but then took September off.... I never got into it, but I think I was burnt out. Definitely no harm in adding that as some research shows positive support with IVF success!
Welcome @Rachd110 ! I think you'll find this community to be supportive, comforting, and knowledgable. I felt overwhelmed by the IVF process and the meds before starting but now that I'm in it, it's less complicated. The PIO isn't that bad. The fear of it is worse than the actual injection.

@Rachd110 welcome! Sorry that you're having a rough start to this journey. It definitely can be intimidating at times. Maybe speak to your doctor and tell him/her that you want to understand what's going on and that you don't know a lot about the process. You will learn a lot as it goes on, but you should feel informed before starting.
I will be on a Similar schedule to you (hopefully). I was on the same course as these other ladies, but unfortunately was delayed due to 4 cysts. I go back on the 19th to check that they are gone and then will stim on the 23rd. Ask as many questions as you need to in this forum, we're all here to support and help each other!!

This morning was my 7dp5dt and as soon as I woke up I tested. It was totally negative. Sad start to my day but not totally surprising. I will test again every morning up until Monday which is my beta day. In other news- I also have so many tony white headed pimple breakouts on my face! It's gross. I'm not tired- regular energy levels and slight nipple tenderness. Also- my projesterone injection spots on my booty have become itchy, super swollen, hard and hot. This has just started happening over the last 3 days but one side is way crazier than the other. Do you guys have similar issues with your injection spots? I'm thinking of taking some pics and sending to my nurse if this doesn't get better by tomorrow morning. What if this is an allergic reaction? Yikes!!!

I really appreciate the support from everyone! About an hour ago I just broke down and cried because this whole process stinks. I want to try to relax, but I'm having such a hard time doing so. I haven't cried like that in a while, so I needed it!

@Isabelfuentes2015 so sorry about your negative this morning but yes it is early. Keep us posted! I have a couple injection sites that are bruised and itchy... I think that is expected at this point in the game @Rachd110 my heart hurts for you.... I just heard from another friend last night that he and his wife are starting IVF and I let out tears for them.... I was even reading through my own medical records the other day and starting crying, just remember all of the fear, confusions, and frustrations. I don't wish IF on anyone and it is just such a devastating process. Grieve when you need to so you can be strong. Find a good support group so you don't need to carry this burden alone. Fx, and as they say, "this too shall pass"!

relax. If you can get a mani and pedi too – that always helped relax a
lot. Make plans with friends to go out for
dinner, movies, or brunch anything that will keep your mind busy. The PIO is not horrible. We will share our

my bums and I been taking nice hot (not to Hot) showers after the shot follow

show it to your nurse. I was allergy to the sesame oil; now I’m in the one with
olive oil.
@mclorn – I was a zombie last week – for some reason my
energy level and mood are different this week.
I was dancing to some Janet Jackson songs (old ones). DH and I went out
yesterday and we were such goofballs for a moment all the worrieness and stress
went away.
So since yesterday afternoon I been having minor cramps –
and this AM took a HPT and F**** HPT was defected or who knows what that I didn’t
give me any info – I was so annoyed but at the same time I was thinking if this
a sign that maybe I should wait until BETA ( 10/12) – don’t know if I’m going
to be able to do it. I may go to the
pharmacy and get HPT during my lunch hour.
@lizg19 I love that you had a carefree night! SO needed! Someone on another thread also got a defective HPT a few days before beta and said the same thing... it's a sign! "I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes I saw the sign! Life is demanding without understanding!". It is ironic, don't ya think? "It's like nooooooooooo liiiiiiiiines on your beta day!". I have no clue why Alanis Morissette is in my head but she is just spot on right now!
I had a *hint* of nausea last night (but I usually feel out of it after a nap). This morning I feel normal with *minor* aches in my belly. I'm feeling positive today.... but trying to keep myself in check... my beta is at 7am tomorrow, then a nice 2 mile walk to work to zone out and give myself a pep talk to get through the day. I usually get called between 1-4pm. With all my negative betas it's usually right at 4 (which is when the clinic closes, so I can't call back if I miss it.........I think they do this on purpose!!).
lizg19 I'm feeling better this morning... I'm still really tired though. I had to POS this morning and send the results to my doctor because they wanted to make sure the HCG was in my system... seeing 2 lines on a HPT was like really messing with me because I'm like I know I'm not pregnant, but seeing those lines reminded me of what we all want....

