But then again, if you all remember, according to that woman a while back, I could be double pregnant any way.... to bad I got my flu shot at 12 weeks and already knew I was having twins, lol
Hmmm, did you guys read the whole thing? They said "it is worth the risk" when talking about the risk of getting pregnant by the flu shot. Sorry, but if, and I mean if, it were some how magically possible to become pregnant from any shot in the arm, then I would not let my daughter get the shot. Since when is it worth the risk of getting a 14 year old pregnant to avoid the chance of catching that particular strain of flu. Plus, wouldn't every woman trying to get pregnant be told to get the flu shot (although, what kind of genetics would that baby end up with). And top it off, if she started to get sick within days of getting the shot, it was probably ms and you don't usually get that within days of conception (wouldn't they be able to tell the difference in age from a sonogram?) Sorry just so much wrong there
Not to mention your hymen doesn't always "break". It usually stretches. That girl sure pulled the wool over her stupid mother's eyes! lol

OMG 3D ultrasounds are creepy, I'm going to have to close my eyes until the u/s thread gets to the next page. ugh. Sorry I'm sure your child will come out cute, but right now nope.
@oceanchild Hope lo is feeling better soon and spotting will stay away! @2goofykids We had "our" names for a few years...Just talking about it years ago, when it took longer than we thought i always hoped nobody would name their children like that...never happened..;) We found out with 14 weeks we are having a son! Confirmed last friday with 17 weeks. Talked about the name we had, were not so sure anymore but after saying it out loud a few times i knew this was the one (and started crying out loud outside on the pavement realizing we are really having a baby...;)
But then again, if you all remember, according to that woman a while back, I could be double pregnant any way.... to bad I got my flu shot at 12 weeks and already knew I was having twins, lol

I've had an awful headache for two days and it looks like it'll be day three. Caffeine hasn't helped, water and sleep haven't helped. I'm reluctant to call it a migraine because I haven't had the severe light sensitivity and nausea that I usually get with them but I'm definitely fed up with feeling this way.
As if that wasn't bad enough, now I have to worry about being double pregnant because of the flu shot? ha-ha!! Too funny!!
Ladies, I'm having an absolutely terrible afternoon. I made the mistake of reading about an old murder case (from the 80s I think) revolving around a little boy and now my hormones and emotions have kicked into high gear and all I can think about is my sweet boy, at school, away from me....it's taking all of my energy not to leave work and go get him just so that I can hug him. I tend to feel things pretty acutely in general, but pregnancy makes it 10 times worse. I wish I could shake this!

You're probably going to end up quadruple pregnant now.

I'm raging pretty hard too. My mom texted me and told me my 5 year old nephew is getting picked on at school and 3 kids cornered him today and stole his lunch. Seriously I know they have to learn to handle situations on their own, but when it is my little one I'm going to find it very hard not to intervene. I know mine is more anger and yours it more sad, but I'm struggling too.
Not much longer left of school maybe you can pick him up if he normally takes the bus.

Ohmygod...that would piss me off, too! What is WRONG with people!?!?!? This is the reason I want to live in rural Alaska on 200 acres, with no one around for miles. Sure, I'd need a helicopter, but there would be the added benefit of no meanies. I'm so sorry that happened, @bntfroggie. Poor little guy. I am going to leave early and get him. Was thinking of taking him for an ice cream or something...I know it's all me, but I just want to hug him and love him and know that he's safe.
@bntfroggie that is so sad that kids are learning to bully that early. I hope it gets better for your nephew.
I am excited because I found the 1,000 pottery barn dresser I want for the nursery on graigslist for 250.00. It's a different color than I wanted but I will probably paint it. Now if these people would just email me back so I can run it by DH.

So today I'm struggling with food and this child. Apparently I have a picky baby growing in there. Unless it's Wendy's, fast food now doesn't agree with me. Dessert never sounds appetizing and if I try to eat it? Bad idea. Soda? Not unless it's Dr. Pepper. Chocolate? No.
@Parker16772 I know it is sad that these kids think it is okay, but they learned it somewhere. I guess since we are growing a March army it is our jobs to make sure they become great human beings.

Been busy paying bills and cleaning house. Sitting down for a moment waiting on dh to bring us food, then more cleaning and homework to do. Days like today, where I have the energy to accomplish things, I tend to get alot done and end up exhausted. But it means that I will get to relax tomorrow, maybe even take a bubble bath and READ SMUT for once! Lol, the things you give up when you have kids. So worth it. Still nice to read junk every now and then though.
Oh my...someone brought in chocolate fudge that didn't set right while cooling. So they brought it in for us and students. Its like eating fudge pudding. Mmmmm... =P~

If anyone would like to come chop my left leg off please feel free to come do so.
I seriously love being pregnant. But all the problems I'm now having with my leg, it will be the only complaint about being pregnant that I can make. My sciatica hurts from my ass to my knee. From there to my ankle and even in the arch of my foot, I get charley horse cramps. Tonight? My left ankle is swelling up. Part of that is not really pregnancy related. 8 years ago I broke my left leg (for the second time but that's another story), and I had a titanium plate and screws put in to hold the bones together (both tib/fib fractured, close to my ankle). I haven't had problems with it until now. The swelling is from pregnancy, but it's also irritating the plate, causing it to swell even more. When compared to my right ankle, it's significantly bigger. I didn't really have a swelling problem with dd, but now with my broken leg issue I seem to be having a problem now.
I am propping it up, but with side sleeping/laying I really cant. My leg is causing me to "waddle" already.
This just plain old sucks.

It sounds like we have been a gimpy crew lately , feel better ladies! I hope we all are light on our feet and eating whatever we want when we want super soon!
DD threw up today at "school" (really a 5 hour kinder program so I can work and take calls without Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playing in the back ground. So we snuggled a little bit and it was all better.
Off to go "prep" MIL's second home! ( they own the home behind ours for when they come and visit )

@charley15 so sorry! I've got some horrible sciatic pain going too. I just haven't had a chance to go to the chiropractor yet for some relief. It makes a world of a difference though. Have you talked to your doctor about the swelling difference? I know you mentioned some is due to previous injury, but swelling during pregnancy more so in one leg can be indicative of other issues.
I know, I know. I'm the worry wart my mother molded me into.
On a high note, DS gobbled up the chicken and dumplings I made for dinner. After hulk smashing it all very flat of course. My MIL left some chocolate brioche bread in my fridge after their visit this weekend. I'm very tempted to make it into French toast once DS goes to sleep.
Dh has a stuffy nose and cough as for me, I decided I wanted a banana with Carmel (normal for me) but before I left the kitchen, I grabbed the peanut butter jar and took it to. I ate peanut butter. For alot of people, that is fine. But I hate peanut butter on its own. Baked into cookies? Fine. But out of the jar or even on toast or whatever? Despise it. But I guess I needed it cause I ate like 6 tbs before I didn't want anymore. Weird things pregnancy does to us.

My phone rang at 5:30 this morning, and it was work, and I ignored it. Because I don't go in till 10 today, so I figured I could be selfish this one time..... And it was magical. Now I have time to shower, and eat, and be happy before I have to go in. Yay late days!
Happy Hump Day! And for me- Happy shot in my butt day!
Let's just say I'm so glad I get to leave 1/2 hour early today. I got spoken to yesterday about mixing something up. But today when I checked my records, I had done everything I was supposed to, it was the other county that screwed up on their end. I didn't really do anything about it yesterday because we had a whole fiasco going on here in the office- a student ordered a pizza from outside (which is a big no-no) so my boss and the delivery girl and the pizza shop owner were going full rounds in front of my desk- oh and did I mention I have to MANUALLY ring the class bell every hour? Yeah I had to get up and ring that too. And this all happened in 3 minutes time.
Yesterday I received a shipment of school supplies. A big one. It was ordered by the previous secretary, so I had no idea what was ordered, who needed what, and when I started putting things away I couldn't understand why I got half this stuff in the first place. Staff were coming in and taking stuff. I emailed the business department, asking them if they had the requisition form on file because I didn't order this stuff, and they sent it to me. All the boxes were labeled with our address, and my boss's name on them. I get the dreaded phone call today (btw I wasn't on the phone with her 10 seconds when the fire drill went off... had to hang right up and call her back afterwards)- the lady on the phone is the one in charge of ordering and SHE sent the wrong supplies to the wrong schools. So I have just spent the greater half of my morning tracking everything down that people have taken, so I can rebox it all up, and ship it back to the main school in Watertown so they can send it out to the right school. My supply order is coming, but this isn't it.

I'm so sorry about everyone's pain! Everything seems worse when you're pregnant because you have the pain AND the worry.
We made the 12 hour drive home from our glorious 3 week vacation on Monday and I already miss back home. DH went to NYC to work security for the Pope and the UN Assembly, so DD and I took the opportunity to visit our families in Michigan. I really miss fall in Michigan. The best part was not having to wash dishes for 3 weeks! My MIL loves doing dishes (she says it soothes her) and my mom refused to let me touch them. Amazing.
@oceanchild I'm glad little one is feeling better and your spotting is hopefully gone! I usually avoid stuff like that, but I got tricked into it by one of those time suck websites that made it seem like something it wasn't...curse the interwebs!
Hope everyone is having a good day! I've been bizarrely productive the last few days...not sure where it's coming from, but I'll take it!
Ok, I know talking about money is taboo, but seriously . . . did you see that someone in the "baby nurse" thread pays their nanny $220 a day and said paying a baby nurse that much isn't "that bad." Holy cow. I must be really poor, because that number is astonishing to me. I was a nanny for 6 years and never made anything remotely close to that a day!!
Married 7.29.05 :: DD1 5.11.10 :: DD2 1.23.13 :: Baby Boy due 3.13.16!
@mrspepper05 I'm SO with you! We had to hire a nanny for my son's first two years, but only for Friday's. We ended up paying her just over 1/2 of what we paid my MIL (who watched him Monday-Thursday). It's INSANE how much money they make...not that they don't deserve it, they do. But, we don't have that kind of cash flow either...seems extreme to me. I also don't get the point of a baby nurse (I mean, I *get* the point) I liked being home with my baby and getting to know him. Sure it would be good to sleep in every once in a while, but isn't that what husbands (and Moms and In-Laws) are for!?
same here @mrspepper05! my logic goes to, if you can afford to pay that, then why not just quit work and stay home instead of going back 20d PP?! but then, i know some people would never want to be SAHMs, and love their jobs. heck, i loved my job, but i always wanted to be a SAHM, so i am thinking with my own emotions and thought processes and not someone else's