I puke twice last week but i dont know if it was the food or all the stress that i'm having. This week is like high energy even with 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I have craving for greasy food.

@LCK0830 I JUST DID IT!!! It wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be...but it didnt feel great either. I'm a lil woosy after it....not sure if that is normal or not.

@Rachd110 welcome! Sorry that you're having a rough start to this journey. It definitely can be intimidating at times. Maybe speak to your doctor and tell him/her that you want to understand what's going on and that you don't know a lot about the process.
You will learn a lot as it goes on, but you should feel informed before starting.
I will be on a Similar schedule to you (hopefully). I was on the same course as these other ladies, but unfortunately was delayed due to 4 cysts. I go back on the 19th to check that they are gone and then will stim on the 23rd. Ask as many questions as you need to in this forum, we're all here to support and help each other!!

Found out I was positive for MTHFR Gene Mutation during TWW of IVF #4
In other news- I also have so many tony white headed pimple breakouts on my face! It's gross. I'm not tired- regular energy levels and slight nipple tenderness.
Also- my projesterone injection spots on my booty have become itchy, super swollen, hard and hot. This has just started happening over the last 3 days but one side is way crazier than the other. Do you guys have similar issues with your injection spots? I'm thinking of taking some pics and sending to my nurse if this doesn't get better by tomorrow morning. What if this is an allergic reaction? Yikes!!!

Welcome @Rachd110 and sorry about the bad new you got. Personally, I think is very hard to be relax during this process. The massages and acupuncture will help you relax. If you can get a mani and pedi too – that always helped relax a lot. Make plans with friends to go out for dinner, movies, or brunch anything that will keep your mind busy. The PIO is not horrible. We will share our secrets with you J
@Isabelfuentes2015 I’m like you I have lots of breakouts too – I feel like I’m in my teens again. Regarding your booty - I had the same issues but DH has been massaging my bums and I been taking nice hot (not to Hot) showers after the shot follow by 10 min with the heating pad. I been trying not to scratch it - I do not want to make it worst. If you think is bad – Def. show it to your nurse. I was allergy to the sesame oil; now I’m in the one with olive oil.
@mclorn – I was a zombie last week – for some reason my energy level and mood are different this week. I was dancing to some Janet Jackson songs (old ones). DH and I went out yesterday and we were such goofballs for a moment all the worrieness and stress went away.
So since yesterday afternoon I been having minor cramps – and this AM took a HPT and F**** HPT was defected or who knows what that I didn’t give me any info – I was so annoyed but at the same time I was thinking if this a sign that maybe I should wait until BETA ( 10/12) – don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it. I may go to the pharmacy and get HPT during my lunch hour.
How everyone else doing this AM???

@mclorn achy belly seems about right. But I think mine might be nerves. My beta is tomorrow am btwn 7-8:30 but DH and I won't listen to the results till we are home tomorrow night. I am way too distracted today to get much work done. X_X

I am new here, this is my first cycle of IVF. I just got home from my ET, which was a three day. They implanted grade 8A, 7A and 5B. I am super excited and nervous.
I have been lurking sometime now and finally decided to post.

@LCK0830 Hahahah yes to Disney! My birthday is Saturday, 10/10!! So PLEASE wish me the happiest of birthdays! We celebrated with my in-laws last weekend and I made a wish you can probably guess.... but she used TRICK candles!! My wish will still come true, right?!
